  1. Everyone post some favorite quotes!

"How you do anything is how you do everything."
  2. Sadhguru is certainly smart and charismatic, and generally worth listening to, however I don't know what to think about his authenticity. He is basically a mainstream spiritual brand now, haha.
  3. Finding a master or school

So, basically none of the teachers/schools that you can find publicly/online are "the real thing"? If this is true, then 99% of us are doomed from the start, and there's no point in even trying to find a source of authentic teaching.
  4. Opening the Dragon Gate of the Antarctic

Weaklings! Wim Hof could have done that while naked!
  5. Some more advice needed on practice

Can you tell me what is the difference between the two, apart from the spelling? I couldn't really find any concrete info about it.
  6. What languages do you speak?

Digging up this old thread, but here goes: Hungarian, Romanian, English, and a tiny little bit of German and French.
  7. What are you listening to?

Lateralus. One of the few albums that I would call perfect, from the first second to the last. (Waiting for the new one to finally come out...)
  8. Does music deplete qi/jing?

Hey freeform, Deep and flowing ambient music for example can deepen the meditation experience. But I agree, it depends on how you define meditation.
  9. Does music deplete qi/jing?

High level and quality music - depending on the genre and artist - has the potential to heal, energize, calm, supercharge your meditation practice, even induce meditation/altered states of consciousness on its own, and so on. Music is magic.
  10. What do you sleep on?

I would recommend avoiding synthetic mattresses made with memory foam and the like. They are harmful for the environment AND to You! They are impregnated with chemicals, give off toxic gases, etc. Always prefer mattresses made with natural materials like latex, coconut, cotton (preferably organic). A traditional futon or shikibuton is even better!
  11. Hello Everyone!

I found this forum a few weeks ago, and the treasure chest of information, knowledge and wisdom that has accumulated (and ever-growing) here is just astounding. It quickly became my new favourite virtual place. :-) I am a student of classical Hatha Yoga, and I've recently become more seriously interested in QiGong and Taoist internal arts in general, and that's what led me to TDB. Respect to all who keep this place alive! Thank you!
