  1. Where to learn neidan/neigong properly ? + How i ended up here

FWIW, I share your reservations. As a viable alternative, you might find Jim MacRitchie's (completely free) Eight Extraordinary Meridians Training Program to be a useful entry point into what seems to interest you. https://www.globalqiproject.com/eight-extraordinary-meridians-training-program/ If you're prepared to pay a fairly nominal sum, you could probably do a lot worse than trying out the first couple of methods of Ren Xue Yuan Gong (which starts to get seriously esoteric when it reaches methods 5 and 6).
  2. Neurofeedback

No need to apologise. I actually stated that:
  3. Neurofeedback

Well... This thread's gone seriously off topic at warp speed... 🤣 However, some of it's certainly pretty interesting. 👍🏻 That video led me to this one, which i found even more interesting: So, thanks for the derail. 🙏🏻
  4. Neurofeedback

I've edited that post because I originally posted Wise's books in the wrong order. I intended to suggest that people start with the second book that she published, Awakening the Mind. Her untimely death is indeed tragic, not least because the torch that she carried seems to have been extinguished to all intents and purposes. The High Performance Mind CDs could be pretty useful and the tracks are available for download quite cheaply from Amazon. Her second book has some detailed meditation scripts that may similarly be of some use to those who cannot afford to purchase a Mind Mirror EEG biofeedback device.
  5. Neurofeedback

Thanks for starting this thread. 🙏🏻 Hopefully, I'll learn quite a lot.🤞🏻 For anyone who stumbles across it, here's the link to where I derailed the Psychedelics thread in response to @Shadow_self's introduction of EEGs into the mix. I'm going to start by hypothesising that there are two broad categories of neurobiofeedback, although they do have some overlap: Medical/psychological/psychiatric Spiritual/psychotherapeutic Personally, I'm not particularly interested in the mainstream psychopathologising medical/psychological/psychiatric model because I consider it to be fatally flawed due mainly, but not solely, to its commercially motivated vested interests. What interests me is the Maxwell Cade/Anna Wise "lineage" of spiritual/psychotherapeutic neurofeedback, which evolved from an investigation of healthy individuals. I recommend that anyone interested in this branch of investigation starts with Wise's Awakening the Mind: A Guide to Harnessing the Power of Your Brainwaves. The other two introductory texts I recommend are Cade & Coxhead's The Awakened Mind: Biofeedback and the Development of Higher States of Awareness and Wise's The High-Performance Mind: Mastering Brainwaves for Insight, Healing, and Creativity (both available to borrow from the Internet Archive Library: https://archive.org/details/texts).
  6. I'm wondering if we (those of us with an interest in neurobiofeedback) would like to migrate to a thread that's specifically for the purpose of discussing that topic (because this thread's title is specifically about the use of psychedelics for cultivation)?
  7. That's actually a back-handed compliment, my friend. OK. I'll take you very seriously on this one. Firstly, from what you've stated, it actually appears to be deeply personal for you. You've battled the establishment and lost your career over these sorts of issues. Secondly, it's not quite so personal for me and, from my perspective, it's crystal clear that you're speaking your truth and, moreover, it also appears to me that you're doing doing so in a remarkably emotionally literate manner. Thirdly, we're probably comparing apples and oranges here because my primary interest (and expertise) as far as neurofeedback is concerned relates to its use as an adjunct to psychospriritual development in the field of (humanistic) psychotherapy (i.e. health) rather than its use in the field of (mechanistic) psychology/psychiatry (i.e. psychopathology). Fourthly, like you, I'm seriously unimpressed by the use of the chemical cosh, in all its varieties. Perhaps we can make a new start? All the Best to you, my friend, Giles _/|\_
  8. The kraken wakes. 🤣 Quiet day at the office dear? 🤔 Anyway.., citing a 2½ year old newspaper article isn't actually particularly convincing. Things have certainly moved on since January 2022 as well. From Psychiatry Today (although it's actually dated August 2023 🤣): Food and Drug Administration Clears Neurofeedback Intervention for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: https://psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.pn.2023.08.8.60
  9. Long-term meditators self-induce high-amplitude gamma synchrony during mental practice: https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.0407401101 It can be trained using a Mind Mirror/Vilistus for biofeedback:
  10. Wuji/Zhan Zhuang side effect

Hi @Branza, For some people, The Way of Energy and the associated Stand Still Be Fit videos appear to be entirely adequate. However, in my experience, if it goes wrong for them, there's no real support from the Lam lineage. For that reason, I'd strongly advise you to stop practicing Lam's Zhan Zhuang and jump ship to the Ren Xue Yuan Gong lineage, which offers an infinitely better support system. Here's an overview of the first four (of nine) methods: Best Wishes, Giles

You're most welcome. Unfortunately, I've no idea whatsoever whether or not most daoist/chi gong/TCM practitioners are anti Tattoos.

Seems to be very interesting. I will read it. Thank you for your recommendation. 🙏🏻 Could I ask what you mean by "these two pieces"?
  16. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll certainly bear it in mind. 😊
  17. Of course it doesn't. For that you'll need to follow one, or more, of these Paths:

What practice(s), if any, have you been using recently? Also, if I might ask, what practice(s) landed you in your initial pickle?
