Hi Marblehead, Seriously, what can be the likely answers to the two questions per: (a) "I made it out alive" (b) "Some didn't" Per (b), what can their loved ones be thinking? If it brings back painful memories, please stop and look forward. I truly will understand. - LimA

Gentlemen, Both your civilities - heart-warming in terms of respectful disagreement. One is theoretical, and the other - experiential. Yet the sharing is most cordial in disagreeing. Both of you have reminded me of this from Rudyard Kipling which I have posted on another thread: Oh, East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet, Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat; But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth, When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth! This may be read as saying that 'it is indisputable that geographic points of the compass will never meet in this life, but that when two strong men [or ... meet, the accidents of birth, whether of nationality, race, or family, do not matter at allâthe mutual respect such individuals have, each for the character, prowess, and integrity of the other, are their only criteria for judging and accepting one another. Any differences in ethnicity between such individuals are never even considered. silent thunder - your accolade given to the "very naughty boy" thus is touching: You are also very naughty. Why? I have noted this from you - p.s. pink is a bridge . Bridge over troubled water? Behave yourselves boys. - LimA

Hi Brian, Not yet. Will do so this evening my time. Never heard of Funkadelic till now. "... I posted?" Something fishy? Why "sucker" in your preceding post? Surely not a compliment? I am leaving the house now. Good day. - LimA
-
Hi Brian, Thank you. You are prompt. Like Marblehead? TGIF - now at my end. A good weekend. - LimA
-
Good morning Brian, ... carry on please. Thank you. - LimA
-
Good morning Marblehead, Which is your favourite Funkadeli number? - LimA

Hi Jonesboy, It is from Kids TV 123. Still nice for you & me. 7 colours & it is free. For you & me & thee. - LimA

Hi Marblehead, But of course. However, I had already saluted you. For what? For having been to Vietnam and yet you are what you are today. So your truths are mine within the realm of TDB. Respectfully yours, LimA

Hi Marblehead, What truth? Where? Whose? - LimA
-
Hi Jonesboy, Yes, it is; you are so right. It shines on good insights. Fear not a dark night. Light makes it bright. You the are the LIGHT that allows connections honed with permission. May I add that - "when someone connects to me they can experience it also up to their level of purification" - I thought of the rainbow thus: LIGHT => PERMISSION => CONNECTION => PURIFICATION => RAINBOW And then I heard this .... Thank you. - LimA

Hi All, I am not a promoter of fruits. Then why a focus on peaches? Because: So please don't tell me your preferred fruit(s) e.g. figs. Period. - LimA
-
Hi Marblehead, My apology for hitting below the belt. Bad taste on my part towards you especially after an earlier salute. I don't like peach but figs; especially the fig leaves of Eve and Adam. Again I focus below the belt - sorry again. - LimA

Hi Marblehead, As a self-respecting Taoist, will it not be more becoming of you to be a peach tree in your next fruitful life? Why? Appropriate answers may be found in: Trees and religion: Taoism â Arboriculture (arboriculture.wordpress.com/2016/12/10/trees-and-religion-taoism). Such answers from this source pertain to these: (i) "With regards to the important trees ... within Taoism, one can certainly identify the peach ...as occupying a high rank". (ii) "This is because it is said that the eight immortals ... frequented banquets hosted by the Queen Mother of the West (âXiwangmuâ) in the Kunlun mountains". (iii) "The abode of the Queen was home to the Peach Tree of Immortality (the Tree of Life) that blossomed every 3,000 years", (iv) "That is where the eight immortals sustained their immortality, having eaten the fruit of the Tree during a particular banquet". (v) "The (carved) stones and skin of peach fruit are also used to make talismans, as they are used to aid in the process of conducting an incantation". (vi) "The wood of the peach also has religious importance, where it is used to construct ritual instruments that ward off demons". (vii) "Symbolically, the peach also holds importance, where it is the tree that represents youth, marriage, wealth, and longevity". (The Queen Mother of the West, depicted next to deer and almost certainly a peach tree in blossom. Source: Heroâs Journey). Marblehead: pardon me for saying this - you are muddle-headed here as in a few other instances. Are you equating the many seeded figs with those hanging below your belt (which are also many seeded)? I can almost hear you saying this - but of course. I give up. - LimA

Hi rparr, Interesting thought. But can I add that we can shape ourselves to some extent only. Even when we thought that we are shaping ourselves, other forces/energies are at work unknown to us. Such that the outcomes turn out to be different from expectation. - LimA

Hi Deltrus, I took the liberty of visiting your profile page and read some of the postings there - from others and you. These postings are very profound, intense, philosophical, reflective ... from 'livers' of life. They are challenged by life and are challenging back. I will revisit again. I am now challenged by these 'livers' and their life stories. My life thus far paled in comparison to some of them. A few wake-up calls to mull on. Marblehead - i had once jested that you were my 'Taoistical' hero. It is a joke no more. You were in Vietnam. You came back. And now you are at TDB doing a great job. My SALUTE! Deltrus - you are in good company. March on - to the beats of your own heart. - LimA -

Hi Deltrus, I am now on a more serious mode. I really hope that you have made some positive inroads since your initial posting. Guess I do not have to hope because you are already on some good inroads. How do I know? This is how a busybody reasons things out: (i) "I have a solid scientific background, but I'm also not stuck in the constrained thinking that most western scientists are in". (ii) "The stuff I've been experiences daily feels like it goes beyond what can be comprehended through physical means". (iii) 'I'm even starting to believe in metaphysical stuff which is usually the territory of religion". See you are already en-route. Can I give a little solid suggestion? Unlock your mind with laughter. This you surely can. Want to bet? - LimA -

Hi Deltrus, Can you post more, please? It is such a pity that you "probably wont post much". I know that you are busy. But I cannot be not a busybody. So you "probably" will post? Very soon? - LimA -
Hi Brian, Yes. Thank you. Henceforth "My Taoism" in my personal Taoist box (school). I don't want anyone to criticize, assess, condemn ... it. Is that clear? I am not naughty - quite unlike someone. Good night. - LimA
-
Hi Brian, Sure - Taoistically when there is more, there is less. There are apparently many perspective schools of Taoism - more than three. So instead of simplification - we may end up with complications. My preferred school - Experiential Taoism. As usual, you are witty in your above post - just 2 words + 3'.'. Thus can you please endorse that I can label 'Experiential Taoism' as 'My Taoism'? Please say 'yes'. I like to get personal. - LimA

Hi Marblehead, As we grow up/older/wiser, we add on more forms of Daoism? - LimA

Hi Marblehead, BUT OF COURSE. You have aspirations to be an immortal? We had raised this before. Then your immorality was an apparent issue. But here "memory" is another story; so don't be muddle-headed. You are such a headache - I have just popped a panadol. Please do touch base with Starjumper. He lives on high moral ground, atop a mountain. He is apparently an immortal - passing off as a farming dragon. It is my privilege - take back my previous words, regrettably. But "heavy burden"? Whose? Yours/mine? Per this perspective, you are "proper" - to a very big fault. From your postings, you are doing your job properly. Keep it up; but don't let this get into your head. Now I have not such a wish. Why? I am at peace that I am not marble. Why again? Marble can end up in pieces. Thank you though for your consequential advice, I will be careful. You take care too. - LimA -

Hi Marblehead, But of course you right in wronging me. My apology in misunderstanding you. But you are beyond my understanding. Just my luck that I am Taoistically your flipside as you are "never at fault unless I state that I am at fault". Mach is the originator of this thread. Apparently he is quite at home here thus: Really regret meeting/knowing you. But of course I am wrong to deem thus as you are always redeemable. Can I have your permission to piss-off? But of course. Damn it! - LimA -

Hi Marblehead, Beyond that - what? You bet on wishes? No wonder Mach appears to have disappeared. Your fault - period. - LimA -
Hi Stosh, I'm trickling at the shallow end. Near drowning - now and then. Be a friend - peace Bro peace. I'm trying hard piece by piece. Give me a little bit more time. I will pay you rich with dimes. - LimA

Hi Kongming, Thank you for the clear format - it allows me to streamline my own thoughts. In this my response to your posting, I have put the popular misconceptions alongside thus: (i) Daoism consists of two forms, âphilosophical Daoismâ and âreligious Daoismâ. (ii) âPhilosophical Daoismâ is the original form of Daoism and is best understood as âphilosophyâ (disembodied thinking/ way of thought). (iii) Daojia é柶 and daojiao éæ correspond to the Western categories of âphilosophical Daoismâ and âreligious Daoism,â respectively. (i), (ii) and (iii) are great ports of anchor for me to moor and contain my thinking processes without going widely/wildly off-tangent. I like your definition on philosophy as "disembodied thinking/ way of thought" - a simple heavyweight. - LimA
