Passenger, Honesty is the best. It's all good. I am not asking you to buy anything, or learn more. I just said it's not cool to bash things that you don't know enough about. About the money thing, for the book...lulu charges quite a bit for anything. I made a book of my poems to give to family and to buy it they charge like 30 bucks. Totally ridiculous...but I guess that's what you get with a publish-yourself-publisher. It's not an unreasonable cost for a book, anyway, for the Pillars of Bliss book. 14 bucks I think. If you go to a barnes and noble and want to buy some kind of spiritual book, it's usually that much or more. So I don't see where the problem is? Maybe because the info on how to do the practice isn't readily available online for free? I don't know...I just respect the wishes of the guys and don't give out the info for free. There's a lot of nice little tidbits in that tiny book, that even after a little while of practice I still find myself going back to it and learning something new. So I think if I just told people how to do it for free on a forum or something, it wouldn't contain enough useful information. Like: what to expect from the practice, preliminary techniques, how to know you're doing the celibacy thing wrong and what to do if things go wrong, etc...a lot of info. By the way, I'm not trying to get you to buy the book..just talking about this to share my experience. And the seminar, I used to think 300 bucks was a lot...but the hotel cost like 150-200 a night per room where we were at. The crew of kunlun tour people (which was like maybe 5 of them) stayed for more days than I did. They had to eat. They had to rent out the conference room in the hotel...they might make a LITTLE. Oh yeah, they had to get plane tickets too. So in the end when you take that all into consideration, it's a fair price to pay. Other seminars for similar subjects cost quite a bit more. Could these guys do it for free? Yeah, and I'm sure some kunlun teachers that are being approved to teach the kunlun stuff are doing just that. I know I would if I got the okay. So anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that this isn't such a ridiculous thing to pay for. Just saying this to make sure people aren't thinking it's some huge scam. Not saying it to convince you to do it! And it's all over the forum because it's an all encompassing practice. People who've done it are for the most part still excited about it...I'm definitely still like, "hell yeah!" People who have seen the website and stuff are interested in it, and want to know more, so they ask. Experienced people answer. So that's why it's all over this website. It's not an essential thing to learn about and do. Not required for spiritual stuff, or whatever else your goal may be in coming here. If you don't want to know about it, then just ignore it. Make a topic about something else. Things will calm down here I think, as more of the seminar-goers have the chance to discuss their personal practice on the seperate kunlun forum which recently appeared, and more beginners are told the basics: get the book, go to a seminar, see for yourself.

I don't think you have to post a lot to have a say here. I used to read here only, and can understand. There's a lot of interesting stuff to learn and sometimes the best way to learn is just by being quiet and watching everything. Why do you have to bash kunlun, though? Max isn't at all considered a messiah and the practitioners (myself included) aren't brainwashed. That's kind of offensive! It's just a great practice. Like others have said, most of these topics that involve kunlun are people who don't know much about it either asking about it, or bashing it. The demand is high. It can seem like a controversial thing. As someone who has done it, I try to help sometimes by giving my point of view, especially for people who genuinely seem interested in it. And the only reason why I feel any need to respond to the negative posts about it, is just because the people are make it are spreading misinformation. That'll turn off someone who might actually be looking for a decent cultivation practice like this one! I mean, I probably would've never gone to the seminar if I read all of the stuff that's been being posted recently. Like how Max is an NLP conman, how practitioners think he's a messiah, how they're brainwashed, etc...I definitely would've been like, "yeah looks like a cult". But it's not, so please stop spreading lies about it just because you don't want to read about it. Just skip over the topics. Let others be interested in it, and don't try to dissuade them, thinking you know more...because the fact is that you don't know enough about this practice to comment on it. I don't mean to say that in a mean way, but it's just true. I don't see what's so hard about letting people talk about what they want to talk about. If someone has a question about kunlun, they should feel free to ask here. It IS a taoist practice. This place DOES have to do with qigong and cultivation, which is what the whole kunlun thing is about. So, I hope this helps.
  3. Are you tired of kunlun too?

I just thought of posting a new topic, "Are you tired of topics about being tired of kunlun?" But then realized it would clog up the board even more.
  4. Is KunLun Bogus?

Well to each his own. Good to have a differing opinion on it for once I guess.
  5. Is KunLun Bogus?

Heidi's absolutely right. Personally kunlun was just what I've been looking for, for years! It's sad to see so many people who know nothing about it beyond the website and stuff bashing it. It's a for real, cool, energy cultivation practice. Those who don't have personal experience shouldn't talk it down...you may be ruining someone's chance to find a good practice!
  6. Are you tired of kunlun too?

    Come to the dark side!
  7. We've been advised to not practice when there's lightning around. Good luck!
  8. Hey Teddy, I didn't trust it either. It seems like only crazy people would believe that this kind of stuff is possible! But I got the book after reading about so many people saying it's great, and practiced what the book said. Things that people said would happen, did happen. My legs would shake and my head wanted to go back. But I still doubted whether this was just kind of a result of the legs being tired or something, so I went to the seminar to see if the "transmission" really did anything. Well some strange things happened at the seminar before the formal transmission happened at all! It felt like the ground was shaking (as if I was in an elevator, even when standing on the earth). Sometimes this was kind of disorienting. You could say the vibration was higher, even before Max and crew showed up...I felt kind of weird because I wasn't used to it. But the next day after sleeping I felt fine. During the actual transmission, I didn't "feel" much. But a few seconds after I got a transmission, my body started moving in a way that I could be absolutely sure I wasn't causing it to move. So my skepticism disappeared as to whether this was a worthwhile practice or not. There was still more I was skeptical about...Max, the teacher, tells a lot of really crazy stories. I still don't know about some of those, but I CAN say that most (if not all) of the stuff on the website where it describes kunlun is true. So, it should be said that as weird phenomenon are happening you are 100% aware of what's going on. During the practice you don't experience weird mental states where you're open to suggestion or anything. And I should say that when people are moving around, it's because they're really open to the energy. Some are more open than others...myself, I'm not that sensitive...yet. But anyway as the past month has gone by the practice has really flourished. I'm so glad to have found out about it. Oh I almost forgot, I should give some details about it... It seems that it accomplishes all of the qi gong (and yoga) goals faster than any method I know of and in a more balanced way. And it's a piece of cake. You can study qi gong theories and see where it applies, but kunlun shows you the way. It's really true when they say it's a root practice, meaning all other practices and systems stem from this one thing. Really amazing. Just my take.
  9. SKY before the Quakes!

The most sensible theory I've heard about this so far is that it's just due to certain gases being released into the air due to the plates shifting beneath the surface. But could it be HAARP? Shit, I don't know! For all I know it really could be rainbow dragons.
  10. Kunlun Qs

There's a seminar in LA coming up. Max's students do give transmissions as well. In kunlun 1 just breathe however your body wants to. By the way, sorry about dominating all the questions...I'm just a beginner, so if someone more knowledgeable interjects then please forget about whatever I got wrong.

  12. Kunlun Qs

Hey, I'm so glad you're doing this PERFECT practice! I am wondering about the updraw technique, as well. It takes A LOT of hand pressure to keep it all in sometimes, and that definitely doesn't seem healthy...so I just don't do it. I used to experiment with this in my ayp yoga days. I do think it really helps if you're a highly sexual person then to make yourself be less frequent. I'm a crazy young guy so I have been used to "emissing" everyday...now it seems really good to try and aim for about once a week. More than that is kinda hard to do for me. Max (not you, the teacher) said that celibacy doesn't really matter after going to a seminar because he transmits the kunlun energy to you...I guess I have a question of everyone else here: how much doesn't it really matter? Should I just stop worrying about it? This practice is so fast but for some reason I want it even faster. About tired arms, don't feel the need to hold the position the whole time...if your arm hurts shake it out and go back to the posture. Relax and be sure you aren't making yourself tense, since that inhibits chi flow. Smile...I'm serious that's the biggest thing I learned at the seminar, and it truly truly truly helps. And one more thing - as time goes by and you practice more, you'll get more used to the position so it'll become easier. Also, when more energy is flowing, it'll work out the tension you're holding and that will make it a piece of cake. About knowing when you're ready for the next step...the basic idea I got from the seminar is that when you're done having weird experiences and you just sit there, wondering what's wrong with your practice...then you're ready. But of course you can do whatever you like...I think it's all about what you're personally ready for and comfortable with. I think a fur helps keep energy from leaking into the ground from the kidney point on the foot. It's not a huge deal, but helps a lot if you haven't gotten the transmission. About mushrooms, I haven't gotten my "shroom vision" on yet ....but my personal experience is that as I practice I feel tons of energy moving through me and feel wonderful...like loving and fun. And it definitely is a "water path", or shen practice. Everything that Chris (Mantra68) has said here is in line with my experience, and of course most of what Max has said is perfectly matching my experience. I'm sure that soon everything he's said will be seen to be true...kind of scary. AND you should know that the seminars are totally worth it. It really gets the practice going. I drove halfway across the country (WI to NJ) and it was probably the greatest thing I've ever done. You learn more techniques there, too...like red phoenix which really compliments kunlun...and makes my mind disappear sometimes. It's great, but not when I have to remember to take my car in to the mechanic.
  13. Desert Island Energy Exercise

I know this is soooooooooooooo cliche here but - kunlun! Yes I'm serious! Since you'll be celibate for 6 months, the book will work well. But of course it's best to go to a seminar to get the transmission. I think this is the greatest practice in the world!!! I'm serious about that too!

    Where is the photo?
  15. All the hurt in the world... what do YOU do?

This is a huge topic. I think the most important thing first of all is to find out what is our purpose in life. What makes living so worth it. My personal answer is to explore and have fun. So it follows that the second most important thing is to find out if we're living the life we want to live. Am I exploring and having fun, or am I working a job that I hate and being really lazy and unmotivated? Am I smiling and laughing, or am I all tense, stressed and frowning? (I personally am still working on this step!) So the third most important thing is to make sure that our own lives are on the right track. We should be living the lives we want to live. We should be happy (unless something horrible happens of course), motivated, interested, etc...if not, then of course something is wrong. SO then the fourth most important thing, which is the point of this topic, is to help others follow the previous three steps. Spread your love and joy to everyone you meet. Of course, it should be mentioned that there will be TONS of people who you won't meet. And most likely those people will be the ones that are hurting the most. They may be starving, dying of diseases, abused, etc. What can we do about them? Well it's up to you. Some people travel to help them in person...joining peace corps or whatever. Some donate money to charities. Some doctors go provide medical care for free. A lot can be done...I guess the biggest question is - are we willing to give up our own pleasures in life to help others get better? It's tough, and not for everyone. There's enough work to do right where we're at though. Even well off people can be totally miserable.
  16. A thought on Max

Personally, I find it much easier to believe Max changed a lot than to believe some imposter is posing as him. Especially because he looks pretty similar in the picture and the video that Cam posted to the guy I met at the seminar. And now we have mgd saying (after seeing all of Toledo's videos) that it's the same guy...I trust her! AND people can change a lot in 10 years! So I don't see why there's this need to perpetuate the drama of this imposter theory. No offense meant by that...it just seems counterproductive to focus on those kinds of things. The practices that Max teaches now work great, and are obviously very effective.
  17. affect of surroundings

It really depends on the type of practice.

    Happy Bday!
  19. What is the Kunlun Energy

About it not shutting off right away...I've had the same experience. Movements have gone all the way through the close down for me. It seems best to let it happen, because if I stop I get kind of dizzy and it feels bad.
  20. Kunlun - June - La Seminar

Wow I am tempted to go. If I do, I can split the cost of hotels with anyone, and I don't mind taking a bag and sleeping on the floor.
  21. What is the Kunlun Energy

Wun Yuen Gong, The best way to begin practice is going to a seminar. There you will learn red phoenix, and you'll also learn if all of it will conflict with your own practice by asking Max directly. Personally, I don't know anything about golden dragon body...pretty far off goal right now. What I love about kunlun is how well it accomplishes all the great aspects of good qigong (and yoga, which I was originally into) practice in one piece of cake form. No more wondering about whether the practice is effective - all I have to do is sit back and watch it be more effective than I could ever imagine! Anyway, if you still doubt whether this is a good way to go or not, then just do what you think is best. I don't think anyone really cares to CONVINCE you that this is a great thing to do. If you are interested, then learn more the correct way: by going to a seminar and practicing.
