Sure it's not that there is no you what it is saying is that there is nothing permanent you. For example who you where yesterday is not who you are today or who you where when you are a teenager is not who you are now but you're still the same person right. But your also not. So there is no you that is permanent. You are always changing. If you could come to a place of equanimity the changes of self you experience will no bring suffering. As far as reincarnation that is the most misunderstood topic besides nirvana in Buddhism. When you receive insight into past lives it's not meaning before you where born in buddhism yesterday was a past life was it not, when you where a kid that's was a past life was it not. So if we revive insight into past life's we understand who we where how we acted and how we can better change our selfs and have upright response to what is, this is compassion or prajna parmita. So if you don't have that insight you will keep acting out the same experience over and over so you will be reborn. So don't think of incarnation as dieing and being reborn view it in this very life. So there is no permenent self not that there is no self it's not permanent the way we think it is. There is a lot of mis translation in Buddhism when it came to the west.

If you where do the above practices correctly. And followed my advice to not take that state of being to far and came out of that in a state of peace mindfulness. You may experience levels of depression dissatisfaction and what not. But this whole dark night of the soul tends to arise due to wrong perceptions that we have when we come out of the state I mentioned above. And it's as easy to go through or as hard to go through as you make it or it may not be necessary for you to experience.
-
As far as the whole dark nigh thing goes it unnecessary to experience. And it can come in many forms. Buddhism is one of the most misunderstood spiritual disaplines in the western world.
-
If you do this correctly and experience bliss illumination felling like you disappear. Stop and come back to the world you can always go back to that state. This is very important do not make the mistake in abiding in that state for to long.

If you want to reach Jhana concentrate on this very second in existence and remove identification with all thoughts. Completely concentrate on the arising and falling of breath. Please know from a Buddhist perspective that Jhana and getting attached to this is samamsara yes these states are a part of that path but there are not the goal. Nor are they needed to obtain enlightenment. I posted a form it's titled Buddhism karma and the great sunyata I recommend reading if your interested in Buddhism. Understand the Buddha taught with a open hand there where no secrets so be mindful of people question your motive with Buddhist practices

Well if you did actually leave your body. And you where in a world very similar to this one , it could be as simple as the lights where out and you simply couldn't see. Seriously if you leave your body and you in that buffer state it could be as simple as that. I have had this experience where I left my body and all I could see was black void. As far a fixing it I believe you will need to cultivate more Qi so you can have more of a driving force in the other world. Also give it time with practice you will develop more ability to see. A lot of times during this experience you will have a strange sense where you can see all around you like 360 degree view. Be careful what your dialing into with these engegy systems you don't want to leave your body and have something come back with you.

So I saw a discussion on karma and what it was and what it isn't I find this to be a interesting important point I was not able to respond for some reason so I am marking a new post in it. Unfortunately Buddhism is one of the most misunderstood religions of you want to call it that in the world. So I'd like to briefly explore these topics what they are and what they are not. From a Buddhist standpoint karma are the aspects of our consciousness that cause us to be in conflict with our selfs and the world around us. It basically is the part of our self that can't accept what is and causes us to not have a upright response to what is ariseing in this moment. If we can turn this into wisdom or "Bodhi" we would be enlightened. Now many times when we become aware of this part of ourself we have hard time dealing with it skillfully. So the historical Buddha had a remedy for this and he called it sunyata or emptiness. And sunyata is a state beyond our normal experience and this state brings about equanimity from this point we can deal with our karma turn it into wisdom and cultivate compassion. Now compassion is not necessarily being nice to everyone. In a Buddhist sense it is haveing a upright response to what is. If we could do that and accept things as they are and turn all the conflicts with in our self into wisdom why should we suffer. Now we do this in Buddhism thought the eight fold path. Many believe that right thought right action right speach is saying and being nice to everyone. Well that's not exactly what it truly means. The eight fold path is about maintaining a state of samadhi in all aspects of our life. If you look at the eight fold path you will notice that it encompasses all aspects of what we are actually doing in our day to day life. So if we could turn all confusion and conflict with in ourself into wisdom and abide in a state of equanimity and have a up right response to this moment in existence then we would be enlightened.

Now sudden enlightenment vs is gradual. This is another area where people tend to ponder. Based on my above statement that process can ither happen gradually or suddenly but clarity of mind is something that is maintained by applied wisdom. There is nothing in Buddhism that is about being in the world it is truly about leaving the world you may be amongst it but if you could truly do all of that above you would no longer be in it like most are. I truly believe that this man is enlightened.

So I'd like to clear somethings up in this issue from what I have seen posted on the sites here.

Ok no problem

This isn't really a discussion on mo Pai. That's one form of inner cultivation believe it or not they're are forms of shaolin that produce similar results to that of mo Pai. You will not find them at your local sholin school most likely. This is a discussion to clear up misinformation that people have said Long Men Pai is a system of Qi Gong not nei Gong. Really Qi Gong was a word that is modern to simply describe qi practices. The actual words would be ither wei Gong or outer practice the movement you may see someone do. And Nei Kung the inner aspect that what you don't see. Developing Qi in the dantien and what not. So long men Pai has very similar practices. Long men Pai has practices that put Qi in the Dan tien compact it then move that ball of chi. Now from what I have seen long men Pai has many different groups practicing it and being apart of there leniage. This is because long men Pai is open to the public. So the practices that are taught are self cultivation most of these practices can be considered Taoist religious and involve your standard Qi Gong practices there are very good to learn and have tremendous benifits and I highly recommend people learning them. Long men Pai does differentiate between yin and yang and does have tequniqes similar to mo Pai in cultivating these two forces. The odds of most learning this however is very slim. It is open to the public but best believe that this aspect of the lineage is kept secret. And there are more reason for this then just wanting to prevent it from getting into the wrong hands. From what I have seen here so far unfortunately it is not ready to be just given out to anyone. Even if it was the odds of most people getting anywhere with it is slim. It takes years of dedication and years just to get to a meditative state that is needed to get in touch with these aspects of Qi. So for those wondering yes long men Pai is equally as powerful as mo Pai in the sense of it's very very rarely taught nei Kung. However no one has come forward and done a demonstration there for it does not receive as much attention as mo Pai. If someone came out and was part of long men Pai and idk walked on water levitated punched through a giant tree, people would be saying long men Pai is more powerful lol which is silly. Nei Kung is a form of Kung fu yes but it can't really be judge like muy thai vs boxing vs karate vs wing chun. Like I said before Kung fu means merit of hard work. Nei Kung is the merit of years of deep meditative cultivation. Also if mo Pai wasn't demonstrated none of you would give 2 cents about any of its disciples. They would really not be all that interesting to any of you and there would not be a controversy. See a lot of this is the reason things are not to be demonstrated. So yes for those that are wondering long men Pai does have a inner cultivation of yin and yang just like mo Pai there may be slight differences not many and long men Pai if this part is learned can and will produce results similar to mo Pai.

I think it's very important to stop being so concerned with the name of a system then what a actual system does. As for insulting other systems if a internally cultivation system deals with bone marrow dantien work and useing Turing sexual energy into power iam afraid to inform you that it's a system specifically designed to cultivate inner power it is not really made to become like the dali lama and be a light to the world so if your into a system that is claiming to cultivate true inner power and does not use those aspects mentioned above then iam sorry but it is lacking if you are looking to cultivate that aspect
-
This form is to inform those who where confused that long men Pai has very similar practices to mo Pai and is in fact a system of nei Kung
-
If you fall into this category please leave you will fell threatened by what I know and may say. And so far from what I see a lot do. This is strictly a form for people I have seen post that had questions regarding deep internal cultivation systems.
-
And please understand this form hasn't even really stated yet. If anyone feels uncomfortable with what iam starting you can leave because things may get complex. And if you are afraid of what you many not know this is not for you.
-
Responses from this point foward will be completely in regards to what is stated above from a technical practical perspective to those who did want some confusion cleared up on this topic.
-
Well I see what is here but once angin this post is simply to clear up some confusion from what I have seen with questions regarding long men Pai, if it's a nei Kung system in comparison to mo Pai.
-
I understand some people with this information become over zealous but not everyone is out to dangle something over people's heads. But what iam seeing it's obvious why people with this information keep it with in a certain sect.
-
Here is the issue i am haveing many of you dislike certain people for haveing the information on this form of disaplin. Why is that ?
-
notice I said long men Pai and mo pai I very interested on why you all become so focused on mo Pai. Long men Pai has the same teachings. With it's nei Gong system minor differences to some extent. Why all this outrage?
-
Well this has all been very interesting but this thread was not made for most of you here. But please fell free to post.
-
Well this is the reason why these things have a tradition of secrecy. It's because unfortunately martial arts and esoteric martial arts attracts some of the worst in society.
-
There are different ways you can do this just like there are different ways you can go to the gym and work out
-
And long men Pai does pull Qi into the dantien compact it and so on and so forth where that Qi goes is up to the individual but the movement is different at that stage then mo pai
