Exactly -- I wanted to clarify your quotes about drawing in the yin chi from the Earth - JAJ does so in his new Neigong book:
-
what's the "Lunch" channel?

So this fascinating paper from the taolodge quotes Taoist YOga: Alchemy and Immortality - the author is noting the pineal gland as the cavity of spirit-prenatal vitality. http://taolodge.com/pineal_org.html The author read Taoist Yoga in the 1970s as the above paper was written in 1976!! I was pondering this cavity of prenatal vitality because qigong master Jim Nance has been saying how our awareness is in the back of the brain and the awareness can hold onto our perspective which is our thoughts/visions - but by the awareness holding onto the perspective it then puts the perspective into an objective state beyond any emotions. So I had mentioned to him the cavity of prenatal vitality - at the time I was thinking it was in the back of the brain while the cavity of spirit was in the center of the brain. Now I realize my mistake - the cavity of spirit is closed for the ordinary person but the cavity of prenatal vitality is open - it just lacks the "wondrous light." So yeah for the ordinary person then the evil thoughts cause the cavity of prenatal vitality to activate the scrotum chi from the cavity of vitality in the lower abdomen. But for meditation on the Emptiness then the cavity of prenatal vitality descends energy - fire - to create the lower tan tien as the cavity of spirit-vitality - turning the lower abdomen cavity of vitality into spirit-vitality. O.k. so the yin chi is the postnatal energy created from food, air, and external Earth energy. The yuan chi is the prenatal vitality that has not been used up yet - full at 16 for a virgin, innocent of evil thoughts. So the yang chi is when this prenatal vitality has been sublimated into prenatal spirit-vitality after the lower tan tien is full of yin chi from postnatal sources or from the yuan-chi turned into yang chi from meditation. FINALLY is it clear to me. haha. Thanks for the help!!! wow this is an exciting breakthrough. I gotta think about this for a bit. haha.
-
O.K. since I got no further clarification yet I pursued this on my own - digging on goggle on middle tan tien and yang qi..... on and on. Nothing. Until this: http://www.egreenway.com/dragonsrealms/DT4.htm It appears someone else has discovered this same inconsistency. Dragon is yin chi and Tiger is yang chi.... or is it? I found that by searching "yang fire" a term not used in Taoist Yoga -- not that I recall. http://books.google.com/books?id=BWKEI2oxrR8C&pg=PA35&lpg=PA35&dq=%22yang+fire%22+internal+alchemy&source=bl&ots=JICCPNsrn9&sig=6LoiNjPsfT-zz_BMECcnpR6BQAk&hl=en&sa=X&ei=3zTFUeKGLITYqQGT4IGgCg&ved=0CG8Q6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=%22yang%20fire%22%20internal%20alchemy&f=false So from Wang Mu - it's clear that "yang fire" is the same as the positive principle term used in Taoist Yoga - to mean when the alchemical agent is created - but this is only after the yin chi fills the lower tan tien and the erection does not go away after repeated attempts to retract it..... Anyway the tiger and dragon - yin within yang and vice versa - eternally.
-
hmm - so far JAJ is basically quoting the Taoist Yoga book! Seriously! The only difference is the yin qi MCO -- but even that is interesting because Taoist Yoga does mention that when the fluid descends down the spine from the brain then it can be sublimated back into alchemical agent but using the fire energy from the heart.... so that is pretty much the same thing that you have mentioned. Fascinating.... Yeah so he calls spirit-vitality -- Ling Qi -- and then jing-qi is yang qi or yang fire or both? O.K. here is my understanding from Taoist Yoga. You fill the lower tan tien with yin qi - and when that happens then you start to see light outside the head - but you have not fully opened the third eye yet. So at this point then the cauldron has moved to the middle tan t'ien and so you begin to fill that with yang qi -- and as you do so the yang qi creates the spirit-vitality more so. When the middle tan tien is filled up then there is enough spirit-vitality to fully open up the third eye and this is the real Tai Chi achieved. Then you start working on the golden light and immortal body stuff - yang spirit, etc. But again most people never even fill up the lower tan tien and then fully opening the third eye is much more difficult. Umm - I did fill up the lower tan tien but then the energy was too strong and there was confusion from the first state of serenity - or the Emptiness - just as Taoist Yoga says will happen. If you really study that text - it is truly amazing - the detail it gives. People are claiming the book does not give all the necessary information - fine - so what information is it missing? haha. It's easy for people to claim that as some marketing strategy. Not until you pay up do you get to find out! haha. A better bet is to find a real teacher who can personally guide the process.
-
So what does he say about yang chi and yuan qi -- my understanding is that the lower tan tien has only been filled with yin chi at this point and then the cauldron moves to the middle tan tien to begin turning yang chi into prenatal spirit-vitality. So the cavity of vitality is made up of yin chi but the source of it is either postnatal yang chi created through meditation or prenatal yuanqi from generational energy. So then depending on the person they have different ratios of this -- and when the yang chi is descending from meditation it then turns into yin chi in the lower tan tien - the moon chi or dragon chi. So for the ordinary person the yin chi turns into yin jing energy and then into fluid. So the ordinary person uses up the yuanqi and also does not create the yang chi since they are not meditating. So the cavity of spirit in the brain remains closed for the ordinary person and then when they have evil thoughts the closed cavity of spirit activates the cavity of prenatal qi in the back of the brain which then causes it to descend down to the cavity of vitality and then it turns into fluid. This is what is meant by when Chunyi Lin says at puberty the third eye closes up and then the energy descends to the reproductive organs. So it is there as potential energy activated by evil thoughts. So the first stage is filling up the lower tan tien with the yin chi but this process is either from yang chi descending and turning into yin chi or from yuanqi that has not been used up yet and from food -- food creates yin jing which then can be purified into yin chi - it is purified from the yang chi descending. O.K. so correct me if you think you need to - anyone? How does JAJ clarify this. At $200 for 600 page book - that's $3 a page - and so what about 10 cents a word depending on font size. haha. So maybe just put it into your own words.

Getting a Jim Nance Spring Forest Qigong Phone Healing tomorrow
voidisyinyang replied to voidisyinyang's topic in Daoist Discussion
So you are saying to Jim that you are not feeling anything? What do you mean by not getting feedback on the phone? Yeah because the person who PMd me saying they didn't feel anything - then Jim did another healing on them and again the person didn't feel anything but said something about it. So then Jim said hold on - and he said his spirit light had to pick up on the person's different thought formations....so then the person posted how suddenly he got this blast of bliss in the heart and he was laughing - to heal his anxiety..... laughing the rest of the day, very happy, very confident, etc. So that might be what's going on. -
The birthday and Father's Day of Spring Forest Qigong Master Jim Nance

http://fulllotusqigong.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-birthday-and-fathers-day-of-spring.html Amazingly qigong master Jim Nance has his birthday on Father's Day in the U.S. haha. He spent the day with me at my house and cabin by the river. I give the details above -- we had some very amazing discussions and Jim shared new information with me. -
The birthday and Father's Day of Spring Forest Qigong Master Jim Nance
voidisyinyang replied to voidisyinyang's topic in General Discussion
Thanks! Yeah I had a great feeling of love for qigong master Jim Nance -- and he actually called me again today as he healed my friend and his wife in Brazil - this cyber-friend of 10 years had set up a podcast website for qigong master Jim Nance but then there was miscommunication between our friend in Spain and me and then the friend in Brazil. haha. So then qigong master Jim Nance had me email the friend in Brazil to give him free qigong healing!! He said - well the friend in Brazil stil wants to pay but he doesn't realize that I do this all the time! haha. Anyway I said how he had a painting that the friend in Brazil did of Jim - and so I think that will be his payment. Ummm - so Jim is doing one more healing of them on Friday. There's another taobums person who PM'd me who is getting a Jim Nance healing on Weds. and the person said they would definitely share their experience for thetaobums. Ummm..... another person on thetaobums just got a group healing with Jim - felt some energy but not alot but they have two more one-to-one healings from Jim set up. So I'm sure will be hearing more about that also. Anyway I did not mention when Jim and I were hanging out on our deck -- then it seemed from the forest there was a bad smell that kept -- like when the wind picked up - all of a sudden we got a waft. My sister goes - smells like caca, is it from the baby? I smell the diapers. Nope. haha. Jim goes - yeah I smell it but you know with the woods you never know what's going on. haha. So then the next day I'm mowing the lawn with the push mower and I realize it was the bird bath! So embarrassing. We got tons of rain so I never checked the bird bath but this wild turkey had left a big one in the water. haha. No wonder we had not been getting many birds later. Oh well -- that stuff always happens to me - something really hilariously embarrassing. I'm used to it now. Jim didn't seem to be bothered - he can probably tune smells out like cats can do. But anyway he told me today I had "extraordinary potential" for the qigong training and that I just "gotta keep working at it." At first I said - when you say "you" - do you mean you like everyone you or... and he goes - no I mean you -- just you. haha. So yeah I am obligated to practice more now but I am also transcribing his qi-talks - that is slow work to get it right. So this is a dream come true for me -- Jim says he wants me to be able to meditate more and so this qi-talk project is part of that plan. -
Yeah what the books recommend is pears for constipation - it's also what qigong master Chunyi Lin recommends - pears are very yin and then clear out the colon.
-
Yeah sounds like too much of the insoluable fiber -- you want more soluable fiber. Too much wheat dries out the colon.

The birthday and Father's Day of Spring Forest Qigong Master Jim Nance
voidisyinyang replied to voidisyinyang's topic in General Discussion
Yeah just focusing on the Emptiness - instead of using my mind to transmit energy. haha. It's kind of a trip. I used to use my mind to transmit energy all the time - and so that is the cause -- ummm-- just need to keep going deeper into the Emptiness. As Jim said - when you have built up enough love energy in the heart then other people's blockages will not seem like a hurricane but more like a gentle breeze. -
Spring Forest Qigong Master Jim Nance Podcast in the works
voidisyinyang replied to voidisyinyang's topic in Systems and Teachers of
O.K. Qigong Master Jim Nance is going to drive up to my house!! I just gave him directions. It's his birthday today - he turns 64. Also it's Father's Day!! Ummm -- should be a couple hours before he gets here. We are going to just hang out and also go up to our cabin -- by the river.... So maybe we can do another podcast interview. I talked to qigong master Jim Nance for another couple hours last night - over two hours. We talked a lot about what we discussed on our last podcast - we extended that discussion - about the future of the human species in terms of energy creation and also creating a culture of energy training - and how that ties in with today's high-tech culture - but how to create a culture that respects ecology, etc. One of the things we talked about was the power of the mind - to also be in denial about how energy is the constant of reality. So he said how he healed this lady who couldn't walk on one leg - for six years - one leg was shorter than the other. So in 30 minutes she was healed and so he could see her energy leg that was real and so he made her physical leg - or God or the Emptiness -- causes her physical leg to grow in 30 minutes. But she was in such shock and so should could not believe she was healed and so then the next day her leg had gone back to the way her mind thought it was. Yeah so we will see what happens! The plan is that I will keep transcribing his qi-talks and then we will put those into a book form for people. But anyway I could really feel the energy last night when I meditated - we ended our call since Jim was going into meditation about 11 pm and so he meditated all night but he is doing some exercises now. -
Pythagoras, Neoplatonism, Maths, Geometry.
voidisyinyang replied to Seth Ananda's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Remember I have already discussed this!! Both Plato and Archytas were relying on Philolaus and therefore were not “orthodox” Pythagoreans. Orthodox Pythagoreans did not use 9/8, not in the sense of Archytas. Why? Because the ratio 9/4, reduced to 9/8, is not of the Pythagorean Tetrad based on the “orthodox” perfect fifth “Great Dragon Tuning.” André Barbera, "The Consonant Eleventh and the Expansion of the Musical Tetractys: A Study of Ancient Pythagoreanism," Journal of Music Theory, 1984. And so Archytas and Plato were not real Pythagoreans.- 41 replies

So this is really the main crux of the whole argument against Kingsley - and the author here is correct to perceive the double standard that Kingsley is applying - seeing rationalism of Platonic philosophy as bad and then saying that the PreSocratics used their magic for "practical application" -- "Expressing or intending to promote a particular cause or point of view, esp. a controversial one:" So what is this particular cause that Kingsley is promoting? The practical application in the PreSocratics is fundamentally different then the Late Pythagoreans. I have already quoted Kingsley's Ph.D. stating that Archtyas - a "Late" Pythagorean - "radically reinterpreted" Pythagorean philosophy so as to give it a materialist meaning!! So the author here has made the error again of grouping together "Early" and "Late" Pythagoreans as if they were equivalent. Notice again he does not actually quote Kingsley on this - he adds Early and Late to the Kingsley quote. This is a fundamental point that misleads the readers. So the whole point is that Archytas was not a real Pythagorean and yet the author here claims he is a "Late" Pythagorean.- 41 replies

This paragraph is twisted -- a complete warping of Kingsley!! Why would Kingsley use scholastic disputes to identify the pure gold in Pythagorean teaching? Kingsley teaches nondualism which can not be taught using words, much less, disputes. That is Kingsley's whole point about Platonic philosophy as I already quoted - because it is focused on this wording as disputes it misses the focus on the practice of meditation without words. So then the author says Kingsley neglects Numenius stating that pure Platonic philosophy is the same as Pythagoreanism - this is a strawman argument! Kingsley never states that scholastic disputes provide the "gold" of Pythagorean philosophy and so how could Numenius be correct about Plato being Pythagoreanism? So then after the author has twisted Kingsley around and warped him completely the author then claims this is what Kingsley does. haha. It's hilarious. What is his evidence? it's "beyond the scope of this essay." Nice deferral to no evidence!!- 41 replies

So here the author reveals that he really does not understand meditation and visionary states!! This is my whole point - he wants to claim that the NeoPlatonists are mystics - and that's fine - but on the other hand he thinks you can have thinking and magic at the same time. What kind of "magic" is he talking about? He just quoted Kingsley in a very misleading manner: Really? Why did the author not just fully quote Kingsley and instead the author adds magic to the Kingsley quote. That is not a sign of good scholarship. We have to just take the author's word for it when it would have been using the same number of words to quote Kingsley. The author has not provided us with any evidence to support his claim. Again this is a total projection on the part of the author based on his misunderstanding of nondualism - Kingsley does not place magic in some special position and yet this is what the author is misleadingly claiming.- 41 replies

O.K. so he later quotes Kingsley on Metis and then the author states: This again is a projection onto Kingsley - he is twisting the meaning of what Kingsley wrote - the author is trying to claim Kingsley is promoting something that is with bad intentions when the opposite is true!! The real meaning of Metis is based on nondualism which the author does not understand. This is what the author considers to be Metis - but that is the wrong Platonic view of Metis as I have already documented about. As I mentioned Stephen Toulmin also corrects this error about Metis. http://complexityandmanagement.wordpress.com/2010/04/15/speaking-of-managers-and-leaders-being-ruthless-the-ongoing-crisis-of-everyday-ethics-in-business-2/- 41 replies

This person is assuming to know Kingsley's intentions - and is practicing ad hominems - and then he projects the wrong definition of Metis onto Kingsley! I have already quoted this discussion of Metis above and yet this writer is projecting the Platonic definition of Metis onto Kingsley! I quoted above already that Plato defined metis as "cunning reason" but that for the orthodox Pythagoreans Metis did not mean to use words in a cunning way that is misleading. So this author then takes the Platonic definition of Metis and turns it around to say this is what Kingsley is doing. It is an ad hominem attack that assumes to know Kingsley's intentions or motives and obviously Kingsley would disagree with being called this. So the writer is claiming Metis means writing things down in a cunning way that tricks the reader -- a reader who also is already foolish. This type of reasoning is terrible!! It makes assumption based on assumption based on a psychological projection by the writer onto Kingsley as an ad hominem. He says this is "exasperating." Why? He writes as if the above is a bad thing.....Lots of creative people get their insights from dreams - there's a whole book about leading scientists who have solved problems by dreams - the Creative Process. Again this is faulty logic - Kingsely does not make this claim!! The writer is projecting onto Kingsley. This whole paragraph completely negates what the author just quoted about Kingsley previously! Kingsley is stating that the Pythagoreans have a philosophy of nondualism!! The author then states that Kingsley should point out which practice was their main focus and why - this is a total misunderstanding of nondualism.- 41 replies
