I have never said this. I am out the door for my afternoon pleasures. talk to you tonight.
-
Brian! We all know that the only good cat is a flat cat.

Can you place this into context, extended content. I would implement UHC "by any means necessary", but there was never any suggestion of over throwing the Government. I have said I would favor a Con-Con to restructure American authority so as to make it more local and responsive to the social and political views of a given region. I will go bak to out PM to review this part of our conversations. Which ideology would that be? Have you read the younger Marx? Before he got swept up in Lenin's grand scheme, he said some interesting thing. If you can find his essay on marriage and divorce it might humor you. Oh, BTW, Did the software remove all those small quote I used for you words? If so let me publicly apologize for the slight that you intentionally removed them. I think I just noticed the same software "flaw" in another post. Again I am sorry for that rebuff.

I must note that you deleted the quote with your words. Since I am leaving shortly for the pleasure of a root canal, I will post a specific set of questions, using your words, to research. Since we have this one right here, can you find any place where I talk about the welfare of " "for" goodness and kindness and kittens and puppies". Remember, it has to be an example of my words not your twisted transmutation of thoughts that disturb you. Find me my Kittens and puppies moment. I'll list the rest of your assignment in a message this evening. If an American Universal HC system were made into law, it will happen by traditional methods. Both the House and the Senate would pass said legislation and the President would sign it into law. If this was funded by increased taxation on the top 15%, and especially on the top 5%, it would be done so by traditional democratic means. The with that pool of OPM, we could move forward with what we the people see as just. In Washington, for any expenditure, it is always about OPM.

Nobody is saying this kind of crap but you. Yes different countries have regulations, rules, as to who is "one of us". When you are one of us, then you can get the goodies. Where the fuck do you get this from? WWII? Well, it is a whole lot better here than in other states that rejected the Medicaid enhancements in the ACA. Yeah know those Red states that are willing to accept negative HC outcomes in the name of some kind of demented sense of "freedom" from big brother. Those Red state that want to force all of us to live as they see fit. If, no when, the ACA is repealed, Massachusetts will be facing major issues, at least in the short term. State laws were changed as a part of the ACA. The state will not get the federal monies that went into Medicaid and reduced the level of uninsured to 2.5%. The state will revise HC laws in this future, and I am certain that HC outcomes will still be better in Massachusetts than in most states. If we vote to withhold sending some of our taxes to DC and authorize the expenditure of those funds on our vision for HC, will you and yours be fine with that? Hell, lets just go to a state based Universal HC system and keep all those local tax dollars in state. Are you with us? Or will you support the theft of our monies by "the feds" so they can spend our OPM as they see fit in other states? Huh? I'm a Bernie baby? I'm a socialist? Or did you just roll that over into a Communist? Find me any place where I suggested the "use of force" to accomplish any goal. We already live in a society where governmental concerns do not align well with perhaps 50% of its citizenry. I have never suggested any form of "totalitarianism in which an unrestricted & all-powerful central government". Making up shit out of your personal delusions of what other people might want to do is a problem Brian. YES! YES! It is Gerry against the world! I'll storm the capitol, rip up the constitution and establish the land of the true believer, singular! You do know you are projecting this out of your personal problem with the notion of what freedom is. Brian I have never said this nor do I believe this. So for the first time I will accuse you of lying about what I have said, how I would accomplish what I might like to see done. All of your prevarication, as well as your uncomely argumentation, brings into question your noesis. I understand that there are distinctions in our understanding of "for the greater good", but must we devolve into calumny. HAA! I laugh at you my Brian. You never took my politics nor my economic polemics as serious. Does this mean we cannot share a glass of wine? Or is that whine?
-
HAAA! By the way Universal HC of any kind in America is a pipedream. "dragged to it kicking and screaming" ??? I thought you got the sheep into the pen by using a "snarling" dog. The sheep will use what ever is there and will get there by indifference and ignorance. It will be you and I that will bellow our political posturings.
-
I beg your pardon. If it were not true, Americans would move to a system of HC that avoids these out comes. Perhaps you mean these are the ignominies we must endure as the cost of our freedoms.
-
I suspect that those voices we elect as our say in these matters will not avoid this future. I see not effort on the part of "conservative" voices to alter this future. Neither entitlement programs nor DOD expenses are going to face radical reductions. So when will the default wars begin?
-
Now we agree on this. Jared and Ivanka are going to convert this presidency into a New York Liberal's state of mind.
-
So am I right to say all of my taxation that goes to expenditure that I do not "authorize", or would not if asked, are thefts? HELP I've been robbed! You and I are never consulted in this spending of OPM. The best we get is a chance to select our thieves.

Back in the 70's I had two books: one a translation of TTC done in that style with a third panel of a plain English rendition. The other looked at Chinese characters from their earliest form to modern characters. When you store books in a basement that floods you loose track of some things.
-
Flowing hands, I find more resonance in your translation. [it it yours?] Not as a linked to these thoughts, We live as being levered against Being Being is forever revealing to being An edit added thought: Being and being are very western terms.
-
Dust, I add that reading this says so much more to me than any translation.
-
Thank you very much. Is there a text that is written this way? It is exactly what I have been looking for in this iteration.
-
Neither do I because it is such a variant translation. I assumed that if this was in the original characters others would have tip their caps to it. But the language that is repeatedly used leaves me flat too. There are cultural references here that 2500 years ago may have helped me. The "valley spirit" gives me flashes of native Americans looking over the grand canyon. My feelings on this is "the creative is like women bringing forth life. This source of all things is the mysterious gate that all things comes through. " 6 Mitchel The Tao is called the Great Mother: empty yet inexhaustible, it gives birth to infinite worlds. It is always present within you. You can use it any way you want. The last two lines are more individualistic than other translations, so I question how "authentic" they are. English, and Red Pine make use of the veil imagery. From English's "It is like a veil barely seen. Use it; it will never fail. " Do you think this, both of translations, are a way to say that even though we have a sense of this infinite source it is beyond our ken. Still we may use our lack of true understanding as long as we try to resolve the dualism of knowing but not knowing?

Are we also free to cease sending our citizen's tax money to DC? Frankly we were the state that led the way on health care. As to spending OPM on what I see as the appropriate policies, I think I have made that clear. I am not a fan of spending 500B, or will that be 600B on DOD. My voices, my elected officials, will have little input on that matter. Others spending OPM as they see fit. I am visiting Denmark [Cophenhagen] this fall prior to a TA cruise. I wish I could figure out how to deal with my healthcare over there. If I could I'd give up the cruise and live in in Christinia. Problem is Medicare does not travel with you, and I will not live long enough to become a citizen there. Back to topic... Do you get as concerned about how other people spend you tax dollars, your "OPM"? Or is this just an issue about spend OPM on poor folk. Was it Dylan that said "...but you have to serve some one." ? Something like that....

6. THE PERFECTING OF FORM [Aleister Crowley] The Teh is the immortal enemy of the Tao, its feminine aspect. Heaven and Earth issued from her Gate; this Gate is the Root of their World- Sycamore. Its operation is of pure Joy and Love, and faileth never. I find the juxtaposition of "Te" and "Tao" here. Whether appropriately translated, what does this imply?
-
I am glad there is no area code.
-
This is another place where the original language confuses me. In the cultural context of when the original was written/expressed, what is understood as "valley spirit"? How would a sage today express the same thought/feeling?
-
Dust, What I do not get is how this is so offensive to American conservatives. Why when this works for so many is it a non-starter here? From my reading into this, I know that some merger of the two approaches could be developed to work here. I do not expect the American GDP costs to drop as low as in these countries. There are issues of Education debt, malpractice policies, and doctor compensation to be resolved. Also because of defensive medicine America's use of high-end digital scanning would need to be addressed. But good grief! Why is America so proud of its medical bankruptcies and its record of deaths from lack of care?
-
I am sure we are now safer from any future WW3 and we will cut 250B from the Defense budget. As to the health care, we should have gone to a Universal form of HC. I know, not your POV. I've made my case with Brian about income and wealth disparity in America. I have zero concerns about taxing the top 1% at even higher rates for the purpose of "income redistribution". A first step I would like, but will never see, is a removing of the cap on contribution for SS. It is capped at about $120K. I would tax all gross income above that cap so the richest face the same tax burdens as the poor. That will add 13% more of their gross income for redistribution. Using OPM to pay for health, education, and things like nutritional support for those that need it is fine, imnho. Obama, the Dems and Bernie, should have done more. It is immoral that 1% of households earn (in total) more than 66% of all Americans. If the control of personal wealth is included the situation is even worse. As to healthcare, I look to the German, French, Japaneses, and the Scandic nations. They have universal coverage, cheaper health costs, as good and in most cases better outcomes. America thinks leaving 20M+ with no coverage is acceptable. As far as modern/industrial nations are concerned, only in America are people forced into bankruptcy or are allowed to die from lack of care. Only in America is healthcare inhumane and cold blooded. The ACA was bad law because it needed to be a true universal system. But these are MNHOs, so just ignore me. Please ignore me.
