Books that teach similar methods as "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality"
Nintendao replied to Annnon's topic in Daoist Discussion
Internal Alchemy for Everyone by Chungtao Ho is a good one. Title is kinda funny leading some to think it's going to be a quick-and-easy version when in reality it's the opposite. The practice is described in terms anyone can understand, but it pulls no punches in laying out a path that takes extraordinary level of devotion to reach the later stages. Theory is cited directly from Cantong Qi, Wuzhen Pian, Xingming Guizhi, etc.- 1 reply

[Taoist Ritual] Supreme Mystery Gate Daily Recitation Morning Classwork Scripture | Wudang Mountain, Hubei I like this song. I copied the subtitles and also found some similar mantras on ctext. Taishang Xuanmen Morning Liturgy pinyin.txt Taishang Xuanmen Morning Liturgy partial draft.txt Here's what i have so far. It's far from complete, and I won't be embarrassed if there are mistakes. It's not an academic translation or ordained for service. Just wanted to read along with the singing and to know what it says. That said it is still handled with respect and reverence. There is a downloadable mp4 at https://archive.org/details/wudang-mountain-daoist-temple-chanting-morning-evening-liturgy but it is missing the last ten minutes.

Loss of Emotion and Sensation - Major Blockage - Greatly Need Help

Have you ask for help from God? In case you are atheist, it's still okay to try. As long as you are respectful and clear-intentioned. -
Yes, quail groping is not endorsed by the QG. I happily pronounce quale to rhyme with kuàilè 快樂

Bah, there’s already a hundred “illuminated translations” out there. Going forward I am happy to represent the quale grokker community.

A thread for poems Original or quoted Compose or discuss Five, seven, then five. A form we know very well. Cast off this constraint. For those times when, Expression is more important, Feel free to bend rules.

Google yields even more reliable results if you put site:thedaobums.com in your query. It's a great tip to know as of course works with any other domain name. On a similar note, i noticed when viewing a user's content history (either via the newspaper icon on profile, or the 🔍Find Content popup) it only goes back a few months. To get the full list you just have to click Posts on left side of the window, or from the Content Type drop-down if using a small window.

Considering Private Neidan Subforum
Nintendao replied to forestofclarity's topic in Daoist Discussion
Scrutinizing from the top-left (ignoring getting yeeted by slang) i got "tv hi ki" (classical for "turn on the television, say hi to qi.") which does in fact remind me of a Christmas long past, when sat for countless hours in front of that glowing phosphor portal, painstakingly reassembling the Triforce of Wisdom. After that I got the bigger picture and received some hooker dinosaur love. That said, it goes without saying there must always be some wiggle room in what constitutes thread derailment or downright goofing. Having a clear declaration of where it should be avoided is a good idea. And I agree it would be nice to be able to represent specific lineages in a respectable and precise manner. -
Once upon a time, Zena the Poet was asked to describe what it feels like to ride a bike. After a moment of reflection, she recited: Balancing on my butt-bone I press my toes onto the pedals As the wind rushes through my hair A thousand years later, Albert the Learned was seen sitting on a block of wood while smushing flower petals under his feet, with a fan pointed at his head. When asked what he was doing, he replied "I am riding a bye cycle! You probably wouldn't understand it."

I think sombody mentioned huáng? This might be useful. Who knows? Anatomical Composition of the Mesentery The mesentery is a double-layered fold of peritoneum that suspends the small and large intestines from the posterior abdominal wall while providing a conduit for blood vessels, lymphatics, and nerves. Embedded within it are autonomic nerve fibers, deriving from both sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, which innervate the intestines and mesenteric vasculature. Enteric Nervous System (ENS) Integration The ENS, intrinsic to the gastrointestinal tract, consists of the myenteric (Auerbach’s) plexus between longitudinal and circular smooth muscle layers and the submucosal (Meissner’s) plexus within the submucosa. These plexuses can function autonomously to control motility, secretion, and blood flow, and their fibers extend into the mesenteric connective tissue, providing pathways for nerve signals along the tract. Autonomic Control and Action Potentials Sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers pass through the mesentery and synapse with the ENS, smooth muscle, blood vessels, and secretory cells. The smooth muscle of the gut exhibits slow-wave potentials (basic electrical rhythms) generated by Interstitial Cells of Cajal. When these slow waves reach threshold, action potentials are triggered, causing rhythmic contractions. These action potentials propagate via gap junctions and are modulated by enteric and autonomic nerves, ensuring coordinated intestinal motility and peristalsis. Physiological Implication Through the mesentery, the ENS and autonomic nerves transmit excitatory (e.g., acetylcholine) and inhibitory (e.g., norepinephrine, nitric oxide) signals to smooth muscle to regulate contraction patterns, local blood flow, and secretory activity. This allows the mesentery not just to support the intestines mechanically, but also to mediate neurogenic control of digestion and vascular tone.

Holy crap I'll read up on that! I just bumped an old thread so as not to clutter this one if anything turns out
