It's simple enough to feel what it means in a most general sense. Imagine you're standing under the sun, and slightly hunched over. That was my first impression, that it was meant as a hint, to make you think "what the heck could this chapter be about, then?" As in the ones Jeff pointed out, it's clearly sounding like there are others involved.
