Everything I have is constantly locked. There are many reasons to lock...possessions are worth something and you'd miss them if they were stolen, there are private things to keep safe, your spaces are for your solitude and other people would mess with that, etc. Locking = good boundaries.

What is the meaning of being a warrior of peace?
Aetherous replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
So now a person who is ignorant, who arms themselves with attachment and aversion, is considered a warrior? I think the opposite is true...they are a lost battle. It's best to not have the word lose all meaning entirely...only warriors can be called warriors. -

To be a warrior of peace requires only that you fight for the sake of peace. You defend the innocent, who can't defend themselves. Warrior has the word "war" contained within it for a reason...to be an actual warrior has nothing to do with a mindset, but everything to do with actual fighting in the actual world. Fighting could also be in terms of counterintelligence and not physical fighting. War involves strategy, as well as generally killing or imprisoning the enemy. Very few who consider themselves warriors are actually warriors. If we are a warrior, then what battles have we fought and won? Can we name them and say what happened? -
Being wise, kind, sweet, a loyal friend, unusual or "his own person", annoyingly quiet or shy, a little crazy, stupid, jerk, uncontrollable, an enigma, intense, more honest than anyone to a fault, smart.

I'm unaware of the 30 years thing. The invasion is slow, but sure. What's different today than in the past? Here you go:

What you're saying is hilarious, because Jesus actually dealt with demons... -
UFC Fighter Says He Will Defend Tai Chi

A movement practice. Martial arts deal with the art of combat. If something really isn't applicable to that, then I prefer not to think of it as a "martial art". -
UFC Fighter Says He Will Defend Tai Chi

Taijiquan (as we all know it) is 99% not a martial art...that's why this happened. -
Funny, I had the same conversation with an ex-girlfriend once while we were seeing each other. She didn't ever visualize or picture things, but when imagining things she would pay attention to words. So I guess if we told her to imagine a pine tree, she would just think of the words "pine tree" but not actually see one. Dear Women Bums...are you able to picture images in your mind? Is this a gender difference thing?

I agree. I think the main issue is unqualified healers overstepping their bounds and interfering with Western medical treatments. They don't have the knowledge or the right to do so. We see what happens when they think they do: people die. Slapping can be beneficial if done right/harmful if done wrong...but what should have never been done is telling someone with diabetes to fast and not take insulin (if that did happen). -
Please recommend good herbology school to study with

I don't personally know about schools. I like Matthew Wood's approach...and Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine (which thelerner mentioned) looks nice, although no idea about its content. Looking at the major historical sources of Western Herbalism is really enriching, in my view... Dioscorides, Culpeper, King's American Dispensary, and the Thompsonian system are some of those sources. These sources are primarily where a modern herbalist gets their know-how...all modern herbal books just copy them for the most part. They're based on different systems. For instance, Culpeper had a system that used astrological terminology to mean various things. For instance, Venus had to do with the genitals and procreative ability. Greek medicine after Dioscorides ended up using a unique elemental system, for instance with the "Galenic degrees". There is also Native American medicine which could be looked into, some of those have their own systems. Systems can help us get more precise with diagnosis, then we can use the right herbs and actually get results. -
It would be better to have zero religious symbols in relation to Veterans, than to have something like that. What a disgrace.

Sure, it could very well be that the French are incredibly dumb and actually want a Bilderberg Rothschild puppet who welcomes in the people that are attacking his country <- all not false.

Do these practices lead to Demonic Possession?
Aetherous replied to yondaime109's topic in General Discussion
Who knows! There is definitely a lot in the occult world (both genuine and newage) that can bring harm. If you're worried from a Christian point of view, you can look at the bible and read what it instructs to do and not do. For instance, some of the occult has to do with attempting necromancy...which is something the bible is opposed to. It's opposed to the interpretation of omens, but on the other hand is in favor of receiving messages in dreams. So knowing what it says could help bring some clarity as to whether your practices are okay or not. It's very good to read and become informed on the entire bible, if for nothing else than to know the truth about what it says so as to not be misled by either fundamentalists or atheists. Helping others (especially the helpless) without taking any reward, striving to be a good person and to not view oneself as better than anyone...these are positive methods of spirituality. What is the truth, which we can know apart from adhering to a belief? How do we discover this immutable truth and not be fooled by any mere belief? Does anyone really know what is good and bad, so as to know what to avoid, or are these things taught to us by society? Maybe one way of knowing is by intuition and instinct, while another way is just reasoning regarding our experience... If you feel like something is pure, and it brings benefits to you, then it is good. If you feel like something is impure, and it brings harm, then it's bad. If it feels pure but brings harm, it's deceptively bad. If it feels impure, but brings benefit...then what about it is making it feel corrupt to your insight? Helping others without any other intention than caring about them feels pure, and your life is benefited by doing it (as is theirs)...so we know that it's good! Negative beings definitely recoil at the name of Jesus, and this includes human negative beings. It's not up to anyone else's opinion of Christianity or Jesus, it's up to your own insight and feelings as to what you feel is the truth. And to your reasoning - is feeling that something is true enough to make it universally and eternally true? It's a question only you can answer for yourself. -
There's no need to be offended when a method is criticized. Some people appreciate criticism...I go to Rotten Tomatoes to see if I should check out a movie, and the first reviews that I read on Amazon are the ones with only 1 star. Let people call it newage bs...because it is. I'm not going to argue with you if you say it's great and want to discuss it. There is room here for more than one view.

Looking at the method here, it seems to me to not be related to the traditions which speak of the rainbow bridge.

Medications can help in some cases in some people, and in others can do serious harm. The same goes for therapy. It can either be beneficial, or harmful. Not just saying this in a generalized way...it's really true. Be careful with psychiatry/psychololgy. But don't throw it out completely.

But Islam isn't...? Really, give this a minute to sink in...

I haven't looked at any of these links, but Islamism is obviously a major world problem.

If the self is something entirely other than the body, then it's automatically implied that we are imprisoned in this life...because we're always operating from the perspective lodged in this body. It could be said that what we can control, we are, and what we can't control is not us. Since we can't control the release of the self from the body (aside from imagination), then is this belief that we're a spirit distinct from the body really true about us? Is it really true that bodies are vehicles we use...when we can't even switch vehicles? Since we can control the body, such as moving the arm when deciding to do so, how can it be said that it's not us?
