Hi Vovi, Wu Wei Qigong? If Wu Wei is 'doing next to nothing', isn't finding next to nothing to be expected? The Tao Theme of Wu Wei - Non-action The Themes of the Tao Te Ching Wu Wei, Non-action, is one of the most famous Taoist concepts, repeatedly pointed out in Tao Te Ching, the great Taoist classic. We should not hurry to action, since most things in the world take care of themselves if left alone. And when we act, we should do so cautiously, or we might destroy more than we solve. Hi Lost in Translation, Thank you for the introduction. I didn't know that prawns can be married to walnuts thus. Apparently it is a popular dish. Why? I got many hits on U-tube for example - Do you cook? I believe cooking the above will be a breeze. Bon appetit! Hi Prawn, Still lurking? What's up? - LimA

Hi Steve, Many apologies for the extended non-delivery of intention. My recall of “crossing a great river” is in everyday words. Nothing to do with I Ching. Not sure if it can be interpreted a la I Ching. If so, it will be interesting. I undertook a big research to translate my experiences of 20 years in an organisation into the academic domain. The research topic was very close to my heart. But I had to package it in such a way that it was an original contribution to the body of knowledge. I had to traverse uncharted water but I was not fazed by it as the motivation to complete the task flowed in my blood. It started as “crossing a great river”; but for a greater part of it I was completely lost and directionless on the river. I had research supervisors but their help was at best limited. What started as a metaphorical river (external to me) became an inward journey in search of my mind. Yet I had to align my mind with the external dimensions in terms of - right/wrong, acceptable/unacceptable, politics ... (all these looked at from the supposedly 'leading frontier' of the West). Whilst on the journey. the clock was ticking against me and my financial standing was faltering. And I had to face the everyday 'up and down' of living. At many points in time/space then the river was flowing but my boat was cluelessly not moving. My life was at a standstill. The hardest part came when I lost the most important person in my life from life. My life went into a tailspin and I went into depression with six months left to complete my academic pursuits. I could not spell some common words and I could not even remember the names of some of my friends. Despite these, the original passion/fire still burnt within me and from what I understand now - 'divine intervention' stepped in. I meditated and prayed ... and things turned around. To cut to the chase - I reached the intended destination of my journey with a month left. My academic work was endorsed by a professor in the West who was also researching something similar. Looking back, I count these as being instrumental in bringing me back to the mainstream of life - (i) love/support of family/friends (ii) walks in sunshine/rain & (iii) renewed faith in the Divine. I put the Divine as (iii) because it was only at the end did I realised that I was put on a test. I still believe so today. With this realisation, my life is forever changed. - Anand

Hi Stumpich, Don't speak of old age and it will not sneak up on you. Don't boast of youth and life will not leak out from you. Idyllic ignorance. Toxic arrogance. Hi Dada, Finally grasp reality - you are karma-ly reborn. Finally grasp nothing - you are dead and gone. - LimA

Hi Master Lex-ji, You got the wrong guy. I never smile. Life is too painful - I open my heart too much. What smiley-faces? I thought they are useless bitcoins. The two bitcoins in the above quote look odd. The one on the left appears to be in urgent need for a visit to the ladies/gents. And the right one did something wrong; it got such a tight slap on the left cheek that its mouth is skewed right which is wrong. It is now 4 am at my end. Will communicate another time. Good night. - LimA

Hi Stumpich, You are hell of a guy. You are not homeless. You are in the process of choosing YOUR home. Old at 42? Go find a kite and fly it. Then get lost with it. - LimA

Hi ljazztrumpet, I am tickled when I read the above. I share your sentiments. "I'm no longer interested in any type of 'Awakening'/'Enlightenment', etc". Why? Because you are already awakened and enlightened? When you have already cultivated good fruitful apple trees, do you need to (a) plant more trees or (b) buy apples? "Just into making my practical life better and for those I come into contact with". But of course. If you keep your heart open through everything, your pain can become your greatest ally in your life's search for love and wisdom. No pain, no gain? Not moved, not loved? ... Welcome aboard. - LimA

Hi Stumpich, I think in terms of priority, your attention should be focused on how to get back to Seattle in relation to your present strengths/weaknesses. Don't under-estimate your strengths. - LimA
-
Hi Stumpich, I have noted your beginning at TDB as in 2015. But I have not followed up as I think you may want to have a new start. It may be useful to let us know how you managed to get new start at TDB. Useful knowledge for someone who may be similarly inclined. What is a Hobbit hole? I have noted your 'need' to go back to Seattle has overrided your 'want' to. Why? Also there is an 'urgency'. Why? Don't answer if you do not see the need to do so. Your above 'need' and 'urgency' are related to your your present age? How old are you now? Don't answer ... I cannot understand cannabis as 'medicine'. But I can figure out the 'hospital' part. Can you please fill in the gaps? Have you figure out the process of how to get there? And the nitty-gritties? Keep engaging with TDB. The following motivations are especially soughted/sorted for you to peruse at your own time. Thank you to SUCCESS Magazine. - LimA

Hi Stumpich, I have read your latest post and registered its content. It is now approaching lunch-time where I am. I will touch base again. You have come across as an intelligent and sensitive guy. Things will fall in place. Take heart and keep well. You are almost there soon. - LimA
-
Hi Stumpich, So long as you have identified your weaknesses, you are on your way to gain strengths. Don't let go and loose focus. You are not alone. I had the same fear once. Good to know that you have a front door. So now not homeless. Good for you. Please keep on engaging with TDB. - LimA

Good morning mlamarg, Howdy? Aren't things moving too fast for you? Are you sure that what you had shared are real? Not the manifestations of ideas transplanted from external sources into your mind? Be careful of 'garbage in, garbage out'. When we were learning software, our professors reminded us - no 'GIGO'. Don't be fooled by others, and don't fool yourself. Please enlighten - what is OCD? Thank you. -LimA -
Hi Stumpich, Come over for a drink. If you are under-aged, there is plenty of holy water. Marblehead is now drinking himself silly. He is stoned. But he promises to be sober when you turn up. He says - "Just give a drop of holy water". Marblehead asks if you like him to be fatherly or brotherly. He needs to prepare with some homework. Such responsibility ... If Stoney is not your cup of tea, look for Brian. But be pre-warned, he can be very naughty. Bro - just come over. - Marblehead, Brian + LimA

Hi Dada, Free man, free world, free choice. Good/bad, better/worst - all joys. When I am shot at with a good reason, Thanks for making me a better person. If I face one who shoots at random, Welcome to wu wei in my kingdom. Then I will not think & think & think. Bcos I like to drink & drink & drink. Cheers to the weekend. Drink, drink, drink ... - LimA
