Walker I agree with you that the person doing the translation didn't understand its true meaning - in the sense of alchemical experience. What exactly is ‘turning the light around’, in daoist meditation?

yes and what is the quote from Master Wang about not opening the eyes when someone touches you, a teacher touches you to send energy into you - because by opening the eyes then the liver energy will get lost? -

So now we've determined that Sun and Moon refer to the two eyes. Is that a fair Daoist alchemy generalization applicable to more than one Daoist alchemy book? Yes I think so. Now let's search Sun and moon and see what we find. ok that's a start. So this is a review for now - but what does it "really mean"? Hold on! Now the Sun is the Heart and the Moon is the Lower tan t'ien - but it just said the Sun and Moon were the two eyes! The plot thickens... Exactly - only a "good understanding"!! So please let's devote a bit of time to this - shall we? Oh - so Metal is the Sun and Wood is the Moon. So now we have heart is Sun, Metal is Sun, and Wood is Moon, Lower tan t'ien is Moon - and the Eyes are Sun and Moon. Now things are quite complicated aren't they? So the "outer sun and moon" lights have to "mingle" - how is that possible? With the eyes open the lights of each eyes do not "mingle" do they? And then the inner water and fire do not copulate unless the eyes mingles - the light of the eyes.... This is getting quite interesting! ... So heart and lower tan t'ien - do not "mix" unless the outer lights of the eyes mix. OK now we are moving into metal and wood. We know this is yang qi and yin qi right? We can confirm this if needed - but let's try to stay "on topic" of turning the light around... So by turning the light around we ahve to "intermingle" the outer lights of the eyes as the sun and the moon and this then causes the union of the metal and wood. This raises the question - are Metal and wood associated with the eyes as well? Trick question - I know. Let's keep searching "left eye" ... wait - I think I feel a big surprise coming! OK so now we have the left eye as wood which is yin qi but the left eye is also the Sun as positive yang (outer light). The right eye is metal as yang qi but is moon as yin shen. So the sun and Moon are internal - by turning them around the yang and yin qi mix and mingle with the Jing - to create more Yuan Qi.The jing being the "outer alchemical agent." Fascinating and quite practical training based on psychophysiology - not so much "ideas" is it? So now only AFTER the white light manifests that is seen externally - can it then be sent "down" into the lower tan t'ien and also then the ambrosia goes down and makes sounds in the lower tan t'ien.... And from there the golden light can begin to develop after this process continues. -

OK let's break this down - piece by piece. What does "pointed concentration" mean? Well the book Taoist Yoga explains for us. https://archive.org/stream/TaoistYogaAlchemyAndImmortalityLuKuanYCharlesLuk/Taoist Yoga Alchemy and Immortality Lu K’uan YĂ¼ (Charles Luk)_djvu.txt enter "pointed concentration" as search and and and but wait! We're not done yet! and We're getting closer but not quite there yet!! and and I know - you're maybe getting "bored" As a Westerner - but please be patient! We're not done yet and we are getting closer to what Pointed concentration really means! getting very close! Let's get more details: ok let's now "review" - and this? So what is the "light of positive spirit"? Well it depends - if the Yang shen still has yin qi in it then the yin qi creates red light as an impurity in the gold light. Hence the need for more meditation. So next we will have to consider what the "sun and moon" means in relation to "both eyes" - for the production of Yuan Qi. Right? Is that a fair question? I think so. -

yeah I just quoted the GF section on turning the light around and explained what it means. The reason Westerners do not understand the Golden Flower text is because the yin-yang energy dynamics are assumed in the practice - they are "embedded" and hidden. So Westerners have been brainwashed since Plato to think that the eyes are a symmetric "set of two" as "twoness" - and hence do not understand that "pointed concentration" means to unite the Sun and Moon - through the small universe meditation as alchemy. So you say you are "only interested" in (your Western projection) onto the Golden Flower. Have fun with that. There is a secret meaning to the Golden Flower based in Daoist alchemy of yin-yang energy channels of the eyes. -

What this really means is that each eye is solar and lunar and also yin qi and yang qi - and so only when the energies of the eyes 'cross" is the energy of light returned back to its source via the third eye, via the heart and then the lower tan t'ien. -

So science has proven that the source of the Sun is actually quantum "negentropy" from quantum entanglement. It means it's actually from reverse time virtual photons, called superluminal "yin matter" as the Golden Key in Daoist alchemy (Zhong Gong). So yang light means radiation that turns into matter by storing up energy from the future - this is also what powers the sun as fusion energy. Negentropy is also what powers life, as Schroedinger proposed in 1930, his book "What is Life?" and as has now been proven by quantum biology in the last few years of Western science. -

What exactly is ‘turning the light around’, in daoist meditation?
voidisyinyang replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
well it's not exactly "ideas" but rather training instructions. So first the Yuan Shen is activated via the Yuan Qi by restoring the yin qi. The light of the yin qi restored is white-yellow light that is seen externally as the Absolute Void but the Yuan Shen is the "light of no light" from the Yuan Qi having the Yuan jing restored through purification. Most people never reach this stage. Then after that ONLY the Yuan Shen, by "turning the light around" unites the yin qi and yang qi to increase the Yuan Qi which then increases the light - and is stored via the yang qi. So at first the yang qi is swallowed as white ambrosia - it overflows out of the sinus cavity as cerebrospinal fluid that is "cleansed" by the pineal gland. So as the yuan qi increases - the skull gets soft - and body fills with qi - so you enter immortal breathing first - which means the Yin Qi is taken in from the Earth - and it rotates with the Yuan Qi. And so then the yin qi of the organs are turned into yuan qi. So then the Ambrosia turns into the Golden Nectar or Golden Elixir - with the yang qi increased - and so the Golden Light is the byproduct of the increased Yuan Qi created from the increased Yang Qi. You can read all this in the Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortal training text. -

It appears there has been great confusion about the Golden Flower text for a long time. The Golden Flower stage is actually advanced training - requiring long fasting and deep meditation. Preferably cave meditation. But we can count on Western translations to goof it up. haha. https://allaboutheaven.org/sources/1001/190/the-secret-of-the-golden-flower -

Questions about Xing (心性) and Ming (命)
voidisyinyang replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
I read a training manual of Brahmin rules - in a used bookstore - stating if a Brahmin priest MAKES EYE CONTACT with a female then three days of purification rituals are required. So clearly celibacy of mind and body is quite strict. A Buddhist manual I read said that there should be 2 miles from the nearest other humans. When John Chang did his intensive solo meditation - the closest other humans were 3 miles away. So what happens is the eyes "twinkle" at the form of beauty - this is a photonic signal to the pineal gland that then sends the qi signal down to the adrenal glands which send the signal to the Qihai - the prostate - to kick out lecithin and this is a photonic signal to dilate the gate of mortality - which then sends qi down to the testicles, to make generative fluid. So this is why generative fluid is not to be "retained" because MAKING generative fluid is itself a blockage. And the only way to fix it is through deep Quick Fire breathing to reset the parasympathetic nervous system. The LUST photonic signal is a sympathetic nervous system via the pineal gland - and down to the gate of mortality - so that is the trigger that has been fired. If it is not reversed then dreams become real at night while even in deep dreamless sleep. So Brahmin priests relied on the Caste system to do Mind Yoga by separation from females. Daoists instead use standing active exercises with deep strong reverse breathing to reset the nervous system. But it requires meditation with Shen to purify the jing again. So even with standing - you want to visualize fire at the base of the spine, just as the San Bushmen taught as well. to create Qi is not to "retain jing" - Qi is the process of Shen under Jing as the alchemical pill. So it is a transmutation process of cleansing and purification. This whole meme of "retaining" is a Western materialistic construct. If your mind is focused on retaining your generative fluid - then you don't have any cleansing and purification. Only the Shen through meditation enables cleansing and purification as Neidan alchemy. So the standing active meditation also empties out the mind - but with sitting meditation you open up the lower back blockage so that you get a deeper parasympathetic activate up the spine. -

The book Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality discusses the Golden Flower details. Daoist Alchemy books are not written in a vacuum. They are related to each other. If you limit yourself to one book and refuse to consider other books, then yes you might be confused. -
If food and sunlight gives us qi, why do people who go to meditate in caves while fasting for weeks have much greater levels of qi?
voidisyinyang replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
Actually Qi is the Mother of Shen and Shen is the child of Qi. Sunlight is just another form of Shen. So when the qi builds up then this builds up the shen - it's called Shen-qi. You activate Yuan Qi - which is non-dual - so beyond the body and the mind. The body fills with qi - and so you only "think" it's dark - but then the cave fills up with light as shen. Chunyi Lin describes this in his book or in his classes http://springforestqigong.com Or you can study relativistic quantum physics. Light has relativistic mass as "hidden momentum" - that's the Yuan Qi - it's from noncommutative spacetime that is superluminal. So it's also called "Yin Matter" as the Golden Key that restores Yuan Jing. So you are going into the Emptiness as a spacetime vortex. -

voidisyinyang replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
pointed concentration means the left and right eye have to rotate so that the yin qi and yang qi combine - thereby the yang shen and yin shen. You should feel the pineal gland activating the lower tan t'ien. Then you bring the qi and shen down to the lower tan t'ien - to transform the jing into qi. Only Quick Fire breathing has the power to sublimate the jing or water above the fire. So just relying on bring the Shen or positive fire down will not be real alchemy - unless your jing is full and the heart pure. -

What exactly is ‘turning the light around’, in daoist meditation?
voidisyinyang replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
https://archive.org/stream/TaoistYogaAlchemyAndImmortalityLuKuanYCharlesLuk/Taoist Yoga Alchemy and Immortality Lu K’uan YĂ¼ (Charles Luk)_djvu.txt So - physics have proven that light has a "hidden momentum" that is from relativistic mass - meaning Emptiness or spacetime curvature. So when spacetime shifts there is a change in the light frequency, due to the wavelength of spacetime shifting. But quantum energy is based on frequency directly. Louis de Broglie realized that there is a limit to relativity - a paradox - that he solved - called the Law of Phase Harmony. So the yin qi has red light - and the yang qi has blue light. When the Yuan Qi is activated as the Yuan Shen - at first it is yellow-white light - this is called the Full Moon in the Sun - when the yin qi is fully restored. As the yang qi builds up - then it creates red light from the lower frequency energy (the jing) - so that is the Sun within the Moon - the "light of vitality" or yang qi. So then you get ambrosia - which is swallowed - to return the qi and shen back to the lower tan t'ien. As the energy builds up - this ambrosia turns into the golden Nectar - as it has more yang qi within it. It still combines with the yin qi of the five organs. As you deepen the practice the yin qi is converted into more yuan qi, via building up the yang qi. The Yuan Qi is the "light of no light" as the hidden pressure or momentum within the Shen light - so it is also the Yuan Shen manifesting - the Spirit of No Spirit. So this is why the yin qi light (white) and yang qi light (golden) then create the yuan qi as the hidden momentum of light from the light being turned around - into the opposites of frequency and wavelength. -

What is the difference between Jing and Jing-Qi?
voidisyinyang replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
You have to do the full "Small Universe" meditation - to purify by bringing the yin qi back down. and So the "purification" is when the yin qi goes back down from the heart - to the lower tan t'ien (along with the yang qi that was brought up the spine as sublimation). The quick fire activates the "inner cavity" of the tan-t'ien - so that the yang qi has the power to drive out the yin jing blockages (lower emotional blockages). The source of the Yuan Qi - is "motionless change" aka "noncommutative phase" - meaning it is the "doing in movement" of the Yuan Shen - the light of no light. and eventually then the golden light soars up from the yang qi that accumulates and interacts with the yin qi. So this pointed concentration means the sun is in the moon and vice versa - as the positive fire goes out the eyes when they are open. 2/3rds of the brain's power is used by the eyes when they are open. So in meditation this light is turned around - and the left eye (yin qi) and the right eye (yang qi) then combine in the lower tan t'ien. -

That's very funny since I had an article published about Feynman and spirits - what he's referring to in that vid, without saying so, is virtual photons. But even that does not "answer" his question. The term used now to answer it is "retrocausality." Feynman was too limited in his psychophysiology. https://www.mind-energy.net/archives/283-Gurdjieff-and-the-Triode-Amplifier.html -
