  1. Jing to Qi - a Technical Question

What if, the Yuan Jing were thought of as unformed clay. They clay can be molded into any number of shapes, each having their different qualities and uses. They are all still clay, though. Likewise the jing can be put to lots of different uses, sexual being one of them. Further, say one has already made the clay into some shape, but then decides to change it to something else. It's going to take more work than if they started out to make the second shape in the first place.
  2. Herbal Formulas

Infusion of Usnea Lichen Usnea can easily be spotted growing on trees and fallen twigs. It is usually called "old man's beard," but it's very important to note that this is NOT the same plant as "Spanish moss," which also gets called "old man's beard." The active ingredient, usnic acid, is alcohol soluble, and is a natural antibiotic. The make the infusion, or "cold tincturing," is one of the oldest and easiest methods. 1. Harvest enough usnea to completely fill a container, without compressing it too much. I used a 16 oz stainless steel water bottle. If you use clear glass, wrap the bottle in cloth/sock or just store it anywhere away from light. 2. Fill the bottle with at least 80 proof liquor of your choice. I used blended scotch, and since my usnea was grown on oak trees, the flavor actually enhanced each other! 3. Wait at least 6 weeks, then the liquid is ready to use. The the longer time, the better. Give the bottle an occasional shake to mix up the ingredients. I'll usually top off the same bottle a couple times with fresh liquor once it gets half way down. After that, discard the usnea after the liquid is used up. The standard use is just a few drops in some water as a homeopathic immune booster. I usually just gargle and swallow a shot of it straight whenever I feel like I might be coming down with something (or just for the hell of it.) I've also used it like a mouthwash to heal a canker sore. I recently went for it and drank the entire bottle over the course of a 24 hour fast. I was surprised it actually worked and cleared up a small skin infection on my leg that had been lingering for over a year and stubbornly resisting various topical treatments. I'm going to wait a few months before collecting a new batch, though. Since it's so hot and rainy, there's too many other molds and fungus floating around out there.
  3. What are you listening to?

THE FLOWER DUET from LAKME by Leo Delibes, new English translation by Joel Sattler LAKMÉ: Look Mallika! Lianes are in bloom Casting downward their shadows Over the sacred stream that flows calm and somber Awakened by the sound of the song-happy birds! MALLIKA: Oh dear mistress! It's time at last I see you smiling The time has come and I am reading What was closed up in the heart of Lakme! LAKMÉ [in duet with Mallika, below] Dome canopy sweet jasmine All the roses forever Flowers in the morn freshly born Call us to come together Ah glide along and sing along The current so strong The sun so hot the water is shimmering Hand skimming the surface nonchalantly Cutting through the edge While birds are singing singing sing enchanted Dome canopy white jasmine Call us to come together Please MALLIKA [in duet with Lakme, above]: Under dome canopy where the white jasmine All the roses forever River flowers in the morn freshly born Let us both go down together Gently we glide on and we float along Follow the current so strong The sun so hot the water is shimmering Hand skimming the surface nonchalantly Come let us reach the edge Where the spring sleeps And birds singing, sing enchanted Under dome canopy where the white jasmine Let us go down together LAKME: I, don't know what overcame me To fill my heart full of fear When my father goes down alone to the doomed city I tremble, I tremble, my dear MALLIKA: Ganesha will watch over his protege Up til the pond where the merry do play With wings of snow swans are swimming Come let us pick the lotus blue LAKME: Oh yes, let's go where white swans are swimming And let us pick the lotus blue LAKMÉ [in duet with Mallika, below] Dome canopy sweet jasmine All the roses forever Flowers in the morn freshly born Call us to come together Ah glide along and sing along The current so strong The sun so hot the water is shimmering Hand skimming the surface nonchalantly Cutting through the edge While birds are singing singing sing enchanted Dome canopy white jasmine Call us to come together Please MALLIKA [in duet with Lakme, above]: Under dome canopy where the white jasmine All the roses forever River flowers in the morn freshly born Let us both go down together Gently we glide on and we float along Follow the current so strong The sun so hot the water is shimmering Hand skimming the surface nonchalantly Come let us reach the edge Where the spring sleeps And birds singing, sing enchanted Under dome canopy where the white jasmine Let us go down together _______________________ Original lyrics in French by Edmond Gondinet : LAKMÉ Viens, Mallika, les lianes en fleurs Jettent déjà leur ombre Sur le ruisseau sacré qui coule, calme et sombre, Eveillé par le chant des oiseaux tapageurs! 4. What animal are you?

  5. Trump talk

While perhaps appearing to be a low brow jab based on physical appearance, I was attempting a call to attention the potent non-verbal communication that by literally sharpening her claws, she's not afraid to throw down, and I respect that. I'm just more of a visual thinker, and treasure the opportunity to demonstrate "life imitating art." No, orange man good!
  6. Trump talk

(For those unfamiliar with Nameks, I'm actually complementing her. Hey I'm not racist, I'm a fashionist!)
  7. The Bible shows us that when animals behave strangely, we should take into consideration that they may be reacting to something invisible. What do you think of this story? Have you heard or experienced other accounts of animals doing mysterious things, especially to protect their human from something unusual? Even if you don't believe in angels and other such creatures, I have another guess. Was his animal somehow picking up on subconscious cues from Balaam, who in his heart did not really want to go with these people? (The rest of the story is about the king trying to get Balaam to use his magic for military purposes.)
  8. Well, isn't that pretty much a prerequisite for the pursuit of theological diversions? That, combined with an unshakable suspicion that one is in constant contact with otherworldly beings whether aware of it or not.
  9. An interesting argument. A shrewd enemy will more likely swindle someone into a wrong action by promising some reward (encouragement), versus simply trying to convince them not to do something good (opposition). On the other hand, a parent firmly telling a child "no" might be thought of as being a big meanie, but may really be trying to prevent something harmful. This could get really hairy when dealing with something like warring nations, both seeing the other side as evil. Perhaps @silent thunder has touched on a deeper aspect of devilry necessarily embedded in the persona of a jealous and wrathful God. A truly all-powerful being must reconcile both creative and destructive faculties. Good vs Bad is too one-dimensional. Look for instance at the "Curse of Greyface" from Principia Discordia: Order is often thought of as beneficial, and disorder as undesirable. However, an eclectic disorderliness can give rise to superb creativity, just as an over-imposed orderliness can be debilitatingly oppressive.
  10. Trump talk

Hey guys is this the tweet everyone has been going crazy about this week? It seems a lot more nationalist than racist. Taken in the context of the entire point being made, the famous "go back ... came from" verbiage seems at least slightly less offensive than the feeding frenzy has made it out to be, the full blown iconic racist anthem (a la Gary Clark Jr's recent hit "This Land" rightfully laments). Heck, he even said they should "come back" in the very next sentence! Fake news making sure to leave that out. I really doubt that the degenerates that started the unfortunate chant during the NC rally last night had any idea what this even says.
  11. H.R. 420

They really ought to just pass this already. Why not reclaim some much needed tax revenue from what’s already ending up in the hands of the black market. I have mixed feelings about the actual benefits of the stuff, but I damn sure know more people die or worse from alcohol abuse, and something never did sit right with me the thought that someone could go to jail for doing nothing more than caring for a houseplant.
  12. Welcome Post

Believe it or not WikiHow is getting some decent distillates of the basics. Jump right in, but take it slow and safe https://www.wikihow.com/Develop-Your-Chi https://www.wikihow.com/Awaken-Your-Psychic-Power-to-Feel-Your-Aura ♥
  13. What happens to suicides?

Mostly because Kar3n said so 😇 I mean I guess we could split hairs and say that if someone was actively harming others, and decided to delete themselves, would net suffering decrease over time? Or if I existed in a hypothetical karmic vacuum, and nobody would know the difference either way. But for the most part, it’s only passing the buck.
  14. What happens to suicides?

Trust in the value of strangers. No need to google for teachers. There is likely one right down the street. Provided the weather is decent, go ahead and walk over there when you get a break. Also check behind any trees you may pass. Do not be afraid to give a big smile and a wave to the teacher wherever you meet them. Even if it's forced. It need not go any further than that for now. Repeat this process, and the truth you seek will eventually open up. As for hell.. there's obviously no way to say with absoluteness what becomes of an individual mind that undergoes whatever form of death awaits it. But may I remind, that in the case of suicide, continuation and multiplication of suffering are guaranteed. Even if not in the experience of the individual, but by those they'd leave behind..
  15. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

SUPER HUMMAN stunt man keepin it O.G.
  16. Following up again on one of the goals of Taoism - here Master Chen (Yun Xiang Tseng) describes a little about becoming immortal (shenxian). He's got credentials, too, being the lineage master for Wudang daojiao in the U.S. Now I'll be honest, even if a lot of us at some point in our youth became interested in immortality by secretly wanting to become like super saiyan warrior wizards, I do like how this lecture seems to close with the idea of really just being a great person for yourself and the ones you love. By the way for anyone interested, the "Dao House" out in Colorado is still raising support to ultimately build the new temple, as part of Chen's life mission given to him by Grand Master Li Cheng Yu. 17. What happens to suicides?

For now all that comes to mind is a variation on Pascal's Wager. Say you did somehow end up in Hell, things stand to get infinitely worse than they are now. Whereas if you serve out the rest of your time on Earth to search for God, then things stand to get infinitely better. I know which bet I'd take.
  18. Ask not what Taoism can do for you, but what you can do for those suffering?
  19. Haiku Chain

I just wind them up and watch the clockworks run down fine times we live in
  20. Facebook Should Be Shut Down!

All I know is that the moment I deactivated my FB account, I literally felt like a weight was lifted off of me that I didn't even realize was there. Something haunting that f'n place.
  21. The trees reach for the sky just as flame rises from a log. If viewed as a super duper time lapse a forest might look a lot like a green fire, or a seething foam. Energy progressing to ever finer densities. What will you do as a body of light? Can a fish dream of walking on land? Entry to the mysterious pass is inherently strewn with wonder.
