@Nungali From what I understand from reading books and listening to stuff, magic works better when certain conditions are already set in the physical/material world and/or when your actions support whatever you wish to manifest. I would think then think that one super important condition is being connected to the rest of the world. The spirits from the invisible, yes of course, but also the people. Can it work if you are only connected to the non-manifested? Is the idea of some occult master sitting isolated in his lair and influencing the world only though his army of spirits realistic? I would think that the ultimate practitioner has achieved perfect balance in standing both in the invisible and the mundane. Now of course, for your small type of magick manifestation like finding a job, finding girlfriend, perhaps not super important to be super connected. But I was thinking big. Magick for influencing events on a global scale type of stuff. The internet and technology is what allows us to be connected to the rest of the world in a way that was not possible before. So I would think that there will also be new magicks that were not possible before. Unfortunately I don't know much details about how magick works, and no practical experience whatsoever . So this is only my fantasy of how it could work. -
@Nuralshamal Thanks for sharing! Seems you put in amazing effort and consistency with the hindu practices, and now perhaps getting the rewards from that. For me, some things also seem to point at liver problems from TCM point of view (but some to others also) + the waking up at night and no longer able to sleep. But I've been practicing for a while now. There is slow process going on, and I think I will be able to fix it eventually. Gonna check out that book!

@Nuralshamal Thanks for sharing all your experiences, it's a nice reminder to myself that LD is also something I wish to explore. Perhaps I should try again. I did play around a little bit. I find that when dream journalling, I go pretty fast from remembering almost nothing to remembering multiple dreams each night with lots of small details and this within a few days. Doing that sometimes gives me spontaneous moments of lucidity but these break of almost as soon as I become conscious of them, very unstable. This and the fact that my sleep is pretty bad makes me think I should spend a little more time doing meditation, qigong, ... A theme which pops up sometimes in my dreams is heights. Not necessarily falling off stuff, but always something with heights, standing on something high, climbing, falling, ... So perhaps there is also some chakra connection stuff? Could you maybe share the title of the dream yoga book? Also very curious if people here have mastered the art of lucid dreaming and how it has helped them in their training.

@Master Logray Ahh, not sure where I saw this qigong in dream thing, can't seem to find it back in my notes. I read that too that in some schools high level practitioner doesn't dream at all. But it's not the same everywhere. Other schools say that it's a waste of time to not (lucid) dream, so much stuff to do there in your dream. Why waste 1/3 of your day doing nothing. Although there are also some practices connected to being conscious in deep sleep state without dreams. If you have full lucidity I believe you can also change the scene of your dream at will. -------------- Another interesting stuff to do: going back into your nightmare :D, or look for a teacher in your dream to learn from.

Quality of elemental means things like what kind of material was used to create the device, I assume? What kind of metals, other chemical elements, ... For sure I am still operating mostly (or even only) from the lower physical planes. But I do some trainings (meditation, qigong, ...) and am working to break through to the higher levels. -
I have some trainings on lucid dreaming. Mostly basic stuff you can find everywhere. Played around it a little without success. But my sleep in general is very bad so I put it aside for a while. Practices on the upper dantian makes for quite solid dreams I find. It gives them a different kind of quality. (haven't experimented much with this.) But my other dantiens are not very developed so I put upper dantien practices aside for now. I heard somewhere that it is very interesting to watch yourself in a mirror during lucid dream! And you could also try to do your qigong practice during your dream.

Wonderful! For someone with sufficient comprehension of both magick and science, there will be lots of possibilities. And we know military is the playground for the development of these high tech kind of things. What will they have already developed I wonder? Seems like it's a good time to start developing defensive mechanisms, to protect oneself against these kind of things. -

This was not what I meant in my first post but it is definitely relevant!! I changed the topic title so that it includes other types of technologies like these as well. What you posted proves that humans have no boundaries and will use anything they can get their hands on to control others. At some point the bigger players in the world will also get their hands on occult and magick. Of course this already was the case in the past. Faraos and emperors used magick to enforce their will. But perhaps industrialization and science left magick in the dust. But I think it will be back soon. And this time it will be a combination of science/technology and occult/magick. -

My idea is that many magicks (creation type magick) starts from intent. The practitioner can send messages into the internet that are connected to/represent this intent. Not only will these messages be stored on the internet, but they can also reach some or even many many people all over the world. And perhaps this would help in the manifesting of the desired result. Off course this is not a very crazy idea. All successful conscious creations (magick or non magick) more or less goes from intent -> intermediate steps -> manifestation. When I said that dark forces are already using it successfully I meant things like advertising companies or political organisations using internet to influence people. I'm just wondering if some of these organisations are perhaps also already using magick behind the scenes. If so, then perhaps that would explain some of the things happening in the world these latest years. If not - and if my hypothesis is correct - then they could achieve even so much more than what they are already doing and that would make the upcoming years very interesting. In other words 'the stage (internet infrastructure) has been set, everybody is connected(social media and stuff)'. From chinese metaphysics point of view, in 2023-2024 we are transitioning to period 9 which is connected to fire. Fire represents technology but it also represents spirituality and magick. Everybody can also feel the tension and instability in the world. War and bigger conflicts are almost inevitable and the technologies such as the internet and magick will be IMO key factors in determining the outcome. Things like Elon Musk attempting to acquire Twitter doesn't suprise me at all. He is a pioneer and understands the directions the world is heading and it is clear he wants to be involved. And whether he knows it or not, he is IMO also a person very much in connection with spirituality (even though he may not be aware of it. But if not, I think he will very soon) -
Perhaps you're that kind of person that has to do/study it all by themselves. (can also sometimes see this from your bazi chart) For both systems there is a good amount of information available on the internet/books and there are somewhat active communities that can aid in the learning process and make it more fun. Anyways western astrology and divination systems offer more or less the same. Gotta find what suits you off course.

They are closely related, share the same chinese metaphysics concepts as a base, and same calendar also. Tung shing or often written tong shu is date selection system to specifically find good and bad dates for stuff like wedding, ... Bazi is the astrology component. https://bazi-calculator.com/ is probably the most popular online calculator for it.

Yea, sorry bout that Bazi is a form of chinese astrology, also called four pillars of destiny. I would say it's a little bit simpler than most forms of astrology. Doesn't explain everything, but can still give you a good idea of yourself, your problems, your strengths. Year cycles and 10 year cycles indicate how your 'luck' can change. With Yi Jing I mean I Ching divination tool. Good chance you already know it, and perhaps have even tried it. Since you talk about making wrong decisions and timing problems. Both are in my opinion good tools that can give you guidance in making right decisions. You have to develop a relationship with these tools of course (especially the I Ching), but they are simple enough that you can almost immediately start playing with them. I still consider myself a beginner in both of these but they have definitely been of use for me.

I posted here above, but then removed it completely because it was assuming lot's of stuff and we don't know much details of your situation of course. Why not share a little bit more? Perhaps then people here can offer better suggestions for the right tools to help you? I'm a noobie practitioner with my own problems so my advice is probably not the best there is. Anyways .. Have you tried other astrology type such as bazi to find explanation for your problems. Or perhaps YiJing can provide guidance. You seem to be certain that it is all due to bad luck. Is perhaps possible of course, but is there any aspect of yourself that you can change such that you can pull yourself up out of your situation? Best of luck.

What if your teacher is too advanced for you?

Here is one perspective: Nowadays people want advanced stuff. Low attention span, always need something new. Teacher also has to make a living in this world, so why not give them(students) their stuff so then can occupy themselves. In the end, those students that really want to(need to) evolve will be humble and (perhaps after some time of fooling around) go back to the basic simple foundation practices. Other students will fool themselves forever, going from one teacher to another, one teaching to another. I still dont know what kind of student I am If the teacher never shared with you these foundational practices, then perhaps it's time to seek elsewhere. On the other hand ... drowning students in all kinds of advanced practices might just be a way to take advantage of students and make money. -

So your teacher deemed you ready and appeared. Very cool to hear. Interesting followup question for this discussion: what does it mean to be ready? I would think destiny and timing is a very important factor. So perhaps we can even use the known destiny techniques (bazi, ziwei, ...) to know when there is more opening to find teacher/have teacher appear and perhaps even prepare accordingly. -

Well said! Very interesting and I can relate to this. I was in school with teacher. Got some nice practices, got some nice sensations, trained hard. But in the end it never felt as if I was being taught. Eventually, I left because of the way things flowed. But it definitely might have been the case of student not ready. -

I agree. It is a question that is very much on my mind lately. Was in school for a while but now back to training on my own. I think I got a few decent practices out of that that keep me busy for now, but is that enough? Just stay focused on the practice and hope to flow into something new, or actively seek out a new teacher? Not much time has passed for me since leaving school, so I'll stay put and rest for a while. But it seems to me that ultimately, if the seeker wishes to find his teacher, he better start seeking. -
