Lost in Translation replied to Arkx6's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
This may be an excellent opportunity for forge a new path. All old traditions once started in exactly this manner. Make sure you keep a good diary! -
Light - Go from seeing to being - say good bye to astral travel
Lost in Translation replied to s1va's topic in General Discussion
Light is not simply what is visible to the eye but the entire electromagnetic spectrum, to include heat. Everywhere that is not absolute zero degrees is filled with light! It's impossible to escape it. -
That which awakens, is already awake - An experiment
Lost in Translation replied to dwai's topic in General Discussion
I'm sure it's not gone. Now I've gone and thought about it way too much and I can't seem to get back there. I've "wised up" to the trick. We'll have a wait a while and I'll try again to see what I can see. -
That which awakens, is already awake - An experiment

... I don't know. That's a funny feeling. It's "me" but in order to define "me" I need to pull out to another level and when I do that... poof, it's gone! -

I get a microsecond of perception followed by a fleeting sense of loss as my consciousness rushes in to fill the void. -
This is so important! 'the symbol "i" does serve a purpose as part of the expression "a + bi" namely in blocking the addition'. I wish my teachers had stated this one fact. This alone was worth the entire thread. Thank you!

You're teaching math now? Bold move! Are you going to link this math back to Taoism somehow? That will be impressive! Imaginary numbers always bothered me in school so I look forward to your treatise.

Location of Heaven and Earth When Horizontal
Lost in Translation replied to rideforever's topic in Daoist Discussion
This is an interesting question! If I am visualizing with eyes closed then the physical orientation of my body doesn't play a factor. Heaven is "up", whatever that means in my visualization. But if I am trying to clear my mind of thoughts then heaven is skyward. Assuming I'm lying on by back that means the direction I am facing. -
I'm confused. I can't watch the video you linked because it's not available in my country. I searched this and found two songs with the same title. This And this Which version did you post?

This is not happening to me. This is simply happening and I am here.

Is non-duality actually a fundamental truth, or just another philosophy?Â
Lost in Translation replied to Bindi's topic in General Discussion
You may enjoy this thread from the Yijing sub group. -
Good luck down there. "Hey, let's vote no confidence so we can get our man in office." "Sure, let's do it!" ... a few minutes later ... "Let's vote to confirm our man." "Let's!" ... a few minutes later ... "And the winner is... WTF!?!" Gotta love politics...

Never heard of Spearhead. Sounds kinda reggae, soul, touch of old school rap. I like it!

Welcome, Kyoji! The Interewebs are great for connecting people with like minds. For over a decade all I could find on Taoism was found in book stores and from that kooky guy in his mid forties who wears old clothes from the '60's and works in the used book store. But now we have computers 'n stuff and that kooky guy is in his late fifties and writes stuff on Dao Bums...

What I got, by Sublime. Early in the morning, risin' to the street Light me up that cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet Got to find a reason, a reason things went wrong Got to find a reason why my money's all gone I got a dalmatian, and I can still get high I can play the guitar like a motherfucking riot Well, life is too short, so love the one you got 'Cause you might get run over or you might get shot Never start no static I just get it off my chest Never had to battle with no bulletproof vest Take a small example, take a tip from me Take all of your money, give it all to charity Love is what I got It's within my reach And the Sublime style's still straight from Long Beach It all comes back to you, you'll finally get what you deserve Try and test that you're bound to get served Love's what I got Don't start a riot You'll feel it when the dance gets hot Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Why I don't cry when my dog runs away I don't get angry at the bills I have to pay I don't get angry when my Mom smokes pot Hits the bottle and goes right to the rock Fuckin' and fightin', it's all the same Livin' with Louie dog's the only way to stay sane Let the lovin', let the lovin' come back to me Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Lovin', is what I got, I said remember that Lovin', is what I got

Did we break Nungali? He hasn't logged in for a couple days. Maybe it's just a coincidence...

Oh, we're talking hair, not ink? In that case iron gall is definitely a no-go. Perhaps a water soluble Scrip's instead?
