The singling out happens from any rational human being who isn't mind controlled, because the problem is so readily apparent.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic and agreeing with me, or not...but for the reasons you just listed, they should become educated and distinguish themselves from Islamists by no longer being "Muslim". Muslim means to follow the scriptures, and worship Mohammed. I'm adamant in singling out Islam because of all of the terrorism we've seen...it's 99.9% them.

Is it useful to have a disconnection of identity from the body? This seems to me to be one of those false paths...sounds good in theory, in practice its results are disappointing.

Under Aetherous rule, any Islam would be outlawed, since I don't view it as a religion but as a front for terrorism. We're all lucky I'm not the ruler. (Or not so lucky, as terrorists are permitted to continue doing what they do as a result of our collective weakness.)

Meditation interferes with digestion, making it bad for health...and digestion interferes with meditation, making it bad for spiritual development. To keep them separate is good for health and spiritual development.

If we drag up history...for instance dropping the bombs on Japan...we could compare the US to terrorists. I just don't see the point in that, aside from being clever. The modern US is incomparable to the terrorist organizations of the world. If people want to argue against this, have at it. I think it would be a waste of time.

What bizarre reality do you live in, where you can compare the places where, let's say, ISIS operates...or even what it's like in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, etc...to the quality of life in the US? Really...start making sense instead of just arguing.

One where people don't throw homosexuals off of rooftops, where they don't stone women to death, where they don't fuck goats and little boys, where they don't chop off heads, or suicide bomb in a crowded area. Where you can walk the street feeling safe, and you don't even have the notion that you might get bombed or shot for doing so. Where a supposed religion isn't constraining your freedom. In other words, the US.

Yes, it would be going against the Constitution if Islam is considered a religion. This is how they get us in the pickle that we're in. Exploiting our admiration of liberty. I'm not a spiteful person...if someone on here is getting into Sufism, I understand. It's just my personal view that there is no moderate or peaceful Muslim...if any of them were truly peaceful, they'd leave the "religion" immediately. Just my view. Many have left Christianity for far less legitimate reasons, for instance...such as merely for the fact that Christians are viewed as "judgmental". So people disavow in order to appease. Why don't Muslims disavow, when their founder was a murderous pedophile. When all throughout history, its adherents were the same...and even today, they are doing the same thing? We are literally pussyfooting around the issue at all times. Like I said, I'm not spiteful, but I'm not fooled at this point. If I were Trump, yes I would outlaw Islam and would deport them all to any middle eastern location. So, be thankful that I'm not him.

Just saw a video on here of a guy doing a satsang type presentation on a youtube video. Here's a thought for everyone to ponder: every single person who gives satsangs is just a normal human being, who at one point decided they could make money and get some people to listen to them, if they put a vase with flowers up and talked about things like consciousness and enlightenment. Some are more clever than others. Literally every one of these people is less advanced spiritually than you are (the reader of this). They are all unattained spiritually. We can find nothing of lasting value in their presentations.

I absolutely am. Islamist is a term used to describe those who seek to spread Islam globally by force...from what I understand, it's not just a term used to describe Muslims. But at this point, I am of the opinion that all Muslims need to be deported from civilized countries. This is an extreme view in our current Western culture. However, one can't readily tell which Muslim is Islamist and which isn't...many claim not to be, but are. This view is antithetical to freedom of religion. However, when the religion murders so many innocents and has a plan for global domination and the overthrow of your government, I think it becomes a terrorist organization more so than a religion. Even if the majority of its proponents don't do those things, their adherence perpetuates it...and I personally feel like they secretly want their side to win. Our pussyfooting around the issue is their only foothold into our lands.

Le Pen needs to win...her loss is the impending loss of France to Islamism.

I have no idea.

I agree. Any member of the audience could just as well get up on the stage, and the teacher sit down in the crowd. The followers might leave if that were to occur, but it'd be just as legitimate.

True, it's really casting a broad net that might not always be accurate. I haven't seen every satsang type teacher...I've just seen enough. In my view, giving them the benefit of the doubt is what perpetuates their fraudulent teachings. Anyone can sit on a chair, upon a stage, with flowers near them, smile and talk about spiritual sounding things, and gain a following. Bonus points if they wear a strange article of clothing or a mala. My point is that these people are literally just like anyone else...they're as attained as the cashier who last rang up your groceries, as the homeless person in the alley, as the businessman who doesn't look that way, as the local firefighter. They are not more attained, and giving the impression that they are is the stuff of conmen. A good measurement of whether they're legitimate spiritual teachers or not is to see whether they've produced attainment in the people who watch the videos or attend the talks. Or if it's just like candy for the spiritual brain...you get a little hit of something, maybe you get a slight insight you didn't think of before...but there's no further benefit from it. Real benefit produces a lasting change, or contains a truth that's immutable. Fake benefit keeps the followers coming back for the carrot on the string.

It's in another recent thread...I didn't want to speak poorly of a video that another daobum was posting. I'm sure they like the teacher. It wasn't the video in particular, but really all of those types of videos.

Thinking out loud...this topic can be for anyone who likes tea, who wants to share their thoughts on it... Perhaps gongfu tea is not about yixing pots, gaiwans, tools, bamboo trays, sniffing cups, etc. At the most basic level, perhaps it's about having experience with: 1) the one specific variety of tea you're using 2) different types of water 3) different water temperatures 4) different steeping times So you could do gongfu tea simply using two cups and a strainer of some sort...or could go with the typical gongfu supplies. To me, gongfu just means that you've put in some actual work in order to refine what you're doing. So if you experiment (work), you eventually find the sweet spot between water that's too hot and scorches the leaves, and water that's not hot enough and doesn't extract the essence of the tea. We have thermometers...why not record your precise result? Does the result change from winter to summer? Does it change at different elevations or locations around the world? This could be done as an experiment in a shorter period of time, or just as personal experience over a long period. Steep it just enough so that you have the taste and smell, and it reveals its essence to you fully...not so much that the flavor is overbearing or even bitter, where the aroma is harsh and strong...and not too little so that the flavor and aroma are hardly a hint. Record the sweet spot of the steep time in relation to that sweet spot temperature you found before. If one changes, the other probably will too - they depend on each other. Your results will be much more conservative than what they typically recommend for temp and steeping times at tea shops. There will also be a specific amount of this type of tea leaf used. You could weigh it on a jewelers scale for greater accuracy than just saying something like "2 heaping teaspoons"...then you know you're getting the same result each time. And for more refinement, you can go from tap water, to bottled water of various types, to a natural spring, to rain water, etc. There are also advanced filters these days, where you can collect from a source in nature like a pristine river, snow, ice, rainwater, etc. It seems to me that different types of teas respond better or worse to different types of water. Once the basics (temp, time, amount of tea) are down, then you can refine this way choosing the one that works the best for you. I think only after it's refined this far, should you consider other minor details like tea ceremony products. Just some thoughts, I don't actually know much about gongfu tea historically.

One of the most loyal creatures...a better friend than even those of my own species. Of course it should be stopped. -
It's not good for internal heat to be trapped within the body. Most qigong routines do a whole body self-massage at the end, which vents the heat out through the skin layer. Movement also helps the heat to not be trapped...such as going for walks, and some of the more physical qigong stuff like baduanjin...it's good to have movement in the warm up before the qigong session, like opening all of the joints with circular motions.

The back and head are yang, so they're more capable of handling cold. Cold water dousing can be beneficial, but it's not so good to use a shower for it. Better to pour a bucket. I wouldn't worry about what happened. -
