  1. hello

Hi Marblehead, I lied awake for a while trying to strategise on how to flip the coin tactically and Taoistically at this morning's meeting. Why - strategy and tactics? At all costs - head, I win; tail they loose. Wish me luck otherwise I will get f..ked. But of course, I am no sitting duck. So don't muck with me. Also don't suck up to me. - LimA
  2. hello

Good morning Marblehead, Why is flipping the coin a change? Because its flipsides are disturbed from its tossing, flicking, spinning ...? And things may become topsy-turvey, upside down, inside out, shagged ...? And you may end up exploding (from Thesaurus - flipping = exploding, among others). And then? Again from Thesaurus, exploding = losing your temper, seeing red, going off the deep end, blowing a fuse, going berserk, blowing up, getting mad, going wild, losing your marblehead, being angry, flying off the handle … So you dare to - (i) anyhow flip the coin, (ii) change without deliberating, (iii) push the envelop, (iv) be a maverick, (v) be a unsung hero, (vi) be stone-headed ...? I know you will not do (i) to (vi) ... . Otherwise TDB will flip and explode. Yes/no? Head, I win: tail you loose. - LimA
  3. hello

So that you can continue evaluating and touching? Don't fool me. I may look foolish but I am not a fool. Please don't disturb me anymore. I really need to sleep - an important meeting at sunrise. Selamat malam (goodnight in Malay) Shoo --- - LimA
  4. hello

Hi Marblehead, Thank you for filling the gap so aptly. Yes, I think likewise. Flipsides are the dualistic components of an aspect e.g. (x+)X(x-). As intended in Nature, (x+)X(x-) exist effortlessly (wuweilessly) in a harmonised dynamic balance. Then man/woman appear and this aspect becomes: - (X+)x(x-) - (x+)x(X-) - (x+)y(z-) - (+<)?(>-) - .............. I give up. I just want to sleep now - it is 11+pm on my clock. To hell with the world. Good night. - LimA
  5. hello

Hi Marblehead, Flexibility - but of course. From the Taoist perspective, every coin has two sides as flipsides. A move from one side to other constitutes a change. Yes/no? But the two sides will forever remain as flipsides. Why? Cannot answer now as it is dinnertime at my end. Please take over - can you? Why you? Because I have to do justice to prepared food. Waste not, want not. Yes/no? Thank you. - LimA
  6. hello

Yes. Kar3n. Thank you. I'm now shedding tears of gratitude. - LimA
  7. hello

Good morning Marblehead, It is comforting to note that nothing is cast in marble at TDB. - LimA
  8. hello

Hi Marblehead, Thank you. I am glad that you have indicated this per my query on 'what TDB stands for': "There actually is. I did a quick look but couldn't find it". Actually I find the content of the above quotation pretty acceptable to me as a member of TDB. I feel indudged as this forum is member-centric. My gut-feel is Taoist-centric - so a good marriage in the making. It takes two hands to clap. So what is my role as a DaoBum? I don't want to be bumped - so I will be as 'naughty' as Brian. How? By being - transparent, responsible and responsible; without much effort as in wuwei. And but of course - have fun -LimA
  9. hello

Hi Marblehead; Has it been indicated anywhere what TDB stands for in essence? If so, where? - LimA
  10. hello

Hi Marblehead, Agree. Everything is about living everyday. That's LIFE = Likeness, Innovation, Fun and Equivalence? There is no one size that fits all. So let's try to fit into TDB as comfortable as we can. If there are some misfits - wuwei with a chuckle can help us in missing the fit? - LimA
  11. hello

Hi Marblehead, I have thought about the financial aspect of TDB among others. Now the parts are slowly coming together piecemeal. If TDB is to be looked at managerially per its sustainability - what counts? Guess it can only be as good as the sum of its good parts – members included? Yes/no? - LimA
  12. hello

Hi Brian, I sure can count on you for a response. I will count on the number of times our paths have crossed if I cannot sleep tonight. It is now 11pm at my end. Good night. - LimA
  13. hello

Hi Marblehead, I just returned from my profile page and I have noted 'content count'. Please advise what is meant by it and how it is counted. Thank you. - LimA
  14. hello

Hi Marblehead, All quiet on the Taoist front. I just saw a moonbow. What a sigh(t). - LimA
  15. hello

Hi WuDao, Activities done as a twosome need: (i) Initiator/initiated (ii) Motivator/motivated (iii) Arouser/aroused (iv) Shagger/shagged (v) ... Please add on. You sure can. - LimA
  16. hello

Hi Marblehead, It is perfectly alright with me that I am "totally confused with that one". The way Brian, WuDao and you reminisce about The Shag and the fun you all had is infectious. Thank you. The sharing from the three of you is made possible through the Internet with its right edge. The Internet, being double edged, is ‘Taoistic’ per its yin and yang elements. solstice93 has commented – “I agree, it is very much double edged. Like anything powerful it requires responsibility and accountability”. I have looked up a few threads from you three, and I have registered these – transparency, responsibility and accountability. In addition to a few others, you all are the reasons I choose to remain at TDB presently. Life is about free choice in relation to diversity. It is now 25 June (3+am) at my end. Yesterday was the end of Ramadan and now my Muslim friends are in the celebratory mode. I have been invited to some open houses. I cannot wait to join them in their merry-making and sink my teeth into the FOOD. During the Lunar New Year – I return the courtesy/kindness with social sensitivity in tow. My Muslim friends can eat only halal FOOD. Why am I accentuating on FOOD? Because the most direct way to my heart is through my stomach. I like Taoism philosophically because it shines on a path that makes me see convergence in diversity. To me our world, mind-sets, tolerant levels … are too divisive. My only wish is that, for the rest of my life, I can develop the wisdom to join the right dots. How? For the past year or two I have started to think along these lines: (i) When it comes to X and Y, they have more commonalities than differences; but sometimes we make a big fuss over the latter. What a waste of time and energy. (ii) To be mindful that every downside has its ‘Taoistic’ upside; I can freely choose which side I want/need – moment to moment. (iii) There are alternate paths from EGO to ECO (google Presencing Institute). As an apple tree, I am not grouchy/crabby in defense of what is naturally/humanely good. I keep my silence. I need only/mostly sunshine and rain. Apple trees don’t make noise but their fruits sure taste good. Per the most recent past at TDB, I choose not to read some of the postings. A great weekend. - LimA
  17. hello

Hi WuDao, On a Taoist front: 1. We are never too young/old to do The Shag? 2. Who is active/reactive? You said #4 is more chancey than #3 - but of course. A shaggy weekend. - LimA
  18. hello

Hi WuDao, I am confused thus: (i) After doing The Shag, you dance? (ii) But isn't The Shag itself a dance? (iii) You shag first, then you do The Shag? (iv) Or after doing The Shag, you get shagged? "Shag means the same thing here too" - this I am very clear. It is 4-lettered too. Are you shagging (i mean doing The Shag) this weekend? - LimA
  19. How did you become a Daoist?

How did you become a Daoist? Honest answer - really don't know, I live forward, so no need to know. Better that I know you - yes or no? If no answer from you, then it's no. - LimA
  20. nice to meet you

Hi dje, Nice to meet you too. I find the above quotation from you interesting and these surfaced in my mind: (i) Do you have an inkling what that "something" is? (ii) Guess you do as indicated from these - "energy", "breathing exercises" and "roadmaps". (iii) To "quit" or quiet your mind? (iv) If it is to "quit", won't you be mindless? (v) My Sifu told me to be mindful - different strokes (for different folks)? As the weekend is hours away at my end, (i) => (v) surfaced half in jest. - LimA
  21. hello

Hi Marblehead, But of course. Keep on being the way you are. Don't ever change an original even though you "reserve the right to change my mind". I am sure many would not mind your reserved right, although you may reserve wrongly. But then again you "reserve the right to be wrong". Can I raise up a white flag now to preserve my sanity? Peace Bro' peace. Sorry to hear about your hip. Take care and chin up. Hip hip hooray! - LimA
  22. Looking forward to seeing more of this forum

Hi solstice93, You are cordially invited to read the posts at 'Hello by richardn'. Thereafter please comment in relation to: "If you wanted to know what I will contribute". Thank you for accepting the invitation. - LimA
  23. hello

Hi Brian + Wudao + Marblehead, Good morning. Within today I will invite solstice93 to this thread to engage a 23/24 year old's take on your above posts. When solstice93 is here, please be polite with your words - especially you Marblehead. It is quite alright to introduce The Shag to him; but not too much. Otherwise slostice93 will be shagged. In an average context/environment shagged = tired out. But according to urban DICTIONARY: Shagged The same thing as f..ked. But in the u.k. they say shagged. I shagged that girl i met at the club last night. by Anonymous March 20, 2003 See I told you to be careful with words. Please watch yours especially you - 'measure + touch'. - LimA
  24. hello

Hi richardn, I choose not to click onto a 'Hello' thread. Why? If I do so one time too many, it will be difficult for me to identify which is which that I have participated in. In this instance, I clicked on a 'Hello' randomly and I found you - light and fluffy. I had indicated before that I like chiffon cakes. I am still germinating as a Taoist bum. And you are "looking to grow", Can we develop in tandem? But I do not wish to grow too fast. I like to develop as an apple tree. You like apples? - LimA
  25. How did you become a Daoist?

Hi Lin Lee, I am of Asian heritage but a colonised 'Westerner' once upon a time. I think in English and was nicknamed 'Englishman' once upon a time. Now I am not 'once upon a time' anymore. But a budding Taoist in search of self. I don't wish to be bogged down by 'heritage'. I want to travel light and in full flight. I am nothing but a human being. Born one and will expire as one. Wonder if I can fit in as a respondent to your survey. I do not want to smudge your data base. - LimA
