  1. Neiye - Section 1 - The Essential Qi

Hi Yueya, I am a new kid on the Neiye block - so I am quite a blank page relative to it. I am a 'feeling' person and I do not like my mind to be programmed with words. For me ~ nothing tops like experience. As mentioned to you in an earlier post ~ to-date I have read only DDJ Chapter 42 and your booklet... Neiye (Inward Training). dawei's Neiye threads caught my initial attention but it is with your booklet ~ that I had (and still have) an experience thus... "When I first read the Neiye... it spoke clearly to me." Your booklet puts some very clear words to my feelings - thank you. Thank you also for the green light to allow me to communicate with you privately. - Anand
  2. Neiye - Section 1 - The Essential Qi

Hi Bindi, From an inclusive perspective, it is possible that the middle dantian is physically there., From a relativistic perspective, must we also think of the lower and upper dantains? If the middle dantain does not stand alone, then where are the likely physical locations of the lower and upper dantians? The above questions are asked from a shared wholistic perspective. A great weekend. - Anand
  3. Neiye - Section 1 - The Essential Qi

Hi Apech, For a true/truthful seeker on a road less traveled, I think (s)he may like to rephrase your question ~ if it is allowed thus... What is the feeling(s) like for 'collect or store'? Firsthand cognitive awareness comes from direct living experience(s). Semantic discourses of an awareness may have one embroiled in hair splitting. This is from Yueya's Neiye booklet ~ page 26... "Considering humans who have realised the Dao, It permeates their whole body to their pores and their hair." So on a road less traveled, do I touch or split my hair? Please allow me to borrow your ~ " Natura non facit saltus."... - Anand
  4. Neiye - Section 1 - The Essential Qi

Hi Yueya, Each of our own inner experience is different from time to time ~ and from each other? You have apparently been more aware of the inner experience per your own road less traveled. Why? Your milestones re your progress on your road ~ (a) I now have some idea (b) a partial realisation only and (c) I had no idea when I first read the Neiye. A never ending road ~ lifelong experiences and learning? - Anand
  5. Neiye - Introduction - Multi-authors

Hi Yueya, I came across Neiye for the first time only last month. Thanks to dawei's many posts on it, Neiye has now caught my attention for good. I had indicated elsewhere before that I am a third generation overseas Chinese and I am poor in my Mandarin. So I can only resort to the English texts on Neiye. I am comfortable with English texts (I grew up with them) ~ so long as they are honestly written. There is not a perfect text for me - as no two writers can ever be living the same Life. I will find a text meaningful/useful... if I can purposefully/honestly relate it to my life experiences and what some fellow travelers are trying to share with others. Experiential alignment is key for me. Your deference/reference to the ancient Chinese as my spiritual ancestors is moving. Thank you for your pdf file - my second Taoism related text. My first is DDJ Chapter 42 ~ introduced to me by Jim (Marblehead). Like Chapter 42, your booklet has comes alive for me - I can almost feel the qi moving in me experientially (some shared common chords/nadis somewhere?)... when reading it for the first time. I will read your composite a couple more times ~ knowing full well that each time my qi may flow differently within. Thank you for your simplicity re your contribution. You have indicated ~ In the utter silence Of a temple, A cicada’s voice alone Penetrates the rocks. Can ~ (a) my mind/body be a temple (b) my qi be a cicada's voice and (c) my chakras be the rocks? - Anand

Hi All, Experience and empirical reality are important... especially to a researcher. "Empiricism is a philosophical belief that states your knowledge of the world is based on your experiences, particularly your sensory experiences. According to empiricists, our learning is based on our observations and perception; knowledge is not possible without experience". - Study.com If I am deemed to be veering ~ this is my last posting here. - Anand
  7. Nei ye chinese english

Hi dawei, Your last post on this thread was 4 years on... prior to your recent return to it. It will be interesting to know what got you to this ~ "I finally got around to having an interest to read this linked paper...". Will you be reading the linked paper from an inclusive perspective... looking for commonalities... converging to your own perception of ONE? Or...? I am now on a road less traveled with a trusted Bro. We cross paths from directions that are poles apart... but trust keeps us going as fellow travelers. On my part, I consciously walk together with him inclusively... as for his part, I am still figuring it out. We had recently survived a test of... our less traveled path almost terminated... but we got back together again stronger (that is what I feel). As we are more or less on a Taoist path of ONE, I told him this morning ~ I embrace trust/truth anytime over duality/non-duality. Bro replied ~ I don't care about either. In small circles maybe... but with energy words are dust. It was the first time I got to know him in such honest/pragmatic light. Bro and I are now sharing some energy experientially... and his honesty/pragmatism will keep us in good stead... I think. Just some sharing from a real/experiential angle... re an experience within TDB. - Anand

Hi All, Re a good piece of cognitive work ~ knowing its paradigm is important . A paradigm is a general set of philosophical assumptions covering ~ for example (among others)... (a) Ontology - What is the nature of the 'knowable'? Or, what is the nature of 'reality'? (b) Epistemology - What is the nature of the relationship between the knower (the inquirer) and the known (or knowable)? (c) Methodology - How should the inquirer go about finding out knowledge. Hope you will find (a), (b) and (c) useful. - Anand
  9. Nei ye chinese english

Hi NOONE, The term Nei ye appeared on my horizon for the first time (last month) on another thread. I gave it a miss until I come across yours by chance. I have scanned through it for an overview and now I am hooked to know Nei ye more. I am a researcher by training and some of the references are pretty impressive. I am a third generation overseas Chinese and I am poor in my Mandarin ~ so the cited references will be my windows into Nei ye. There is always some loss in any translation. But I will not be too concerned so long as I feel that these are in good order ~ their philosophical ontology, epistemology and methodology. Apology for the big words. I will follow up with further readings on Nei ye... and... (a) I may/will not understand everything... but I will read with an open mind. (c) I will align my experiences (or lack of) with this thread and further readings. (d) I will discuss with trusted travelers on roads less traveled. Thank you for your thread and I am not regarding it thus ~ "Bringing more resources is like hiding one tree by pouting it in a forest." - Anand
  10. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi OldDog, Polonius: My liege, and madam, to expostulate What majesty should be, what duty is, What day is day, night night, and time is time, Were nothing but to waste night, day, and time; Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit, And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes, I will be brief. Your noble son is mad. . . . Hamlet Act 2, scene 2, 86–92 - Anand
  11. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi dawei, I can almost hear Jim guffawing - Hehehe. - Anand
  12. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi OldDog, A Bum has PM me thus... "The topic of DDJ Chapter 42 has veered too far. So I don't really expect anyone to comment." (S)he is thinking of splitting it. Really? How? If the topic on Chapter 42 is to be (or can be) split, is it because...? Way gave birth to one,and one gave birth to two.Two gave birth to three, and three gave birth to the ten thousand things. Then the ten thousand things shouldered yin and embraced yang, blending ch'i to establish harmony. - David Hinton 2002 - Anand
  13. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi OldDog, "three" as in a Trinity ~ in which the perceptual whole is greater then the sum of the parts... "A triangle is perceived in the figure. This happens because you perceive the whole image as one." - A Render Blog Another synergy in perception? - Anand
  14. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi dawei, My feelings/thoughts pertain to ONE experience ~ not an experience. Here ONE hints at an experience felt with the traveler's Taoist perceptions (rightly/wrongly to others). They pertain to a nondescript road less traveled. The ONE experience is shared per one perceptive path : A + B => C => DC It start with A and B as in Yin and Yang ... leading to C ... and DC ... and beyond... With 'A + B + C' ~ are you on another path which is different from mine? If so, I will suggest nothing as I cannot suggest anything. My path has DC and not D (which I cannot comprehend). A + B => C => DC ~ in not definitive. I am new on this path and 'a part of the 10,000' is beyond my embryonic status at the moment. Thesaurus synonyms of pendantic ~ abstruse pompous stilted academic arid didactic doctrinaire donnish dry dull egotistic erudite formal fussy hairsplitting learned nit-picking ostentatious overnice particular pedagogic priggish punctilious scholastic schoolish sententious A + B => C => DC is antonymous to pendantic. It is a personal mental model per a quiet/private road less traveled. - Anand

  16. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi OldDog, Pearls of wisdom...? Can almost picture Jim THERE ~ chuckling at us re Chapter 42. - Anand
  17. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi dawei, I try to roughly sense the thoughts behind Jim's ... 'What words?' - what even if Jim ha(d)s Chad Hansen's published work? - Anand
  18. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi dawei, From an "experience of existence" on the road less traveled ~ (a) "The 'three' are the result of the polarity of Yin and Yang" ... A + B => C C is three (b) I've seen some explain it as thus, Yin + Yang + their interactive result ... A + B => C => DC DC is C re an interactive result linked to Destiny - Anand
  19. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi voidinyinyang, From ~ Rudyard Kipling's "The Ballad of East and West" ... Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment seat; But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth! - Wikipedia FOUR SEAS - ONE FAMILY... - Anand
  20. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi vonkrankenhaus, Words are not just words. I will not take words for granted Better a mental model without words. - Anand
  21. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi vonkrankenhaus, Per your above input, I responded ~ But now that I am out of the womb, I don't know what I don't know. And you added... I find the above engaging ~ (a) 'in womb' - I apparently knew everything without words? (b) When I am now outside, you are implying that I also know everything without words ~ 'just like inside the womb'? (c) I don't know what I don't know - because of words? Is 'in womb' different from 'just like inside the womb'? I ask because of the italicization. - Anand
  22. How does your Garden Grow

Hi middle_path, VERY GOOD. Thank you. I look forward to the pictures. - Anand
  23. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi OldDog, When I have no clue And there is no glue I will not be ~ blue I like to go on floral trips knowing full well that I cannot/will not be able to have all the blooms in my garden... There are many pieces in my life and l only connect the dots that spell meaning and life. Whenever I get new blooms in my garden, I am over the moon ~ especially the unexpected ones. Bro ~ life is a garden, just let 10,000 flowers show off... Let us 'live and let live' to stay alive ... 'A + B => C => DC' ... as 'simple' as ABC in Destiny. - Anand
  24. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 42

Hi voidisyinyang, Honestly ~ "I don't know music theory" and I like to borrow this from OldDog as a reiteration... But something in this from you caught my attention... It is the Pythagorean theorem... But I am not associating Pythagoras theorem (PT) with music theory ~ but my "experience with existence (E:E)" on a road less traveled thus... A + B => C => DC Per E:E ... ~ A2 + B2 > C2 which is unlike... For PT... ~ a2 + b2 = c2 As 'A2 + B2 > C2 ' ~ synergy comes into being. You may be curious to know what 'DC' is. It is C associated with Destiny. My apology ~ I cannot divulge too much as A, B, C and DC pertain to a private unmusical road less traveled. - Anand
