  1. Longest period of Meditation!

I put you on the limb because I love you lol! Would you characterize your empty-minded meditation with the "Cessation of Perception & Feeling" as detailed in the Pali Canon? Are you familiar with the Immaterial Jhanas?
  2. Longest period of Meditation!

I want to avoid this post becoming a philosophic investigation into Language & Subjectivity hah. I was speaking from the perspective that people sometimes speak in seemingly objective ways to not divulge anything of a seemingly personal nature. Now Marblehead you have to talk about your longest meditation and the experience
  3. Longest period of Meditation!

Don't want to speak from your subjective experience?
  4. Longest period of Meditation!

    9th share your meditation experience.
  5. Longest period of Meditation!

This has always been an interesting practice to me, do you know much about it. Like I always wondered how they use the bathroom and the small things like that. Being in complete darkness for 49 days or longer could be a very intense practice. Almost like the individuals that use the sensory deprivation tanks.
  6. Longest period of Meditation!

Getting old has some great benefits
  7. hiya

    Welcome!
  8. Longest period of Meditation!

The biggest question I have is: Was I glowing....... Lol in all seriousness that would be pretty cool but I want to keep this about every ones meditation and not just how wicked of a meditator I am hah Fa Xin, tell us about your meditation in particular a long stretch you may have done of intense work and what happened or some good stories you know of intense meditation!
  9. What does this mean?

As someone from a Buddhist (Thai Forest Theravada and Zen, Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery in America) perspective. Do another 6 months in deep meditation
  10. New here - Hi all

    Welcome :)!
  11. Imagine I am sitting at Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery in America, or Wat Pah Nanachat (Ajahn Chah Monastery) in Thailand, or Panditãrãma (Sayadaw U Pandita-Mahasi Sayadaw Center) in Burma, or at some 3-year silent retreat in the tradition of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu or Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. A lot drops off (Anatta), Nonduality is experienced, with wisdom one awakens (Nirvana). There is a dynamic with multiplicity (Individuals), Emptiness, Awareness, Etc. How is awakening related to the individual? This is to be open to all traditions and view points. There may be members with not as much formal knowledge as others that yet have diamond tidbits of wisdom. Let us be encouraging and delve into what each other presents with a lot of respect so this discussion can draw out important understandings and content.
  12. Individuality, Nonduality, Anatta, Nirvana

Meant to include the quote above given lol!
  13. Individuality, Nonduality, Anatta, Nirvana

It must be my Theravada side but I love how the Pali Canon talks about Nibanna
  14. Individuality, Nonduality, Anatta, Nirvana

Nope I don't think that's on point either.
  15. Sometimes this subtle thing hits hard. I know where your speaking from.
  16. Life difficulties

    Welcome!
  17. Individuality, Nonduality, Anatta, Nirvana

For some reason I think everything but the Nirvana point was gold.
  18. Shamanic roots of Western World

As I practice more Zazen and intensity like Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery *Although I have never done this level lol* I can say I have started to understand Shamanism.
  19. Searching for Truth

    Welcome!
  20. Individuality, Nonduality, Anatta, Nirvana

I think maybe understanding the nature of "Life" & "Death" might play into the Individual "Vantage" point and misunderstandings about it's nature. Thoughts?
  21. I was going to say my usual "Welcome!"
  22. Individuality, Nonduality, Anatta, Nirvana

I think in some ways the real hard thing to understand is the nature of "Individual" vantage point and it's relation to the truth of Anatta. Also how this vantage point stays the same or differs in dynamic with awakening and once it is achieved. Thoughts?
