How to get the clear view? Reading dozens of advaita books doesn't help, in fact any kind of practice may or may not help. There is no cause effect relationship. It just happens (or it doesn't)
-
It's a bit like cross word puzzle. There is often more than one solution but as you go on things can get rather complicated 😀😀 Instead of getting easier, simpler, and even disappearing into thin air
-
Sure, and by definition all these exist in your own mind only

Such is the myth. But more likely he was being pragmatic and found carrying lantern very effective in the dark. In which case, what can enlightenment do for you???😀
-
PROGRESS so please then humbly let me say about the progress on the way when insult not, nor flattering cause never any doubt within but wishing you a lovely day. peace

Yep, but since old habits die hard, I'm now gonna cultivate the virtues of the ancient Cynics(check out Diogenes)😀😀😀

🌕 Chan Master Hongzhi Zhengjue's poem : ☀ The water is so clear and transparent, The fishes have yet to appear. The sky is so vast without boundaries, The birds fly in it without leaving traces. 一一> This is the enlightened mind of the unity of Silent Illumination: within the clear transparent water and the vast open sky, there is motion一while the mind is silent, there is active illumination, which is luminous and spiritually animated. _/|\_ ❤ _/|\_ ___________________________________________

The topic of revelation. Anything to go by, I am now inclined to give enlightenment a pass. 😀

1. It's the definition of mystery 2. The mystics 3. Their reports and writings

I love a dram of malt. Only the best. Used to buy the 200ml bottles so I don't get carried away. Been 6 months without. Just because I can😀

Eternal quest. But majority are not interested in depth. Keeping themselves distracted. But easy to see, in old age some have 2nd thoughts, regrets, doubts
-
Maybe, but it's a cheap hobby for sure😀😀

In a relaxed way, like they say, keep the mind on the leash, but not too tight and not too lose. Effortless effort maybe

Yes I read about that somewhere. The absolute (Krishna) is darkblue

Personally I don't really meditate in the orthodox way. I want this clear head space permanently in everyday life. 24/7 And it's possible, if you this is your main interest overriding all attachments and so forth
-
Ah, you see, it's intuitive knowledge after all. The debate happens in the dualistic mind. Let everybody get there and see for himself😀
-
The Tibetan book of the dead explains it all. You have a good chance at the moment of death if you are not distracted and go into a meditative state so to speak. If you become unconscious while in thought you left in muddy water. If you can stay aware your soul would leave out the top of your head into the clear light
-
Very well said, it is debatable, you can't be dogmatic about it. Funny thing, even that debate or different views happen within that space. So IMHO at the moment of death proper all is revealed. Personally I am inclined to disagree with Dzogchen because it doesn't explain the situation prior to the individual conciousness. Or maybe it has some other explanation, which is outside my experience. My gut feeling is that Vedanta and the old rishis got it right. This luminous infinite space is eternal reality. Everything that appears in it is temporary and the nature of thought. The whole universe

Still, for a sceptic quite vague. All I would say is, your mind opens up into infinity, void, but Cristal clear, you don't feel your body or surroundings just that prana flowing gently through(no breath). And even without prior book knowledge you simply know this is it. Then you find countless references in all religions/traditions. It's like a miracle. Mind blowing (pun intended😀😀)
-
Intuitively, it can't be explained. Even you might find literature where bigger minds than myself had a good go at it😀
-
Yes, excellent.

Awareness or natural mind is sometimes called universal conciousness. It can be experienced only. Everything happens in that space. All thoughts, including god's, devils, spirits, immortals, whatever, you name it, including yourself and everything. How and why nobody knows it's a mystery. But that this universal conciousness exist and that humans can experience it has been known to mankind since forever and is well documented. Yet, I know that the great majority have no clue what it's about. I signed up to this group because there are at least a few it seems who have had some experience, like the breathless state for example that occurs sometimes. Nothing to do with drugs, usually drugs cause only hallucinations which are like dreams within the mind. If they cause transcendental states it would be just momentary, under the influence so to speak

Once you been there the fear of death is gone. Replaced by curiosity. To be relaxed, fully aware at the moment of death and see what happens for myself. That said, it probably helps if you can die peacefully in your bed of old age, rather than demented, suffering excruciating pain or die an accidental or violent death
