Eduardo replied to Asher Topaz's topic in Daoist Discussion
However, I must be honest I practiced Zhineng qigong years ago and the effect was extremely poor, to date I have opted for the Flying Phoenix Qigong taught by Master Terry Dunn which is powerful, restorative and healing.- 12 replies

You are possibly referring to the Zhineng Qigong system, which means Qigong of Wisdom or Intelligence.- 12 replies

You must understand, something that many thinkers and scholars overlook the influence of the philosophical school called Samkhya, has permeated the Yoga of Patanjali, Advaita Vedanta, Jainism and Buddhism. Samkhya considered ignorance (AvidyÄ coincides with buddhism too) as the root-cause of suffering and bondage (Bandha). The Samkhya offers a way out of this suffering through discriminative knowledge (Viveka). That knowledge, which leads to Moksha (liberation), consists in the discrimination between Prakriti (avyakta-vyakta) and Puruį¹£a (Jna) the real Self. Moksha is described by Samkhya scholars as a state of liberation. It is a concept that is also found in Jain doctrine. The Samkhya and Jainism are intimately related with some concepts, in Buddhism instead, the term moksha is not used, but nirvana (extinction), but it pursues the same end; liberation from pain and suffering from the wheel of incarnations. The liberated being becomes an indestructible Kevala (isolated or independent), with the attributes of Omnipotence and Omniscience, attributes of the Real Self or pure Spirit.

Your way of meditating is very close to mine, your reactions and sensations are very similar to my personal experiences. You should approach kriya yoga since you are naturally trying to open the pineal center, called ajna, I don't think that the meditative systems focused mainly on qi can clear up your doubts, the most sensible thing is that you explore the yogic traditions. I suggest that you practice Ham-Sa japa as a form prior to meditation, as it can help to deepen the meditative experience, but you should urgently seek a kriya yoga teacher, since your experiences can be better understood by masters of kriya yoga.

I am writing this post because I have found the use of the Apana Vayu mudra to be beneficial. In my experience as an acupuncturist, I have been able to see cases of serious heart disease, pre-infarction, heart attack, heart failure in which this small mudra has saved many people from dying. Perform this mudra with both hands: bend your index finger and with the tip of this finger brush the base of the thumb, while those of the middle and ring fingers brush the tip of the thumb. Extend the little finger (it seems a bit complicated at first, but like everything in yoga, with practice you master it and find comfort) Its use is recommended for the public as it also has a liberating effect on harmful emotional pressures, such as old pain, trapped emotions, tensions, insecurity, and trauma. I leave this image (Taken from a free source) because it is amazingly simple to do, and it is normally recommended to keep the mudra for 20 to 50 minutes. Benefits according to ayurveda: 1. When there are symptoms of heart attack, this Mudra will help the person to recover from the pain instantly. 2. Remove blockages in blood veins and heal thickening of arteries. 3. Helps both high and low blood pressure. 4. Chest pain, tiredness and perspiration will be reduced immediately. 5. Regularizes irregular heartbeats. 6. Cures constipation. 7. In case of palpitations, this Mudra can normalize the pulse immediately. 8. Excess perspiration on the feet and hands is appeased. 9. It is beneficial in curing heartburn. 10. Increases the functional capacity of various organs of the digestive system.

Why do so few qigong masters radiate vitality?
Eduardo replied to Vajra Fist's topic in General Discussion
Actually, I know yoga teachers who radiate vitality and peace, but regarding qigong teachers, the exception is Sifu Terry Dunn, who is much younger than his real age and with little or no gray hair, without a bulging abdomen, or tired face. Mantak Chia can still look young is my opinion after seeing him in his last course on Udemy, he still has fresh facial skin, but he dyes his hair. -
Keep meditating and lowering the inner shields of tension and fear, you will find that a circular magnetic field forms around your body and head area, just as described in the illustrations of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, I personally think it is, indeed an expression of Kundalini energy. However, all these experiences are only external, the central thing, the only thing that matters is the calm and purity in which the meditator settles, where neither fears nor desires are formed. That is true natural mind-awareness-bliss.

One day, sometime they should comment on what the hell happened wuth Mantak Chia, for the good of those of us who recently came to the forum... Sorry to deviate from the main topic, but coming back to it, I suggest following the different series of Qigong taught by Sifu Terry Dunn Tao Tan Pai and Flying Phoenix Chi Kung.

Need Help For Severe Problem
Eduardo replied to OverseerFeatheredImmortal's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I never liked self-help books and new age, but any book by Louis L. Hay can help you clean the skeletons kept in the closet. (It can be very cheesy, yes, the way she writes) Self-hatred is the root cause of all failures and without putting aside that unpleasant feeling of being worth less than nothing, it is not possible to heal one's own life. -

Play sports, run daily. Go back to the primary. Life sucks but less, with the serotonin and dopamine generated by exercise. That also produce certain attractiveness for the opposite sex. Since high school I have been able to see how the sporty boys always attracted more girls. -
"The Grand Unification", magic, auras, chakras, spirits, karma, reincarnation, cultivation, alchemy
Eduardo replied to Nuralshamal's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
In the Buddhist line that I follow, illusions, disappointments and false hopes are one more fog of Samsara, a shackle of the twelve chains of dependent origination. To look at reality without glances, or mirages, is to see the naked truth. At this point the truth is a rare gem. -

I'm sorry to have seemed pessimistic, but I am pragmatic, regarding international treaties as an old lawyer, I have seen how treacherous countries are in terms of public international law, it is something to see how they have failed to comply with agreements regarding the protection of civilians in war, call me pessimistic but the masters of humanity are always moved by greed and the desire for greater power. I have always thought that men and women of good will should govern with wisdom and moderation, but they aren't the sharks, and the sharks always end up at the top of the pyramid. -

I don't know if it has happened to other vagabonds that all new age philosophy or metaphysics read or learned is completely far from reality, such as seeing auras, believing in karma, having compassionate behavior and cultivating righteousness, It was not just a bad deal, but rather a childish attitude towards the vicissitudes of existence. Since 2019 I believe that humanity is more vulnerable, more defenseless and in the midst of increasing tests of survival. -

Describe what you think enlightenment is and what you would realize should you have it
Eduardo replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Traditionally, Christian mysticism is a path with three paths or stages: the purgative path, the illuminative path, and the unitive path. 1. The purgative path: The purgative path consists of the purgation of memory, understood as the power of the soul, to cleanse it of the sensitive attachments that come from the body (Detachment and extinction of desire for the objects of the senses, in Buddhist terms) In the words of San Juan de la Cross: You have to lose taste for the appetite of things. The appetite as such does not have to be bad, but the attachment or taste that it provokes in the memory is, because it prevents it from fully orienting itself towards God. Bodily deprivation and prayer are the main purgative means. The state in which memory is added is called hope. 2. The Illuminative Way: The illuminative path consists in the elevation of the understanding towards God, understood as the power of the soul. Once the understanding of all relationships with creatures is cleansed (a deeper form of detachment and isolation) it remains empty to surrender to the dark wisdom or secret wisdom (intuitive or supramental wisdom) that is known without the need to understand, an experience that in reality mysticism is called Faith. 3. The unitive way The unitive path consists in the purification of the will, understood as the power of the soul. In it the soul reaches the most perfect degree of union with God, since it has emptied itself of its own will, the most of its own to deliver it to God (Detachment even from one's own will, Sutra 2.45 yoga sutra of Patanjali Through devotion to Ishvara Samadhi is attained) -
Describe what you think enlightenment is and what you would realize should you have it
Eduardo replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Buddhist Discussion
The abandonment of all worldly things does not necessarily imply the attainment of enlightenment, it is the first stage, much like entering the stream in early Buddhism. When you die you enter the plane of liberated souls, far from birth and death. The question of enjoyment, possibly the enjoyment of absolute liberation, is beyond the understanding of this server. -

Enlightenment in Jainism is reached by abandoning secular life, ascetic life, compliance with strict ethical rules such as ahimsa (strict non-violence), fasting and meditation which has similarities with Samatha. and Vipassana, the wandering life without possessions, in absolute nudity, led to go through great sufferings and tests which freed the monk from karma, the ascetic Mahavira after meditating in a rather uncomfortable standing posture, achieved enlightenment, which includes the omniscience, omnipotence and the complete liberation of the soul which upon death enters the state or plane of the liberated, already free and enjoying in the apex of the universe. -

Eduardo replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Buddhist Discussion
In terms used by Theravada, the enlightenment of the Buddha directly corresponds to the intuitive understanding of the cause of suffering, the chain that leads to birth and death, the reasons for the bad or good fortune of beings according to their good or bad actions, through the awakening of the divine eye and finally the definitive eradication of desire, hatred, and lust. Being the meditation and the access to the jhanas the base to obtain the final understanding of the suffering in the samsara. It is enlightenment in the sense that it corresponds to the clarification of the mysteries of life, and existence through the divine eye, which allows him to remember his previous lives, to know the destiny of the various beings in accordance with the law of Karma. It is exceedingly difficult for the layman to enter the material jhanas, the monks, yogis, ascetics can access the jhanas and other states of samadhi, however, it is exceedingly difficult to achieve the necessary meditative successes to access Enlightenment.
