The path of the mystic is one of the most misunderstood and poorly defined, it is always a call from the divine forces or superior powers that vitalize the universe and that attract the sincere pilgrim of this world. If your call is sincere, you will attract your true Master and then begin the Great Return Journey or genuine Esoteric Initiation, remain faithful to your call, and discard the false teachers and charlatans who appear trying to cloud your path. Powers or psychic experiences should not be sought because it is just another trap that bogs down sincere seekers. The path of the mystic is the path of selfless service and spiritual nobility, thus, an ideal of service is imposed for the benefit of living beings, which often implies forgetting oneself and not a few efforts. Whoever wants to reach spiritual initiation must be so thirsty to know the truth as to make his spiritual path the number one goal of his life, the most important, the essential. It is a waste of time to take this as something secondary, as a matter to which it is enough to dedicate a certain number of hours a week and the rest of the time to not worry about it. Spiritual discipline is something of all times because it is a transformation that takes place in the soul of the individual and therefore becomes something inseparable from his character. With everything that we have said, it is established that the Spiritual Initiation is a new birth of the mystic, it is the regeneration through the awakening of the Consciousness. This regeneration allows him to return to his original state of purity because it puts him in contact with the Universal Spirit, which is the part of God that dwell in him. It is freedom from fate, causality, error, ignorance, lies and pain; it is coming face to face with the truth and coming to identify with the Cosmic Consciousness or God.

Qigong techniques for better, longer, deeper sleep?
Eduardo replied to Alchemistgeorge's topic in Daoist Discussion
Nothing is more beneficial for restful sleep than doing volumes 2 and 7 during the day of the series on DVD, Flying Phoenix Chi Kung system taught by Terry Dunn. I must rectify, in the sitting meditation exercises of the second DVD of master Terry Dunn, the last exercise contained in said DVD should be avoided, which can generate a lot of energy and cause insomnia. In other systems, a lot of "caloric chi" is generated that ends up causing insomnia, since it tends to rise. If that is your case, it is always advisable to lower the chi generated with acupressure at the kidney, spleen and liver points found in the feet. -
You are very right, you came to discover a great truth about the testimonies of healing after it has been proven that they relapse into the same disease, no matter how hard they try to sell miraculous cures in quite notorious cases. I personally see that for a cure to occur in the context of qigong practice, different steps must occur, which I list: 1. Eliminate diseased or pathogenic chi 2. Unblocking of the sectors with weak or obstructed flow of the meridians. 3. Increased chi in meridians with little or poor flow. 4. Increased chi in all meridians. 5. Committed practice for life. 6. Meditative practice for life, especially to become aware of energy blockages and to be able to "see" the state of the organs. If a system could be found that encompasses those steps, it would be spectacular. Jerry Alan Johnson has described something very similar to the stages on the list in his qigong books, especially when he talks about purging methods. However, people do not commit to a practice for life, in addition, they return to bad eating habits, waste of essence and energy and lack of emotional control. I can attest that the SFQ system has worked by reducing small tumors, I say this because of the case of a close relative. But in the case of more serious diseases, the effectiveness is diluted. The big problem with cancer is that it is a very shitty disease and a lot has been written about it, but no cure has been found, nor have the causes been clarified. For the same reason, it generates great despair in those who suffer from it and rightly so. To conclude, I believe that the practice of qigong to cure cancer is insufficient, it should be enhanced with acupuncture, herbal medicine from the East and West, healing with chi emission from a qigong Master and Reiki. In the case of serious cases that do not respond to any treatment, it is necessary to resort to karmic cleansing through mantras and a series of kind acts. I wish all cancer patients could recover and stay healthy.

Why is nothingness/emptiness/lack of ego the desired state?
Eduardo replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Buddhist Discussion
There is a mistake with the concept of emptiness, nothingness, and the lack of the ego. I will refer to Buddhism to try to explain those terms. In Theravāda Buddhism, Suññatā often refers to the non-self, nature, or lack of an unchanging self. It is affirmed that in the human being there is only one flow of consciousness that varies that is not fixed, since it is modified in the states of sleep, dreamless sleep and in wakefulness itself. Nothingness is only a plane that is accessed through meditation (It is a Jhana) but is overcome by the Buddha, since it does not lead to the final peace of nibbana. In Buddhism, the term anattā (Pali) or anātman (Sanskrit) refers to the doctrine of "not-self": that no permanent, unchanging self or essence can be found in any phenomenon. Similarly, Buddhists speak of a stream of consciousness rather than an unchanging self. In Taoism, for its part, the concept of emptiness is used by the influence of Mahayana Buddhism, and indeed in some Taoist traditions, it is said that this reality has never existed, that it is an illusion, a mirage. Some schools of thought (e.g. Dzogchen) consider perceived reality to be unreal. The dream of the yellow millet is related to the dream that the immortal Lü Dongbin had to suffer in which he rises in political position and then falls precipitously, exemplifying the emptiness of the world of men. Nothingness is also a concept used in Taoism and can be found as one of the stages that the meditator encounters. Regarding the lack of ego or self, in Taoism immortality is sought for the same reason the lack of a self is the property of Buddhist currents. -

In honor of Christmas some Jesus esoteric sayings
Eduardo replied to Klinsly's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Sincerely and with profound respect I must write that a first century rabbi and carpenter spoke of "self-realization", "etheric double" "substance-energy", "visualization", knowing that Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and Latin had a lexicon extremely limited, and such more modern words have had a traceable origin in the early books of the old occultists, orientalists of the 19th and 20th centuries. It leaves me much to be desired. -
The universe cannot be understood using our moral or religious beliefs. You will always get hurt following that path. Only mathematics can help us understand reality.

Is it possible to not fear death, and yet not want to die?
Eduardo replied to Shadao's topic in General Discussion
According to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra 2.9, the fear of death pervades all aspects of human consciousness. Nobody wants to die, even the wisest keep in their hearts the attachment to life. It is instinctive, normal and natural. People tend to avoid talking about the subject, even some groups of Taoists were prohibited talking about death at night. Words often evoke, call, attract. -
1. The first thing is to stop doing that exercise. 2. The second is a complete medical check-up. I think that contracting the stomach strongly may be blocking meridians in that sector of the belly, so do not continue with your practice on your own. A similar case tells Master Wong Kiew Kit in his book "Chi-kung for health and vitality" Exercises practiced without the supervision of a qigong master are extremely dangerous.

In case of a sudden rise in blood pressure that can generate different health problems, I have always recommended to massage (or puncture in case you are an acupuncturist licensed to practice) the heart 3 point (Shaohai) the sea of qi of that meridian, located at the end of the fold of the arm near the elbow, together with the stomach point 9 (Renying) located in the throat area. The effects are amazing.

Huan-ching (Chin., ‘allowing semen to return’). The control of semen, especially the prevention of ejaculation, as a redistribution of power of chi in the body, a prelude to meditation and sexual arts in Taoism. Also used in Tantric Buddhism and in yogic shaivist sects.

Buddha "Don't worship anything". Buddhists "With folded hands I turn to you". Me "Huh?".
Eduardo replied to Seeking's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Dhammapada Chapter 8: Thousands 107. "Although for a century a man performed the rite of fire in the forest, if he for a single moment he honored an enlightened one, this reverence is better than the sacrifice of fire for a century" Other translations 107. "Though for a hundred years one should tend the sacrificial fire in the forest, yet if only for a moment one should worship those of perfected minds, that worship is indeed better than a century of sacrifice" The meaning of the verb to adore or it is only to revere, the Buddha will have used a literary figure destined to extol the teachings of the dharma and its exponents, the enlightened ones, or it must be understood literally. I am not the one to solve that question. In the mind of the Westerner (perhaps cellular memory) the teaching "You will not have other gods in front of me" is always installed, and the Enlightened One is clearly not the Judeo-Christian God and any change to another religion or set of beliefs will trigger strong internals resistances. -

A trick to sleep very deeply, already in bed put a hand in the area of the stomach (Ren 15 to Ren 12 acupuncture points is the area of the solar plexus) The chi of the hand will induce a deeper sleep as it calms the nervous system.
