I use brainwave entrainment daily via binaural beats. And I must say that after meditating without them vs. my progress meditating with them, there has been a huge leap by adding binaurals. People get caught up on the idea of using an aid for meditation, but imo, we should use any advantage we can get because enlightenment can take a while in most cases. If we had a guru to meditate with the gurus higher consciousness and qi flow would naturally cause an entrainment in the student to resonate with the higher consciousness and qi of the guru. The same theory works with binaurals. I previously used holosync prologue which is nice but kinda pricey(I got it for free). I also use a program by the immrama institute called insight, which is very similar to holosync an is much cheaper (40 bucks or so). The Insight cd's use a proprietary patent pending harmonically layer technology using a phi cascade of all brainwaves. It's quite good. If anyone were to get just 1 binaural cd, it would be insight by immrama for sure. For a gamma set, look no further, Dr. Jeffrey Thompsons gamma meditation system is great. Honestly the best 10 bucks I have spent on any meditation item. You go so deep with this cd. I combine it with the immrama insight cd and listen to then together on my computer. http://www.amazon.com/Gamma-Meditation-Sys...6868&sr=8-1 Here is a great article on a study done with tibetan buddhist meditators showing high amplitude gamma waves during meditation: http://www.urbandharma.org/udharma8/monkstudy.html Binaurals did to meditation, what clubbells did to strength training. It creates gains much quicker than with just body weight, and does not damage the body. The effects of binaurals are like weights, they entrain or pull your mind into deeper and deeper states of consciousness training your brain to sustain them on their own by creating changes in the brain called neuroplacticity. These changes in the brain are not temporary, but permanent just like regular meditation. The brain is forced to change shape and become stronger to support higher states of consciousness, like how resistance training or cardio forces the body to adapt hence developing strength and endurance. It's the same thing with binaurals except it's on the brain. I also use neodymium magnets for my qigong. I have heard people say that it makes your qi flow unbalanced, but I don't think that's true. Most meditating practices are done in the mountains where the paramagnetic and diamagnetic forces are much stronger that in regular places. I have tried using qigong both with and without the magnets and the difference is instantly noticible, Peter Ragnar was right. I also use rudraksha during meditation, and wear it around daily for health benefits. Researches have shown that Rudraksha beads have certain powerful electromagnetic and accupressural property known as Piezoelectricity. A piezoelectric material when subjected to electric potential undergoes deformation in molecular level and develops a charge equal in potential but opposite in polarity. The heart pumps blood continuously and hence there is a constant bio electrical field developed around the heart. Rudraksha beads are worn around the heart and they instantly catch this electric potential and develop an electromagnetic potential of same intensity but opposite in polarity (positive or negative ). If the heart pumps faster electric potential of higher intensity is developed effecting a higher and opposite polarity of electromagnetic potential in Rudraksha beads. Thus Rudraksha beads instantly stabilize the blood circulation and brings it to normal level. I use a myriad of aids in my practice from binaurals, to rudraksha, to neodymium. I believe in getting all the help on can get, because the best help is self help. Another cool things that Max mentioned in his kunlun book is the usage of a meditation cloak or robe, and not washing it because it collects qi emitted during meditation, I might need to invest in one of these. Actually receiving a mantra from a guru is not necessary. Those who have unwrapped the power of a mantra through many repetitions achieve something called "Mantra Siddhi." This means that they have attained some measure of power and proficiency with the mantra. At this point, they may give a mantra to others "with power," meaning that the recipient will achieve results faster that doing it without having received it "with power." However, Sanskrit mantras are your spiritual birthright since they are directly linked to the chakras. They will work even if you read them from a book and begin practice. The minimum number of repetitions to achieve Mantra Siddhi is generally recognized as 125,000.

Snipping means he was cutting, like physically with a sharp tool like a knife or scissors. I am also on the ayp forums, but I heard cutting the frenum is not necessary for true khechari mudra. Kechari mudra is achieved by practicing talavya kriya. Students are advised against cutting the frenulum. Kechari can be achieved through dedicated practice of talavya kriya which brings about kechari naturally. This is the kechari mantra: Hrim Bham Sam Pam Pham Sam Ksham I believe it needs to be said 500,000x to activate the kechari chakra this way. Oh, and I did a search, sorry for reposting the same subject Yoda.

I currently meditate in a chair. I can do the half lotus, but it's not that comfortable for me, the discomfort takes away from my dhyrana practices. I wish some one would make a complete step by step dvd or book you can buy specifically for the half and full lotus positions, if anybody knows of one, please let me know. Here is a great article written by drew on the purpose of the full lotus: http://www.mind-energy.net/archives/162-Yo...psychology.html Namaste, Immortal

I personally feel that the techniques presented by Max actually do work, and I don't believe that he is a fraud. BUT, I do believe that is system is like a hodgepodge of techniques from different schools with no real systematic methodology. He just says it's the quickest of the quick, but does not explain how it works. People like mantak chia have gone through great lengths to explain why and how the white cloud alchemy formulas work. Refinements have also been made to fine tune and enhance the process. The system he teaches imo lacks the structure of teachings like the universal dao, dzogchen, or kriya yoga systems. I also do not like the fact that he keeps saying that you are your own teacher; AFTER, you get this energy transmission and initiation. With practices like universal dao you don't need these deekshas to make the system work, just practice, practice, practice. I think that if one truly want to live the path of alchemy, than the universal dao is probably the most complete and systematic method out there, kriya yoga taught by the bihar school is also pretty clean cut. If you are a layman and don't want to spend time truly learning the inner workings of alchemy then study kunlun. I respect the depth that people want to go. Kunlun works for the layman, and is designed for him, it's a no fuss system of alchemy. The universal dao is designed for the true alchemist who wants to know the ins and outs of the system and truly master their chi.

I can't believe it, it's really that simple? It just amazes me that after all the research I have done on kriya yoga, universal tao, and dzogchen that there exist a teaching out there that is more powerful than those teachings, and yet it is so remarkably simple. The book is so little, and yet it teaches all 3 stages of kunlun nei kung. Wow! I knew it was simple, but I wasn't expecting it to be this simple, that is great.

I am not knocking the kunlun practice, just merely playing devils advocate for the sake of balance. We just cannot always look at something from one point of view. Think about it, I am remaining skeptical about kunlun, but still exercising my curiosity by doing the practice. It's best to have a little skepticism and curiosity when dealing with something new. Not to mention, I think it's strange that some one at Max's level of attainment would not be eating a healthier diet. I have heard people say he drinks sodas, eat burgers pizza etc..., I don't even do those things. Not that he has to be vegetarian of anything, I just expect someone of his level of practice to have a lot more discipline with the sources of energy they use to power their body, that' all. People like mantak chia, choa kok sui, yogananda, michael winn et al, seem to eat very healthy diets. Some vegetarian, but all most likely eat a diet rich in organic foods. Max claims he can use any source for energy due to his neigung skill. I have seen and know members of universal tao go bigu as a result of the practice, as heavier foods are more taxing energetically. They are also not as clean. Fresh, clean, organic foods are light and facilitate a healthy energy body. I don't know about you but I would not run a lambo on low octane fuel, just because I could, I would use the highest octane fuel I could get my hands on because I know the engine would prefer it. High performance bodies require high performance foods. I have personally spoken with Michael Winn who is one of the most knowledgeable men I have ever spoken with. He studied with max years ago, and knows his methods, and he still decided to keep studying the white cloud's formula. He said that kunlun 1 was mostly about a slow, external method of kan and li, sitting for an hour a day, using hand mudra to reverse left and right channels and focus them into a chi ball. Good method for people with weak internal skills. I still believe of the two that the universal tao is more systematic.

"Miracles" you personally witnessed.

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." --A. Einstein -
Well, not directly. He says an hour of kunlun is equal to 100 years of practice in ANY other discipline, this is a very bold claim, and I think it's wrong. Maybe compared to something like Zen, that may be true, but not other internal alchemy styles like kriya, dzogchen, arhatic yoga, or universal tao. Even though kunlun may be a very powerful system of neigung, it's not that much more powerful than disciplines like kriya or universal dao. If that were so, people would be experiencing the antakharana (a bridge that causes heaven qi to pour down) and kundalini awakenings, development of the golden embryo would easily occur in just the first practice. I believe the pillars of bliss he speaks of is due to the development of the antakharana which a spiritual bridge of light that joins us from the upper worlds or heaven. When this original qi known as heaven qi pours down on a person is it known as "pillars of light." So this is probably the downpour he is talking about. I actually experienced this downpour of light while practicing an arhatic yoga technique developed by Master Choa Kok Sui of the pranic healing system, it's called the twin hearts meditation, http://meditationontwinhearts.org/index.html. I actually experienced heaven qi after about 1 wk of practice for about 20 min each session. So far with about 1 wk of kunlun I have experienced nothing other than some slight heat, magnetic lightness, and muscle trembling from holding the position. I am guessing that one has to go to one of his 300 dollar seminars to receive an "energy transmission" that he doesn't name, in order to make the practice effective. I found universal tao to be effective with just practice on my own, with no sacred super duper energy transmissions. I think energy transmission like deeksha and shaktipat are cool, since I myself received shaktipat from a siddha yogini myself. But it seems as though things don't begin until you receive this transmission, this is very similar to the siddha yoga tradition they start with shaktipat and then engage in practice, so the concept is not foreign to me. But 300 for energy transmission is a little expensive imo, I got shaktipat for like 150. It take about 3 years of practices to become pregnant with the immortal embryo, and about 18 years of continued neigung to develop it to maturity so one can either leave the body in a mahasamadhi kind of way, or possibly attain the rainbow light body. So unless all that happens during your first kunlun session, his 100 years claim is bogus. No matter how powerful it may be it is not equivalent to 100 years of practices in other systems. Maybe I should go to a seminar. To be honest I am not interested in Max's powers, I am interested in enlightenment, siddhis are cool, but enlightenment is the goal. Is max enlightened?

The practice is amazingly simple, but so far, I have not felt any out of ordinary affects what so ever, other than trembling from holding an isometric posture for a while. I am having a hard time believing systems like the universal tao or kriya yoga are inferior to this practice. I will do more practice. I wish there was a way to test your chi, so we could see if the practice really does what it says it does. Where is a gas discharge visualization machine when you need one. I find the practice to generate chi, because I do feel energy generated, but it's not like how I felt doing the microcosmic orbit or anything like that. It is actually more similar to zhan zhuang than any other practice that I have seen. Zhan zhuang is a static practice as well that causes severe trembling that is suppose to activate and clear the nadis and chakras by removing blockages. I believe the kunlun 1 is a purification method and a similar neigung to zhan zhuang. I don't see anything particularly unique about max's neigung, but with more practice maybe I'll change my mind. On a side note, I also find the system confining. Max says that we should abandon all other neigung, qigong, and yoga. Most systems can easily be mixed, and most practitioners know and perform a series of energy exercises from many different systems. Why should kunlun be any different.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't seem to hold this position for an hour, my arms get way too tired. After like 10 min, I am straining. Am I suppose to work up to an hour or something?

Has anyone on this forum heard of or tried the sacred medicine from the Amazon called Ayahuasca. I have decided to add the sacred sacrament that was developed by thousands of years of research done by the vegetalistas of the ancient shamanic tradition deep in South America. Ayahuasca is an entheogen which produces powerful visionary experiences to the user that act as a form of cleansing of the mental and vital bodies of the individual. Ayahuasca can and should be used in conjunction with sadhana like dhyana, neigung, and qigung. Ayahuasca is not a drug, it's a medicine that can aid one in their spiritual practice. It is not a replacement for other disciplines like internal alchemy or meditation, it is simply a powerful tool for physio-psycho-spirituality. This plant has a myriad of physiological and psychological benefits. The drink is a natural purgative. This can aid in purging environmental and dietary toxins. It is also a very powerful aid to clearing out the nadis and the mind. Ayahuasca gives one and intense experience into the spiritual world in your subconscious mind. You will be in direct contact with yourself expressed in various archetypes, the usage of this drink has been used in shadow work to produce a dark night of the soul. One encounters different archetypes spoke about in analytical psychology created by Carl Jung. This beverage also has a very unique characteristic, it creates a normalization of serotonin in the brain. This is the only medicine in the world known to actually increase the brains ability to absorb serotonin. Most "psychedelics" like lsd do damage the brain, not to mention a lot of psychedelics are addictive, not ayahuasca. Ayahuasca has actually been used successfully to treat drug addictions by normalizing serotonin levels (believed to be the cause of addictions) and give deep spiritual insight by putting on in direct contact with the self usually in the form of symbols like a female snake. Carl Jung after years of therapy for alcoholism with Rowland H, with almost no improvement, jung recommended spiritual experience as a form of treatment for alcoholism. Ayahuasca does just that, it creates the sacred communion with the spirit worlds of the unified field of consciousness also known as the akashic records. The information gathered from drinking ayahuasca can come in the form of knowledge usually communicated via the language of the subconscious i.e. symbolism. Ayahuasca is again not a drug, nor a free ticket to enlightenment, it's simply a powerful tool that can be integrated into ones sadhana, or can be used for deep psychological change. I know many eastern schools shun the usage of entheogens, but we also have to remember that western religions reacted the same way when presented with meditation. They viewed meditation as demonic in nature, which could not be further from the truth. The usage of entheogens has been bastardized in our society due to the hippy movement in the 60's-70's. The usage of cannabis, lsd, ecstasy and magic mushrooms did not produce the psycho-spiritual changes necessary for real growth, and actually was a form of escapism. Ayahuasca cannot be abused for recreational purposes unlike lsd and shrooms. You are will literally experience the highest peaks of ecstasy and the lowest valleys of agony. Both pleasure and pain, because one has to face the shadow self, also known as the archetype within ones self that is the store house of all repressed desires and emotions, this can be a very painful and frightening experience, and most who try ayahuasca do not like because most drug users are after a high, not real spiritual growth. The active alkaloids of the ayahuasca brew are dmt and harmaline (which is a mono amin oxidase inhibiter). DMT is naturally produced by the brain during birth, NDE, OOBE, dreaming (both lucid and non lucid), and death. Which is why DMT is known as the spirit molecule. Mantak Chia actually designed a retreat known as dark room that creates this experience by being in complete darkness for 12+ days, this creates the same effect as drinking the ayahuasca brew, and are both equally beneficial for spiritual maturity and growth. DMT is known as a powerful visionary substance that is used to strengthen and decalcify the pineal gland. I think that both ayahuasca and dark room technology should be further researched in an effort to understand and realize our nature. Before anyone decided to post up something negative about the usage of ayahuasca for cognitive and spiritual therapy, please do some research on it. http://www.biopark.org/peru/ayatherapy.html http://www.biopark.org/peru/udv-serotonin.html http://www.newbrainnewworld.com/?Altered_S...sp%3B:Ayahuasca http://www.universal-tao.com/dark_room/maximal.html This is a particularly great article about an individual using ayahuasca to cure his depression. http://www.matrixmasters.com/blog/2007/01/...t-powerful.html This is an exceptionally great article on dmt. http://www.akasha.de/~aton/DR.html

Yeah, Graham is the man. I enjoy his theories on ancient history in relation to entheogenic substances. When I do aya this time I will be with a friend of mine that has fascilitated Santo Daime ceremonies using the aya brew, so I am glad my first attempts failed, because I could have hurt myself. Now I will have a seasoned hand to help me, as fate would have it. I cannot stress this enough, experience is key here. Ayahuasca is not a toy.

Yeah, I personally have been wanting to try ayahuasca for a while now. I bought B. Cappi and P. Viridis, those are the two most common ayahuasca ingredients. But when I mixed them, they were duds, I did not get any visions. I think the vendor gave me poor quality ingredients. I am buying another set of different admixtures from a very reputable source, Mimosa Hostilis & Syrian Rue this time, and get enough for several batches, and drink one batch slowly, if it doesn't work after about 1hr, I will slowsly sip some of another dose until I get effects. I don't have the money nor the time to go to Thailand and go to a dark room retreat, that would be awesome. I would also love to go to the amazon and actually try traditional aya with real shamans, and have them use their icaros (power songs) to help heal my mental and vital bodies. For now, I will purchase them for myself, I have wanted to do it for a while, but never had the time to dedicate, now for my b. day on Jan 24th, I have a week off, so I will do it then. The brew takes all day to cook, and the effects last for hours, plus I fast during the day of the ritual, and observe the dietary and sexual preparations 3 days before and after the ritual. The amount I will be buying I will be able to do it quite a few times. I will do it once a month if I can this entire year. I have heard some amazing stories on the new and one on one with someone who has done an aya session, they found the session deeply spiritual and holistically therapeutic. I am very stoked to try it.

I have a question. I don't know much about the kunlun system of nei kung, but I am very interested. From the video on his site and the experiences spoke about by the members of this great forum, he seems to be the real deal. I thought the video was a fake when I first saw it, but now I am thinking other wise after reading some of the posts on the personal experience with Max. What are the differences between kunlun and mantak chia style nei kung? Is kunlun a more powerful system? What is this "transmission" I keep hearing about? It it some sort of deeksha like shaktipat? I have recieved shaktipat already from the siddha yoga foundation thanks to gurumayi. Any opinions would be appreciated. Namaste

No personally I have never tried to do any form of qigung with magnets. I just wanted to know if any body had tried it, and if it is safe to do magnetic qigung daily along with kunlun neigung.

Dream yoga is a very powerful practice that has recently in the last 20-30 years been brought to light by a man named Stephen Lebarge. His book entitled, Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming is a classic. The main difference between le barge and traditional dream yoga is their cosmology. Le Barge does not use ld for spiritual realization, but more as a novelty. I think is can be used for psychological treatment and spiritual attainment. Just like meditation can be used for stress release and relaxation, it has a higher purpose which can be used for enlightenment. There is a great video that I have been contemplating on buying. It's about astral projection and lucid dreaming: http://www.saltcube.com/welcome.jsp I've heard people say great things about the video. If you are interested, check it out, 20 bucks is a steal.

Yes I am very interested in studying the kunlun system as my first taste of nei gung. I meditate daily but I do not do any form of energy exercise at the moment. I do some pranic breathing and I do superbrain yoga almost daily, but that's about it. Do any of you guys do magnetic qigong as taught by peter ragnar? I heard he has very powerful qi flow. I have read about some of the experiences with magnetic qigong, and they are quite incredible as well. Can one do kunlun nei gung and magnetic qigong at the same time?
-
I am very interested in spiritual evolution. I have researched various systems of yoga like universal tao, arhatic yoga, kriya yoga etc..., but I simply want to most efficient practice that I can get my hands on. I am a pragmatist at heart, and only wish to use the most efficient systems of yoga. I too find mantak chia's system overly complicated. I have glanced at a lot of the books necessary for the formulas in the universal tao system, and yet I do find them very sophisticated. If I can accomplish the exact same result faster and more efficiently with the kunlun system, then i would rather do that. I just ordered Max's book, and will take a look at it. I appreciate the replies guys, really I do. Keep them coming, anybody else have any experience in kunlun and or universal tao system? I would like your input, thanks in advance. After all Bruce Lee said it best, "Simplicity is the end of the art, and the beginning of nature."

I have viewed a couple of the videos from lama dorje and john chang and I found them to be quite interesting. To most who do not understand the esoteric laws of the universe it can be hard to believe. I was first exposed to these kinds of siddhis by reading some of Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda. I thought it was a great book, but of course, us western students would like to see such things. I found a great video which I don't think has been posted before on a qigong master using the fire element for healing, in parapsychology called pyrokinesis. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=57...h&plindex=0 This video actually shows and infrared video of the masters hands during the demonstration, it's quite amazing, you cannot doubt the validity of this. Even though the john chang and lama dorje vidoes are great there is no scientific equipment that could measure their power (even though they tried in the John Chang video). I would like to see some of the nei kung masters on gas discharge visualization or kirlian based imagery. Enjoy.

I think that super brain yoga is a great and wonderful process for using the energy of the basic chakra to bring it up the spine to energize the brain. It is a very very easy technique. I perform the technique daily before meditation to increase my concentration and brain power for dharana. I personally think that the books by the pranic healing organization are a little expensive. Considering the simplicity of the technique I think 20 dollars is a little inordinate, but the technique does work quite well, so price is in the eye of the beholder. I personally feel the superbrain yoga technique is very powerful as well as functional. So far I have found the books by mantak chia, choa kok sui, and yogani to be some of the most hands on and comprehensive books I have bought.

I was just about to say that, it's unlikely that his palm would have been 202 f and he would have not been in some sort of discomfort. Yes it could be some sort of chemical reaction, but 202 f would be very very hot to the touch. I do have to admit the foil and paper towels to seem suspicious, not to mention unorthodox for a tcm healer.

I am interested in learning kunlun nei kung, but I read a post that one of the pre requisites of the systm is 100 days of celibacy! Wow, that is not easy. Is it possible to still have non ejaculatory sex like the key sound system? I am currently in the process of learning the system and wonder if it can be integrated into the practice. Namaste
-
I still think it may be a good idea to not ejaculate, I'm learning the key sound mmo technique right now.
