A book i read some years ago and has become one of my favourites: Solaris by Stanislaw Lem. I am not a fan of science fiction but this book is really good

so everything was just in the mind of Herrigel? hahaha I am not even surprised honestly, but it is very funny. The difference between what the master said and what this german understood must had been huge. I wonder how many deluded westerners, included Herrigel, there have been.

After many years trying to internally (and externally) cultivate myself, I have come to the conclusion that good posture is essential for health and well being. The problem is that today we tend to develop bad posture as we spend a lot of time sitting in a desk playing with technological dives or driving. What are some good qigong styles to cultivate proper bodily posture? In my opinion ba duan jin is pretty good for this, especially the first exercise, lifting the sky, but I would like to know other good styles. Also zhan zhuang is good but too difficult for me unfortunately.

Thanks to mma scammers have it a little more difficult to sell their "magic secret techniques" from some hidden chinese mountain. But there are always deluded people eager to fall in whatever big promise

Do u think it is a good exercise to improve breathing? My left nostril is clearly more blocked than the right
-

i like this sentence a lot, i think often about it and think is quite accurate. But it is daoist, from Lao Tse, not from Confucius as far as I know
-
I want to share a video of a qi gong master doing some basic exercises for opening the joints. Feel free to comment!

A book everybody should read: gulag archiielago. It is the history of prisons, forced labor and the totalitarian law system in the former soviet union, from the perspective of an innocent man who spent many years of his life there. It is not a novel, it is real history. Everybody should know what happened there

as far as i know ALL social institutions are after money and power. That is why I tend to be very sceptic towards big organized groups

Exercises to open the chest and intercostal muscles
Toni replied to Toni's topic in Daoist Discussion
Could you record it in a video please? I am not sure how to do it. Thnks! -
These last days I am focusing on exercises to open and stretch the chest area, the rib cage and the intercostal muscles. I want to open the channels, meridians and chakras of this area (), as I feel I have some deep tissue blockages there. I am doing several exercises, mainly consisting of opening the arms at the side to spread the chest. Can you share some good exercises/ideas to help remove blockages there? I link some of the exercises I am doing: In this video the first and the third exercise focus very well on chest opening. The third one is very good and similar to an exercise recommended by Charles Atlas. Also in the next video this beautiful woman does an exercise to open the chest. The first exercise of ba duan jin In all these exercises we see the pattern of extending the arms in order to open and stretch the chest.

Exercises to open the chest and intercostal muscles
Toni replied to Toni's topic in Daoist Discussion
it is very important for general health to open the rib cage, to keep it flexible and with good mobility -
Does anyone else suffer from this? It is a common problem today due to the fact that we sit a lot. This can cause problems in the lower back region. I have only discovered I have this problem recently, although now I know I have had it for years, and maybe it is causing my tinnitus. I have done some research and fortunately there are good resources on the internet about how to fix this. What they say is you should stretch your hip flexors and adductors, together with your lumbar spine, while strengthening the core, the abs and the glutes. Right now I am focusing on exercises to balance my hips again. Let's see if I can improve at my 35 years old. Edit: Here you have some good links about how to fix this: http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/hips_dont_lie_fixing_your_force_couples
