All Welcome for open conversation with no secret motives
Zork replied to welkin's topic in General Discussion
You would be surprised at the ways the elite will twist this and let the masses do the dirty work for them. Like many sons of politicians which served at the home guard on WW2 in the US or Trump avoiding draft for Vietnam despite being an athlete at college. The only way for this to be effective is to have a "starship troopers" type of government which is the last thing i would like to see. Don't get me wrong i believe in draft and it would be good for women too to be drafted. -

The constitution of the US has it hidden in the amendment that allows people to carry firearms in order to defend Democracy. Most people nowadays misinterpret it and use it as an excuse to sell firearms that were never meant to be used by the public or never meant to be used against domestic threats aimed at toppling the lawful government. -
I have practiced the style for 9 months. What i can tell you is that spirit possession never happened. Each person has a different reaction to the system. I personally never experienced spontaneous movements with the style and i very rarely smelled anything. What i did experience, was very intense dreams and visitations by entities. The system seems to protect the practitioner from non well meaning entities so I can't say i had much problems with it besides the WTF moments it caused. The major problem of the system is the long list of requirements and restrictions that it has. And all must be adhered to, because in my case at least, any violation caused headaches!

What do siddhis have to do with anything? People can have siddhis for various random reasons like good past life karma. I can point you to people that have powers but have no proper training or even embarked on the road to enlightenment.

hmm maybe i wasn't clear. Post graduate makes a division between graduates and post graduates by definition. What leads you to make that division in the first place? The way i view qigong or energy work in general has no similarity to rigid separation of disciplines like that. If you have reason to believe otherwise please share your thoughts.

I had friends in the 90s who loved Frank Miller.

It could be anything really, from changing jobs, to changing partners, to having kids. to losing relatives. Anything can happen. Losing motivation is common. It doesn't necessarily come from lack of character. Personalities change in time. That is normal. Yours truly hasn't changed that much but i can't say that i am the same person i was 7 years ago so..... You know i had a conversation with my teacher a few days ago on how to judge if one makes progress. When training alone it is very easy to feel that one isn't making progress. The magic won't be there every day. I am happy that for you it is there. Speaking for myself all i have seen the last 2 years are some real WTF moments but nothing linear or expected.

Yes it is more fiction than fact. But using fact alone, i don't think it would make be a good story. Furthermore i think that the quote is misplaced here. It was supposed to show indifference in the face of death. Hong Kong protests don't give me the impression that they are fights to the death. These people want to live a better life and will risk injury but not death.

It is a recorded historical quote. One of the few things that the movie gets right.

He is unwilling to pay professionals to solve his problem.

@Taomeow I am not being critical but 7 years is a long time because, you know, "life happens" and things get unpredictable. Life isn't only about time and money. And how do you know who is at graduate level then?
-
Why does JAJ have a seven year program? What does the curriculum include? It is a significant amount of time and money to invest. One could get a degree and postgraduate studies in that time.

Too late moron. I already have a life. Now stfu and get out of the thread. You don't know anything about christ and you have no authority to speak on behalf of taoism.
-
And you are a disgrace to your lineage. Or you lineage sucks big time. Who on his right mind would ordain a bipolar like you? Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matt.7:16 Enjoy!
-
The same goes for the physical space you occupy. Leave the thread and cease diverting it with unfounded and unsupported nonsense!
-
That goes for any master that hasn't been recorded by historians moron!
-
Whatever moron! You talk about dribles like a true master of strawmen that you are. Did you show proof? Nope. Case closed! You aren't a taoist priest. There are more chances that your first name is priest. Idiot!
-
Belief is based on faith which is the absence of concrete evidence by definition you moron! And for the record i am not a christian!!! Didn't the spirits tell you that?
-
You have 3 options: A)provide proof for your claims that Jesus talked about the love of God. B)retract your statements. C) make a fool of yourself. You chose c. Nuff said.
-
you don't get it do you? We actually like you but you are assuming an aggressive stance against a religion you don't have deep knowledge of. Do you understand how much degrading your behavior is to your own status?
-
Are you familiar with eastern christian monastic traditions? You even sound like them! All this is besides the point and another strawman. Is chan buddhism a fusion of buddhism and daoism yes or no? If yes then all the above is just nonsense. Seriously? Shifting the burden of proof? You need to find them to back up your argument because i can tell you i have read the thing (Bible) and the references you talk about aren't there! The burden of proof is on you. You claimed that there is mention of "Love of God" in the new testament. Either provide proof or retract your statements. Plus this proves that you have messed up your own beliefs. You wrote this months ago and then you are telling me above that taoism doesn't care about fellow man.... When you clear the confusion inside your brain tell me to respond accordingly. For the time being you aren't making sense nor supporting any arguments. You hold two mutually exclusive views at the same time. Which one is the correct one?
-
This is a double edged sword that cuts both ways! Taoism is based on two books. How do you know who wrote each book? Were you present? No you weren't of course. You trust people to hand you over the sayings verbatim. That goes for taoism too you know and it is laughable argument because in the absence of other evidence to the contrary one must take the writers to their word. Chan buddhism disagrees. Any other strawman? Where did Jesus talk about the love of god? He talks about the love towards the people not gods. Leave me in my ignorance!
-
Thanks i will look it up.

Out of curiosity which part of the teachings of Jesus do you find incompatible with taoism? You are equating modern Christianity with the teachings of Jesus. They aren't the same. The "just war" doctrine isn't part of the teachings of Christ (turn the other cheek anyone?) yet it is part of the teachings of the Catholic church. As Gandhi put it "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ" What sets Christians from Taoists apart is the belief in the Creator/supreme god of Jews. Jesus never mentioned or identified the "heavenly father" with the creator god. In fact if one ignores the monotheistic approach of Christianity then many similarities between it and Buddhism are obvious. Do you consider Buddhism and Taoism so different too?

If the event in Frabato are true then i believe you. Nazis seem to have hunted down hermetics both to eradicate them and gain their occult knowledge.
