  1. Hillary and Trump

As someone who doesn't mind violence when appropriate, it doesn't bother me that he's paying someone's legal fees. That person sucker punched someone who was being disrespectful...I often wish our society had more of that. Not more violence, but more justice. But like I said, much of what Trump says is in jest. This "Trump is inciting violence" concept is taking it a bit too far...despite what you've shown and what I've looked at, I don't believe it's totally true. Sometimes we just need to agree to disagree with people on politics. No need to get exasperated.

  3. Hey guys...what is an adept?

My paraphrasing was accurate as I demonstrated above. You seem to think that I'm angry at this person...please reread my posts and look for the good. It's there. I am interested in learning more about what he has to say or show. The communication gap is due to people's perceptions here...actual reality is outside of these perceptions.

I claimed that you said the following (I was paraphrasing you)... "If your practice is real, you can demonstrate that you have qi...I can do that of course, so you should believe me when I say that all practices in the West are fake...but demonstrating would waste my qi, so I don't want to. But believe me." Here is where I got that impression... In those three quotes, it's clear that you're saying basically "if your practice is real, you can demonstrate that you have qi." Besides your apparent confidence in the system of training that you adhere to, stating it as if you know it as a fact that it's the one true way, as a result of personal experience (because you became able to "demonstrate qi" to yourself in an objective way) you also say that you're able to here: Oh really. So when I paraphrase you as saying basically, "I can do that of course", it's accurate. So in other words, incorrect. I think those quotes are adequate to express your view that "all practices in the West are fake". Fake meaning incomplete and won't lead to the results you think are a sign of attainment. If you think this statement is misrepresenting you, especially the "all practices" part, please name a teacher in the West that has what you consider to be a legitimate (complete and in the correct sequence) method of training. ...see? If I had some kind of decent demonstration to show, yes. However, qi is 98% invisible and intangible. It doesn't move boxes, make shreds of paper fly around as if there were a breeze, light things on fire, etc. That's not how qi works. And a forum member here wore a mask when posting videos before. It's not a big deal to post a video. I actually did post a video of myself doing spontaneous qigong here once years ago...it looked really stupid. I think those quotes are all adequate to show that you are basically saying "demonstrating would waste my qi" (or any other excuse, such as not wanting your face to be known, or not having the desire). I have not misrepresented or misunderstood you.

I was only referencing his own posts in this thread. He said those things.

Yes, there is a lot of misunderstanding between people in this thread. I'm not angry or upset with you. I expect someone who claims to be able to do something, to do it...because I inherently believe that people have integrity, and a person with integrity claiming to do something has no problem doing it. They just do it, or don't. If they could, but don't, it's because they had better things to do and had no attachment to opinions, in which case they wouldn't make claims in the first place...but a person lacking integrity makes big claims and has nothing to back it up, then makes all kinds of excuses for why they can't. I'm genuinely not sure which one has happened here. It's not my intention to be rude, so I won't ask again. It's not my intention to drive anyone away from the forum, who has stuff to share. I'm interested in learning more from you, because what you say is actually interesting. I too should take a break...this has been a lot of time spent with nothing really substantial coming out of it.

That would be a convenient excuse for not demonstrating. "If your practice is real, you can demonstrate that you have qi...I can do that of course, so you should believe me when I say that all practices in the West are fake...but demonstrating would waste my qi, so I don't want to. But believe me." Of course, everyone should prove to themselves that their practice does something. I think most people in the West have experience genuine qi, and those who practice for years can definitely use it...it's not such a big deal. We're also still being very ambiguous about what demonstration 小梦想 is talking about. The ambiguity here shows that something is off. If this stuff is simple and not secret, there's no need for it. Heaven never hints.
  9. I would like to delete my account

It's the correct sequence in your school of training...if we look at the various texts of neidan, will we find that same sequence? And I'm not angry or coming back at you for offending me, but you keep talking about demonstrations...I am just waiting for it. To be clear about how I feel...I appreciate your presence here, and hope to learn more from you. I too am reflecting on my actions as a result of this thread.

If they're simple, and not a secret, then what's the need of a master? If not secret, then why post here with any ambiguity in regard to the setting the foundations? This seems to be a cop out, to me. All this talk of demonstrations showing that a person has achieved this basic stage, and nothing to back it up. If you're posting a video of your demonstration later, I will take your word on it, but what's the hold up? When you challenge others, it's good to be prepared to step up to the plate, yourself. Not everyone is going to take your word on it. I suspect some won't even believe whatever your demonstration might be...for instance, I don't believe that the papers flying around is really from qi - I think it was a parlor trick. And what's the use of making people rethink their practices, when you're not actually providing a substitute? Just a nebulous "all of your training is wrong, and my school of practice is the only legitimate one". We've seen this before many times at the forum. In my view, it's a Chinese cultural phenomenon stemming from the warring states period, where different schools of thought are contrasting each other. "Confucianism is the true way, Daoism is a false way!" and vice versa. Those who have studied the historical context of neidan realize that there isn't one true way...the entire basis of the practice is questionable. Also, that there are multiple ways of doing the same thing. Regardless, what you say of your particular school of training seems interesting...I wish your posts would be more substantial regarding it. I'm not sure that Liu Yiming, for instance, would agree with the notion that these things are physical bodily processes or elements. Please feel free to actually contribute to the forum. It's not really a contribution to come here and play the game of "my school is right, all others in the West are wrong, but I can't give exact details of my school". In my (limited) experience with those types of schools, they work under the same principles of any other and all of this kind of hyping it up just wastes people's time instead of helping anyone.

I probably should be, as I still don't think I misread it, and don't even know who Mrs. Jones is...
  12. Hillary and Trump

I agree that he is saying "knock the crap out of them, would you, seriously" here...in this case it is him inciting violence in regard to people throwing tomatoes. Other times it's been about self defense, after the person had become violent themselves, and other times it hasn't been a direct call to violence like this one. I do take it completely in jest, though. I don't think he actually expects his supporters to start sending people out in stretchers. That would make for some pretty bad press, and he'd definitely lose. Not everything people say is meant to be taken literally.

Without sarcasm - being under an oath makes it understandable.

The average qi from "jing to qi" is actually yuanqi...Zhenqi is from a different internal process that relies on having some yuan qi. Basic Chinese medical theory here. And the fact is: true masters don't die young. Why would someone take their own life, when there are other ways of saving people's lives besides draining oneself? Respect to someone who trained, did things, and was a teacher...but let's think critically about this stuff. If you think this opinion is misinformation and is enough to make people wish to leave the forum, that's just your opinion. Look into the creation of Zhenqi versus yuan qi and see if I'm wrong.

From what I grasp of what he's saying, he is saying that you don't need secretive schools that teach methods to cultivate qi in a true way...those methods can be found elsewhere, such as in some books or on the Internet. But his real point is that cultivation should eventually cause someone to be able to demonstrate the fruits in some way. With qi cultivation, the practitioner can then use their qi to do something.
  16. I would like to delete my account

It seems like that's what he's saying when he said... "any qi ability gets related to magic, and special secret schools. This just isn't the case. We need to stop thinking being able to demonstrate qi is due to some magical exercises or secret methods."
  17. I would like to delete my account

Okay...you claim that being able to "demonstrate qi" doesn't require training in schools that teach various methods, in other words, that it can be done by a person who practices from a book or the internet for instance. I could technically agree to that. Can you prove it, yourself, to us? What's your demonstration? What was the practice (because you say secret methods aren't necessary) that brought about the demonstration? I'm honestly expecting to see one of these "demonstrations" from you now. Put your money where your mouth is! ... You also claim that these Chinese terms aren't clear and are misunderstood by many, like: qi, jing, ren and du, dantian...you gave some of what appeared to be clear definitions, but you said that you were going into "pretend world" when doing that...so apparently those are not the definitions that you actually adhere to. If you think people misunderstand those words and that it leads to a lot of mystical nonsense, then what is your true understanding of them (without going into pretend mode)? I'm expecting to see clear real world definitions from you now. Something I pointed to was the Chinese Medical perspective of these things...that view does include clear definitions of these words (except for dantian, but that's defined clearly in neidan), which demystifies the process. For instance, I said that everyone is refining jing into qi because that's what helps us be alive...that is the mingmen or Kidney yang using up the Kidney jing to send yuan qi through the sanjiao to the various shu points. <- Medical view. Without that mechanism, people wouldn't breathe or have a heartbeat or anything. The medical view can give us insight into things...such as why the various dantian qi masters typically end up dying at like 50-60 years old: they're using up their Kidney jing more quickly than others and are not replenishing it. Just so you're very clear, I'm not one of those people...I agree that having qi leads to being able to demonstrate it in some fashion. The question is...what are people expecting to see? That's where I take issue with what you're saying. Shreds of paper flying around for instance might be a demonstration, but it's totally pointless, is a thing that's specifically trained for rather than a byproduct of "having qi", and is very damaging to one's health to do. The master who did that recently passed away at too young of an age...

That saying is in reference to people having bad actions, despite good intentions. So in other words, the road to hell is paved with negative deeds...as the religions teach us. Is it a bad action to share some food for thought? Perhaps sometimes. But it's such a minuscule form of bad in this particular case, that I don't personally see a problem with what I've done here. Take offense as you desire. Anyway...it seems that nothing more needs to be said at the moment, so I'm out of this thread.
  19. Hillary and Trump

I personally take much of what he says in jest. And this is not him inciting violence at all...
  20. Hillary and Trump

Trump is just running his campaign in an anti-PC way, because he knows that many (including himself) dislike the two faced/lying nature of politicians. Other people are more demanding of a sense of decorum from their candidates. There are negative aspects to both sides of this...a candidate might have a great sense of decorum, but be absolutely corrupt in very clear ways. The other candidate might have no sense of decorum, but really be a decent person at heart who does a good job in everything.

It's a questionable statement...we can find concrete proof in one particularly popular case of a spiritual teacher, not to compare myself to the someone like him by any means. Anyway, thanks for gaining something from someone who is not a teacher...to listen and learn from all, in one way or another, is the mark of a wise person. <-further potentially meaningless platitudes

I'm not stopping him, just sharing some of what I consider to be good things for cultivation. Perhaps I'm stupid for doing so! Like I said, I'm used to being hated for no good reason...I've only attempted to share positively here. How people view that is something in their own perception.

I've found that my cultivation interests move in cycles. Now I'm interested in this, then I'm interested in that, later I'm interested in this again. It's important to follow your momentary passions, while also maintaining a discipline in one school of thought that you can agree with. With no long term discipline in one line, there is little result. With no passion, there's little energy.

Dantian training and seemingly magical manifestations of qi are one type of cultivation, specific to Daoist offshoots. I did follow that path for a while and had some cool effects from a type of that training...although not making shreds of paper fly around. The results were obvious and not simply feeling vibrations, which is a decent sign by the way, which anyone can experience in like one day of practice. The refinement of qi from jing is in reality something everyone does in order to be alive...practices that emphasize that action might have differing effects. The one I did years ago had a more spiritual effect, causing spirit travel basically. It utilizes the lower dantian and the ren and du for spiritual purposes rather than for manipulation of external qi. It was said to also be able to affect other people, even to kill different beings from a distance, if done in a certain way...obviously a poor idea to try, especially since it's your own Shen and jing that you're wasting in the process. I used the energy for healing once although it was too high vibration to be good for that. That practice was ultimately too challenging to maintain in terms of what was required to practice it safely. These days my practices still utilize the mingmen in a certain sense, but they're far removed from the Daoist versions of neidan.
