Hi I Peng, Food! Welcome, welcome, welcome ... The way to my heart is true my stomach - LimA

Hi nohbody, Do have good memories of the "various military bases" abroad? If yes, why? If no, why? Think - if your domains of growing up were non-military, would you be diffferent person today? - LimA

Hi Lost in Translation, Are you still lurking at TDB? Why do you lurk? Give you some kind of 'high'? Please translate your 'high' into words - simple words. Which other forums had you lurked or still lurking? Multiple lurking = Multiple Big O? From Thesaurus: Lurking = prowling, loitering, skulking, waiting, lying in wait, hanging about, creeping around … You give me the creeps. Get Lost. - LimA

Hi Lost in Translation, You are bombastic. No wonder you got lost. What on earth is 'Heinlenesque details'. You sure is demanding. I am poor and I cannot afford a big breakfast spread. Yes in addition to - buns, chicken congee, saugages, bacons, eggs, papaya, banana ... (all poor man's stuff). As in "both sides now"? Like: I lost count. I cannot afford. "The difference between jam and jelly is the texture. The fruit in jam is either crushed or cut into small pieces, then cooked in sugar long enough that the pieces are spreadable. Where would peanut butter be without its jelly? This gemlike substance is made in a very similar way to jam, except at the end the solids are strained out—or it’s made from juiced fruit. That means it’s a good format for fruits with skins, like grapes, that wouldn’t necessarily make the best jams" (from Extra Crispy) Next time when I go for a meal, you will be the last to know. Get Lost. - LimA

Hi All, Earl Grey and myself are now privately connected through our emails. Let's see what is possible. All good wishes. - LimA

Hi Lost in Translation, Thank you too for your thread. Earl Grey popped up/out when I was trying to be funny. - LimA

Hi Administrators of TDB, When I used the word 'allowing' I meant TBD as a 'platform'; and not as in 'permission'. No permission was sought and no permission given. Perhaps Earl Grey and I were caught up in the flow from moment to moment - all with the good feel of natural brotherhood. This has been said - "It ain't a moment 'till I make it. Have my cake and eat it too": What Earl Grey and his mates are attempting is laudable. They are trying to translate 'Dao de jing' into Singlish. To me it is impressive and praiseworthy. As an academic researcher I believe that I can help Earl Grey and his friends. Will make arrangements to meet up with Earl Grey face to face in Singapore. 'Dao de jing' in Singlish? Whatever it is going to be, Earl Grey and I crossed paths at TDB. Thank you TDB for the platform. - LimA

Hi All, Please excuse the funny conversations between Earl Grey and myself. We were only trying to have some fun with Singlish. What is Singlish? It is: "Colloquial Singaporean English spoken in Singapore. While English is one of Singapore's official languages, Singlish is commonly regarded as having low prestige. The Singaporean government and some Singaporeans alike heavily discourage the use of Singlish in favour of Standard English. Singlish is also heavily discouraged in the mass media and in schools. However, such official discouragement and routine censorship is actually countered by other presentations in mainstream media, including routine usage by ordinary people in street interviews broadcast on TV and radio on a daily basis, as well as occasional usage in newspapers" (Wikipedia). Thank you TDB for allowing us to have our moments of fun. Now back to your Queen's English - Earl Grey. - LimA

Hi Earl Grey, I same same don't like to talk open at TDB. Too many lurkers. I not happy but keep quiet only. We talk talk private later - can or not? Now friends "cry father cry mother". Have to go. Execute me again. - LimA
-
Hi Earl Grey, Now sun goes down, so I go play ball. Talk some more next time OK. Can or not? Execute me. - LimA
-
Hi Earl Grey, So you good friend also? OK la. Maybe can tell small lies. But don't tell people OK? Cross your heart? - LimA
-
Hi Earl Grey, I very good one - cannot tell lies. If caught - Dad whack and Mom smack. Then I die smelly. You very bad one. - LimA
-
Hi Earl Grey, Aiyo. Maybe OK la. - LimA
-
Hi Earl Grey, You very bad. No la. Cannot la. Shy la. ... la la la. My Dad (a staunch Chinese) will definitely kill me. And my Mom will die because she truly loves me. Ayoyo - very sad. - LimA
-
Hi Earl Grey, Eight? Do they differ much from each other? How you know which one is more accurate? You have a personal favourite? If yes, why? All eight in English? ...? ...? - LimA
-
Hi Lost in Translation, You translate very well. I am not lost. You have some poetic genes. From Mom or Dad? ... to share experientially. But of course. Thank you. - LimA
-
Hi emptycup, Howdy? What is a Moana feel? I know what it is like to feel moanful. I have not thought of dancing with the Dao till now. Thank you. We are on the same page. I had the same positive jive when I was learning to dance until this was told in my face - can you stop behaving as if you are moving a refrigerator around? Some people are such discouraging idiots! Why not the vertical? You have problem with gravity? Yes - joy when things move. Effort & new - very natural; don't forget that you were once a very cute baby. Same with me. WOW! Deep. - LimA
-
Hi Marblehead, Most magnanimous of you. Now "you have one up on me" - altruistically. - LimA
-
Hi Lost in Translation, Busy minding your own business? Who knows for sure? What happens, whenever you cannot? LOTS harder. Forward, backward, sideways - including upward and downward? Also '1, 2, 3 ... ' - dimensional? Here and now = the moment? - LimA
-
Hi emptycup, It will be interesting to know how you will "see where the Dao will lead" you. You are putting aside your expectations. So are you going with the flow? Per a flow, are you focused on - (i) the journey, (ii) the destination or (iii) both? emptycup = the Void? - LimA
-
Hi Marblehead, Sure. To each his/her own. It is a real divided world we live in. So any kind of humaneness that builds bridges is fine with me. Comforted by - "I don't talk much ...". Why? Because these are living Taoist dichotomies (seeking dynamic balances): - love/hate, much/little, right/left, right/wrong, talk/don't talk, ... No right. No wrong. I did not differ, I begged to differ. - LimA

Hi Wannabezenmaster, You are in the midst of challenging realities where in situ understanding is key and tops everything. You can always walk away but you choose to stay. My SALUTE. I am humbled by your courage to serve where it is "raw-lly" needed. I believe you have started right. Hang in there. ... and help - yes/no? Very good. But after a while listen to your heart. You are you. True application of knowledge. Very wise. Are you answering a CALLING? Again: True application of knowledge. Very wise. Are you answering a CALLING? Not only men. People in general. Yes/no? But of course. Perhaps there are many interpretations - depending on whose perspectives/realities? All good wishes. - LimA
