  1. Celibacy, and also MCO

Yes, 28. Gotcha, will let him know. Thanks.
  2. Celibacy, and also MCO

Yeah, I remember reading that in Damo Mitchell's books as well in the chapter about merging yin and yang qi. Scary stuff.
  3. Celibacy, and also MCO

Thank you for those fantastic posts @freeform. Incredibly helpful and really explained so much to me. It's scary how quickly things can turn wrong in these internal arts. Really gives credence to the whole idea that one needs a genuine Teacher to lead one away from an errant Path. Often one cannot see one's own errors unfortunately. I showed this thread to one of my friends who has been practicing celibacy, and he has a question for recommendation. He doesn't have a girlfriend. What is the recommendation for release in that case? Masturbation twice per week? Thanks again
  4. Enlightened movies

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring is absolutely incredible. Highly recommended.
  5. Book Recommendations

Hi! I recently finished reading The Master Key by Robert Peng, and the stories with Peng's training with his master were truly amazing. I can recommend reading the book just for the first four chapters and also the last part of the book. Beautiful book. Anyway to my question. I've already read and enjoyed books like: Life of Milarepa Opening the Dragon Gate Autobiography of a Yogi A Peaceful Warrior The Magus of Java So I would like to ask if any of you have read other books that have similar stories of student-master relationships and found inspiring; or simply books that detail the inner journey of a disciple on his or hers way to enlightenment? Thanks in advance!

@Gerard: Of course. That's a given. That doesn't mean that one cannot enjoy beautiful works of art or inspirational books that point to the highest wisdom - that which lies within us. Practice always takes precedence. But thank you for sharing that poem, it is beautiful.

Wow, thank you all! @Fa Xin: Ah yes, I forgot to mention that one. I've read it. It's great!
  8. Jimi Hendrix = god

Give Pink Floyd a try. They were channeling something from elsewhere.
  9. Ramalinga Vallalar siddhis

@s1va Where can one read his works? Are they available in English? Thank you.
  10. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Greetings, So yesterday morning I went ahead and purchased the first two volumes of the Flying Phoenix (I'll get the rest when I've done the first two volumes diligently for some time) system with express shipping to Europe! Very excited to begin this new chapter of highly exalted and mysterious Qigong practice. Thank you @zen-bear for giving us the opportunity to practice this sacred art. Can barely wait. Have read through the first forty pages of the thread here and excited to go through it all. I personally am doing this as a complement to my seated shamatha practice as I have health problems; in particular kidney and gut / LDT coarse blockages that are sometimes painful (when I have done other forms of Qigong) but most of my health has improved vastly since I began meditating (seriously) 2.5 years ago but I still lack vitality and the vigor I really want. So I am very excited to embark on this new chapter of health and vitality.
  11. Greetings

    Wonderful. Well met!
  12. Greetings

Hi, I am Anshino. Happy to be here. Lots of great topics and people. Thank you, EDIT: Short introduction: I have been on the spiritual path seriously practicing for the past two-three years. I primarily come from a background of Buddhism with a focus on shamatha (anapana) ala Bill Bodri's methods of cultivation; then turned g yogic after finding a wonderful Teacher, and now exploring Daoist systems as a way of supporting health so that the body is less of an obstacle for my practice. I love the simplicity and beauty of Daoism in particular and especially in terms of the dual-cultivation method of xing-ming. I am about to commence some serious Qigong training and am very dedicated to a conscious celibate lifestyle that will foster the fastest growth and deep healing. I hope to learn and share experiences with the students of the eternal Arts here. Thank you,
  13. Greetings

Thank you for the invitation. @Marblehead : I have added a bit of my background edited in the first post. Currently very interested in Qigong for the purposes of improving my health and removing my blockages. I have blockages in gut area and kidney area especially from what I can tell I and have been using SFQ (five elements) along with a standing Zhan Zhuang mostly, but am now examining other systems as well. I am part of a Tantric lineage but the foundation required for the advanced techniques is all to be laid by the practitioner by improving their health and establishing the foundation (the lower dantien) before the higher teachings are taught - by primarily shamatha/concentration techniques along with a healthy lifestyle. I am also doing my best to be celibate for the accumulation of energy and regaining lost health. But find it difficult living with a girlfriend. As long as I do my best, it should be okay. Patience is truly a virtue in this aspect! Thank you for asking! How about yourself?
