Ideally, they are. In reality, they've made some big claims that they haven't backed up.

Ideally with waterfalls located at the exit...

Not good to vote in a way that makes you feel like that.

Is Stoicism really about accepting fate? Or is it about this: We could also replace "worry" with "complain".
-
I would actually dig that, especially if done from an original version of the video.
-
Disturbing. I saw that video before, but didn't realize they could amplify the whispers...not sure if real.

This is very useful, in light of researchers saying that we should move our bodies every half hour or so to prevent the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle.

Will you say what they were? I suspect it's more of this same fake esoterism.

Is the wudang orbit all that it's cranked up to be?
Aetherous replied to Oneironaut's topic in Daoist Discussion
That's incredibly interesting, and I hope you share more...maybe a translation of the section with that phrase, if you're willing? -

Yep...it was essential to learn more. I think I shared my notes with you in daobums messaging a few years back. -

Figured I'd share some information since the OP was really asking for more. -

I have some experience with it, but don't practice it today unfortunately. "Wudang orbit" seems to have been partially based on the same practice. I would definitely not compare it to red dragon. -
Energy Feeling and Pain Around the Heart.
Aetherous replied to Shad282's topic in General Discussion
I'd go see a Chinese Medicine practitioner. It sounds like the Pericardium channel is involved, to me, and it's good to always keep the Heart and Pericardium functioning well. If you're interested in qigong, it's good to do exercises that move the arms and chest around in all sorts of different ways.- 84 replies

Interesting that this might have connections to alchemy, considering that neidan came about so much later in history...

In a certain sense, the physical is our foundation, whereas the spiritual is the capstone. Ideally, we want a healthy strong pyramid. Cultivating only one aspect of ourselves weakens us...what is an amazing capstone without a nice tall base? Not as impressive and easily damaged. Physical exercise is only one aspect of physical health. It's not a panacea, curing every health problem. If done to excess, it causes health problems. Sleep is another consideration for health. Quality relationships, another. Etc. A legitimate spiritual path will teach you to exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle in addition to its practices.

I think I understand this feeling you're talking about...having felt it as well. I attributed it to the amount of readily available sugars in the juice, that the body wasn't used to...I felt like maybe it's an immediate blood sugar spike and then drop or something. But it could also be that juices are cleansing, so they're clearing the area out...in which case, maybe it's just a new sensation that the body has to get used to. Honestly have no idea, or even if we have experienced the same thing.

I've been pretty laid back in terms of spouting off ideas regardless of whether people like them or not.

Recent disagreements have actually just been a coincidence, from my end.

Sometimes what everyone is calling unhealthy is actually healthy...and what everyone consider to be a healthy diet, actually wouldn't be. Anyway, there is room for both our views on here. _/\_
-
I'm not on board with this, either. Totally important to have carbs, proteins, and fats in the same meal.
-
I disagree with the idea that the standard American diet is unhealthy for all people at all times. Truth be told, it's better to eat it than to barely eat anything.
-
Pizza, burgers, enchiladas, burritos, nachos with beef cheese salsa lettuce sour cream, sandwiches with meat inside, eggs and toast with bacon, chicken egg rolls, etc. I'm really just describing normal types of foods eaten in America that tend to have balanced carb-protein-fats...those work fine for gaining while lifting weights. If you have a soup, lets say primarily made out of veggies, add something like chicken to it. Veggies are primarily carbohydrates, so add that protein...add something like ghee or pasture butter for the fats. If you have oatmeal, scramble up some egg whites to go with it. Avocados work as fats...good to get a wide variety of fat sources. Olive oil on salads, or over pasta, is good. Add a variety of fruits to the diet...lets say get bananas one week, get apples the next, oranges the following. During cold seasons, you can bake these fruits and could put them on oatmeal, or make something like apple crisp. ... In terms of lifting weights, it would be a great idea to find a cheap gym membership in your area or ask about any sign up specials they have coming up. Really important to progress to lifting heavier weights, with stuff like squats deadlifts etc...that's what puts on bulk and fixes the posture. Doing it with freeweights at home, or even with bodyweight exercises, doesn't do nearly the same thing.
