What is Enlightenment in Taoism and the "goal" of Taoism concretely? Endless cultivation?
Limahong replied to lightbody09's topic in Daoist Discussion
Hi Rara, I cultivate selflessly/responsibly/meaningfully... from Nature externally ... before I selfishly/irresponsibly/meaninglessly... cultivate my body/mind for internal cultivation? But on the other hand ~ if I can cultivate myself selflessly/responsibly/meaningfully/externally/internally... why not? Every good effort... counts... A very good starting point ~ but (a) don't let the tap run wastefully (b) toss away food if it can be shared... (x).... A great weekend. - Anand- 111 replies

Am I doing reverse abdominal breathing correctly?
Limahong replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
Hi Spotless, Re this thread ~ is the activation/energizing/pumping... of the perineum more the focal point rather than any breathing per se? - Anand -

Am I doing reverse abdominal breathing correctly?

Hi joeblast, A 'moment'um changes from one to the next. But 'moment'um continues/builds/energises... from one moment to the next? If the two cherries are thought of as yin and yang ~ what 'moment'um results/ensues... when/after they collide? Does reverse breathing breathing involves Daoist principles...? On 7/13/2018 at 7:11 AM, Aetherous said: It's a method where we alter something, so in another sense, it's unnatural...in the sense that all "methods" are unnatural. Seems to me like we could find that reverse breathing is in line with Daoist principles. Still...just doing one method isn't the Dao. - Anand -

Hi dawei, I am attracted to the word domestication ~ who/what domesticates(d) me... how was/am I domesticated... can I be de-domesticated...? What is the antonym of domestication ~ 'wild' or something else...? In this particular post ~ my mind is on domesticted/wild... and my mind shifted to elephants in relation to 'the veneer of brain-washed domestication'. If I am a calf born in the wild or in captivity ~ am I brain-washed one Way or the other... how different will I be thus? It will be difficult for me to be in close range with a wild calf. But with a domesticated calf... Are the above calves brain-washed? To me ~ not. Are they displaying ~ a beacon of light that reveals a source? To me - yes. - Anand- 111 replies

Hi Rocky Lionmouth, For me the yinyang mulling will never stop. It is nice to register these... your personal takes... Breaking Yin and Yang down further isn’t really possible i think, they’re as far as the breakdown goes before arriving at the whole shabam of the Dao being everything and then some. We are all born from/with yinyang as ONE Kranks shows the way to go to describe any reasonable breakDOWN of Yin and Yang, because you don’t get further up without arriving at the all encompassing and therefore greater unified Dao. It took me quite a while to understand yinyang as ONE. Things started to flow for me when I started to perceived the Dao as ONE ENERGY in all forms... which are transformable and interchangeable. So down it goes, in myriad progressions of yin yang into ever smaller details and so greater number. Just because the 64 hexagrams are something of a finite set that supposedly describes all (aberrant) change it doesn’t mean there’s yet another and another yin and yang subset. It’s elephants all the way down o the utter botto, where there is yet another group of elephants standing on their own lower group of elephants. (All the way down)+n1 where n is the amount of further layers. (Elephant pyramid) .... or at least thats my current take on it. A Daoist take ~ always changes and it is good to keep it current? - Anand -

Hi dwai, Is Taoism more into the Path than the end goal? Can the end goal be really/truly realised? If I can liken wisdom to happiness, then I am inclined towards Taoism as a Path.... When I am on the Path in search of self ~ am I not likely to be more nondual? On a Path in search of happiness ~is unhappiness not a part too? If no two paths towards on are the same, has everyone a right to his/her own path so long as it is not forced on others? lightbody09 - can you please share with us your Path enlighented re Sat Chit Anand? - Anand- 111 replies
