Not sure what you mean, I posted here what was in the PM. Of course someone actually practicing that long can "do stuff". If you're clear about what stuff you want to do, it will help in your cultivation. Then others will be saying "you can't do this stuff" but that's because you focused on doing that stuff, for good reasons. It's not a way of deflecting insults...the insulting person is still there insulting you, and it doesn't protect your emotions from their comments aimed at you. It's a way of spiritual cultivation, for two reasons: 1) It's human nature to tend to project our own shit onto others, without looking at ourselves...99% of the time, what we're saying negative about others is something we need to work on for our advancement. Also, if we don't reflect on ourselves, wise people look at us as being complete fools, because they see this mechanism clearly. 2) It helps us get out of the negative mode of mind to stop this outward projection onto others...becoming positive and open to everyone helps us advance spiritually. It's good to be clear about what you're interested in: qi. If you focus on what you like, versus what you dislike, you'll enjoy yourself more. Other people might be speaking of spiritual platitudes which seem utterly meaningless to you...but perhaps later you'll be interested in those things.

Threads in the personal practice section are self moderated, so you can do that. Pretty sure this was me. I recommended SFQ as a good practice for someone in a thread, and in PM also said that the version of MCO in SFQ is safe as compared to other ways. Here's the thing: I have over 15 years of experience in these types of methods, from various schools' perspectives as well as from a Chinese Medical perspective. I practice other things, because in 15 years I discovered and progressed on to other things...that doesn't disqualify me from giving my opinion on something I know about. My experience qualifies me, which is why I spoke. Instead of someone who has less than a year experience with this stuff maybe who is just blabbing, I make sure that I have something worthwhile and true to contribute before posting. Like I said in my previous post here...consider what you say about others. You say the forum is filled with dummies...that's what you see in your lens of perception (in the mirror). Use this as a chance to cultivate yourself, by asking if you're really more experienced and knowledgeable than the others here, to be able to say such a thing about them. If not...take a slice of humble pie, chew on it, grab a seat at the pub, and listen.

The fact of life is: what you do is the only thing that matters, not what other people do. It's impossible to control others. The right people for the message you have find you, and the wrong people for the message avoid hearing it. This is true whether you're shoving it down their throats or simply being another voice in the crowd. Your last sentence here is especially correct, in my view. It's questionable that any school has the truth on a subject which was invented over time by different people. This is why there are a hundred different opinions...because all of this stuff about the MCO (which I think is simply neidan mixed with the medical tradition) has no concrete origin and truth. Of course schools will disagree with even that statement. It's a good point you make that results are the key to knowing whether what you practice is real or not. For some, feeling vibration as a result of some visualization is the primary result they seek...and perhaps their methods have other results, like subtly improved health. For others, being able to make little shreds of paper fly around with their qi is the primary result. What's the point of any of it? Anyway...I personally appreciate your presence here, because you have respect for actual schools over training from Mantak Chia books. Such a person can help others. But they cannot convert every single person's opinion, at least not right away.

As someone who is usually hated by the masses, I'm sure many people here, I have some advice for you and anyone else (or even the masses) who feels like the forum is crappy... Consider that what you perceive other people to be doing is just a mirror, providing a reflection for you to consider against your own actions. For instance, if you think the forum is filled with pushy people...that's a chance to ask yourself, "Am I pushy ever?" If it's filled with fools who know nothing, ask yourself if you truly know something! These things we dislike, like this forum for some people, represent our stepping stones of spiritual growth. Our heart and mind contracts around them, and we squirm as a result...but real life demands that we face what we dislike. Even if we try to constantly live in pleasure, there is bound to be something soon on its way to ruin the party. No one gets away in this life without being confronted with some kind of pain. So our growth comes when we're able to accept the way things are and live with an open heart, not closing ourselves off...furthermore, to even contribute positively to the way things are, without pointing the finger of blame elsewhere. "When you point your finger, there are three pointing back at you". If you're able to do these things, to grow spiritually by accepting with an open heart and having constructive criticism for yourself based off of the mirrors of other people, you will probably find that you have also become hated by the many. The fact of the matter: most people are full of shit, and they project it on everyone...misery loves company, so they only feel comfortable around those similar to them. If you've polished your mirror to perfection, they will see in you a big pile of shit, and will try to squirm away at the deepest level of who they are. The most straight forward people are the most hated...actually, feared. So my message to you, whether you stay and learn, or go and unlearn...consider that what you feel and say about other people is something really beneficial you could reflect on regarding yourself, especially if it's negative...and that any time your heart closes off or squirms away from anything in life, it's a chance to see how you could open it fully again and keep it that way regardless of any circumstances...because that's the deciding factor in how well anyone is doing in their spiritual cultivation. In no school of thought do they say that closing down the heart represents progress. This forum is a place that's only as good as the people who contribute to it. I personally love it here...we can find new systems of practice to explore, get insights from people with years of experience, come up against opposing viewpoints to broaden our minds. If the place isn't stimulating enough, why not share something you're stimulated by?
  5. Qigong retreats in China

There might be some truth to this, but another truth is that there was daoyin, guiding and pulling exercises, even from BCE times. Here's an example.
  6. The rule of keeping the cultivation secret

Value and power leaves out of the mouth. If you keep something absolutely secret, you care about it more than something you speak to everyone about. Something only mildly interesting in normal circumstances, becomes a treasure if kept as a secret. Sometimes it's good to treasure certain ideas...such as ones involved with what you intend to cultivate. If you try to accomplish some goal, never discussing your work allows you to focus on actually doing it...you have this excess of energy which wants to go somewhere, and you can choose to put it where it belongs...whereas if you tell someone "I'm working on this project, listen to this...." your power for your work goes into talking about it rather than accomplishing it. In talking, you're "expressing your enthusiasm"...in other words, your enthusiasm leaves your body in that moment. It's better to retain that enthusiasm, then channel it through the pen, through your hands accomplishing the task, through learning that's required, or whatever else. It's best to only talk about your projects after you've succeeded in them. There are many other reasons, but these are two potential ones.
  7. Qigong for Self-Healing by jenny lamb

It does seem to me that yigong, AKA self healing qigong by Jenny Lamb, can unbalance the mind too much for someone with bipolar. With a mind that isn't harmonious, the body will grow sick instead of healthier. In Chinese Medicine they would say that internal emotions, or (for those who don't have strong overt emotions) subtle flows of qi related to the mind and persona, are a major cause of disease. Yigong makes these flows stronger or more apparent...so you would become even more bipolar, and any idiosyncrasies in your demeanor would be more blatant...and thus more destructive to your health. It seems to me that something which seems dull and boring would be perfect for the bipolar person. In actuality, nothing is boring...even simply living and breathing is an ecstatic experience! So how could a healing method of qigong be boring, in reality? Perhaps the mind needs to be given a rest with something that seems boring, in order for the swinging pendulum of bipolar to begin to return to the center. It's kind of like people who do sitting meditation retreats...it takes a while for them to benefit from the practice, because their mind needs to experience outer stillness (sitting, doing nothing, no distractions) before it can finally chill out. And Spring Forest Qigong is a good and healing method. It's not weak for healing in comparison to yigong. Yigong is just one of those practices that seems powerful. I say this as someone who doesn't usually recommend SFQ...it just seems like a good idea in this case. Perhaps you would no longer be bipolar after a time of practice.
  8. Hillary and Trump

Not that I place less value on what you write here, but I didn't read your post, having a tendency to be busy in my life...I read one on the first page of this thread and was responding more to that as well as personal conversations I've had about this away from the forum. But anyway...perhaps some of the quotes in your post were based on inaccuracies, or were lies of Trump, but definitely not all of them. Some that you found very disagreeable, I didn't whatsoever. And being involved in lawsuits when you're a celebrity businessman is not surprising. In my view, Trump has not done "a multitude" of things that have been wrong...perhaps his demeanor is questionable, but that's about it...whereas Hillary has done a multitude of things that have been wrong! I listed many of them and didn't focus on one particular issue. It's a big deal for a potential President to commit perjury. It's a big deal for them to delete subpoenaed emails that deal with their potential involvement in the deaths of Americans and an Ambassador. It's a big deal for them to expose confidential information to parties that shouldn't be exposed to it, as well as open it up to foreign hackers...actually a very big deal. It's a big deal to make up a blatant lie about why Americans died overseas, and tell that lie to their families, when you knew the truth. It's a big deal to have been involved in taking out a foreign government's leader, to have been part of the administration that's supplied money and weapons to rebels in that country, who later defected and became the major terrorist organization that's currently spreading through the globe...in other words, we either directly or indirectly helped to fund the IS to some extent. I'm not mentioning the Clinton Foundation scandal, the questionable benefactors of Clinton's campaign, the racist emails and attempt to destroy Bernie's campaign, the secret service details' descriptions of her behavior toward them, the fact that people who have crossed her tend to die mysterious deaths, etc...
  9. Hillary and Trump

I've noticed that many people have an irrational fear of Trump, and a rational apprehension of Hillary. Why is it irrational? Because Trump hasn't actually done or said anything overtly wrong (unless his words are twisted), but he is presumed to be evil incarnate. Why fear? Because these people imagine the worst scenarios of him being in office...such as pressing the detonate the Earth button. Again, there is no evidence of him actually behaving in such a way in his positions of power. Why is the apprehension of Hillary rational? Because she has done so much wrong. She actually committed perjury with that email scandal, in addition to deleting many emails that may have been incriminating which were under subpoena at the time of deletion, in addition to lying to the family members of those who died at Benghazi, among other things... So here is a candidate who has proven herself incompetent, if not actually evil incarnate, by her very real actions. That's why any apprehension is entirely rational. Why apprehension and not fear? For some reason, these people can envision her leading the country. As if incompetence, disclosure of highly classified information to devious sources, lying to grieving family members, starting wars which create terrorist organization...is the norm for an American President. People tend to go by their gut reactions, more so than reasoning...which is fine. But those gut reactions have been conditioned by many factors...they're not simply instinct or insight anymore.
  10. Preventing to fight

Avoid everyone, be a hermit. No fights.
  11. Great Adept of the Quareia Online Course is the appropriate title.
  12. Hillary and Trump

Maybe she will be brought to justice in a different way.
  13. Quareia is totally free and transparent - all teachings are on its website. Not that I'm advocating for it at all, just saying it's one of the few schools out there that fit this criteria.
  14. Can you learn Tai Chi from dvds

I tried learning from Yang Jwing Ming's dvd...it's possible. Not much fun though.
  15. Haha...sometimes there are real gems of schools hidden out there...I hope to see others contribute any that they know of!
  16. Does Weightlifting Open Chi Channel?

Well, two things... 1) Top weightlifters are the ones who go to the extreme and don't stay moderate. 2) No one is saying that exercise does the same thing as qigong...only that it opens the channels. A side effect of that is good health. Look at someone who does conventional exercise (like moderate resistance training etc), and then look at someone who practices qigong (like zhan zhuang)...actually, the conventional exerciser will have a healthier appearance.
  17. Does Weightlifting Open Chi Channel?

Well, you could...lets say you do as many pushups as you can right now. If you haven't trained a lot and built a good foundation of doing pushups, then you will tear things. The key with any type of exercise is to start really easy and very gradually build up. Then once you're doing well at it, don't go to extremes or "push the envelope", either with increasing force, or the amount of repetitions (overuse injuries).
  18. Does Weightlifting Open Chi Channel?

Exercise opens the channels, definitely. Weightlifting is one of the best forms of exercise - it actually improves bone density. The only time it doesn't open the channels is if you're lifting too much and tearing muscles, being sore afterward. In my opinion, it should be kept at a moderate level of intensity and weight, and not be taken anywhere near the extreme.
  19. 20. The news media exists solely to get attention on itself, because it only exists through subscriptions or else advertisements which depend us viewing it. The more that our attention is going elsewhere in large numbers, the harder they'll try to stay afloat by putting ridiculous stuff in our faces that cause us to react. The racism stuff in the news in America is definitely exaggerated. It fires people up. Reports of terrorism seem to me to be pretty fairly reported. It's not exaggerated. The threat is actually real, although small enough to not truly impact our daily lives...until it does.
  21. Zhan Zhuang - Leg/Low back meridians - advice

Speaking from a musculoskeletal level...most people's pelvises are held out of alignment, causing SI joint problems, and can easily be put back into place (and as a result have the pain go away) with muscle energy technique. PTs and ATs do it...maayyyybe some massage therapists.
  22. It's interesting, because Jesus' teaching is, "Be perfect therefore as your Heavenly Father is perfect." - Matthew 5:48 Maybe it's not so bad to strive to be like God (strive to be fully good) - but where the fault lies is in having hubris, or having no humility, and claiming to sit on the throne of power. The truth is that we're not completely omniscient and omnipotent, so of course none of us are God. We're just human beings.

  24. Tolerance, Apathy and the Fall of Civilizations

"Toleration is not the opposite of intolerance, but the counterfeit of it. Both are despotisms: the one assumes to itself the right of withholding liberty of conscience, the other of granting it." - Thomas Paine
