Hello my chi friends here I'm, back at it with another controversy The question today is: HOW DOES WATER TEMPERATURE AFFECT OUR Qi? Does HOT or COLD showers drains our Qi? I've already seen EVERYTHING: - People saying that HOT showers drains your Qi and you should take only COLD showers. - People saying that COLD is the villain and you should only take HOT showers. -*I've also seen a master claiming that you shouldn't shower at all because the water(he didn't mention the temperature in this case, he only said "water") takes away the Qi from your body. *I think this is impractical for everyone living in the "normal world" but maybe it does make sense for him living isolated in the mountains, that's why I'm asking about water temperature because I'm not ready to leave my shower behind, but if anyone knows about "water taking your Qi away" it would be a nice contribution to the topic I decided to post this to bring this discussion to see if we can find a point where we all agree to what is the best for everyone's health

Oh I also had a problem with the PDF but then I took a look above and thelerner posted the PDF in the comments

I do the same, very few showers, maximum 2 every week and my skin is great. Unfortunately summer here is too hot and I need to take more showers, but in winter it's not a problem. Yea I heard about this chlorine thing but I think you should be fine, I grew up takin 20-30min hot(very hot) showers locked in the bathroom, a lot of steam inside and I never had a problem (not that I know haha), so I think you should be fine with this, maybe it's not that much of a problem. I say this because I used to do this all the time and never had a problem but maybe that's just me, maybe it can be really dangerous, I'm just sharing my thoughts. I don't want to encourage anyone to take a 40min hot shower and get poisoned lol Also, it can differ chlorine amount in water in different countries so yea maybe they use less chlorine here I don't know, just food for tought. Hot or warm water all the way haha I only drink cold water when it's summer and I really feel the need to drink something cold, besides that I will drink warm water even in summer. IMO stimulants are bad so I avoid all of them, I think I read this somewhere in a meditation book but I can't remember the name, but it said that all stimulants are bad, I think it's something related to TCM.(Please someone correct me if I'm wrong) BUT I OFTEN see people taking their coffee and practicing qigong, coffee is the only legalized drug haha (at least where I live it is) so I really don't know.

That's what I call a Taoist downvote

Yea but it's not because our ancestors did it that it was the right thing to do. A lot of things evolved and if we can take advantage of these new technologies for our benefit, I absolutely think we should. They just did it because they had no "hot water" option. And they were depleting their bodies by doing so. Coincidentaly there's a Wim Hof thread going on at the time we are talking about cold showers here, check it out: I posted some links there, I still advice you to stay away from cold showers unless you know what your doing.

Personal Practice Discussion Thread Request
Lukks replied to Henchman21's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Oh I like this idea too, can I also have a PPD? -
Yes I also feel very good after a cold shower and normal after a hot shower. After a LONG hot shower I feel sleepy haha I'm still thinking that warm water is the best But we are supposed to feel good after a cold shower, science explains this but I don't know what happens in a energetic level. I honestly don't like Wim Hof method, it caused trouble to too many people, like ringings in the ears and back pain, signs of yin deficiency, so that's why I'm careful with the cold shower thing, I know it makes us feel good but energetically I think there's something else going on.

This is actually good advice, so the time one spends in qigong also affects such things, please correct me if my understanding is wrong, but I think we can put it this way: *I will use the term ENERGY for Jing and Qi* - If one does Qigong for 1 hour he will be clearing more energy blockages, but he will also be consuming more energy. - If one does Qigong for 15 minutes, he will be clearing less energy blockages, but he will be conserving more energy. So, hypothetically, if two people with the same levels of energy do the practices above, one for 1 hour and the other for 15 minutes, at the end of the session, the guy who did 1 hour of Qigong will have less "energy" than the guy who did 15 minutes? If this is correct this brings a new understanding of Qigong to me, I tought it was the only thing that was always building energy and not consuming it.

So I did some attempts to practice outdoors on the grass and I felt more eletrical sensations than when I practice indoors in my apartment in the 2nd floor, has any of tou felt this too or is it just a placebo effect? I think it makes sense because of the yin chi from the earth but I'm still full ignorant on these subjects I would like to hear it from you! Thanks in advance!

Why bother with morality and ethics?

hahaha then I guess the answer is in the middle... Warm water then
-
I will be honest, I'm still learning, I have more questions than answers so I'm not the best person to answer you hahaha I'm sure there are others here who can help you

yep that's what I meant, most of the threads here have good knowledge inside them but if you look only at the title it won't catch your attention BUT I wasn't criticizing the title of your post lol, I just want to make this clear In example, these last few days I was rereading a post I made about Zhan Zhuang, if you look at my title you would think that it was only about Zhan Zhuang, but if you look inside you would know that it was more than that, actually that post is iconic because we had: Talks about grounding, yin chi and yang chi, then I probably had a chi deviation and asked for help, and while I was thinking I was gonna die some dudes turned that post into a mopai discussion, then when it come back to the topic I was feeling better but then we had another discussion about spontaneous movements and chinese without translation hahahah good old times(2 years ago)
-
Thanks for the clarification, now I understand ChiDragon's laugh emoji at my post hahaha Thanks that was the kind of information I was trying to find You have been saying this to me for over a year now haha, I really need to find a teacher, at the moment I can't but I definitely will.
-
No I didn't haha BUT I was doing ZZ followed by moving Qigong, I felt the increased eletrical sensations since the start of my Zhan Zhuang practice, it's definitely more noticeable outdoors. I was rereading another post I made here about Zhan Zhuang and it kinda went to this topic of yin qi, @freeform and @Shadow_self said some very interesting stuff about how one should always have a insulating layer like wool or fleece between the skin and the floor, otherwise if you keep direct contact with the grass the Yang Qi you generated will just go away.

So in other words this level of development is the same as high level cairvoyance or am I mixing things? I know a clairvoyant guy who can do distant healing, no, it's not Chunyi Lin and it's from vajrayana buddhism but both seem to agree in the clairvoyance thing, it's also said that when you develop your clairvoyance you can do distant healing. I also read about this in a book so the informations match I'll try to find more info on xing and ming cultivation I think there's a thread about it somewhere haha thanks for the knowledge

the name of this thread is wrong, so much valuable information here I tought people were still talking about the time travel thing, glad I came to take a look again

Free energy transmission and UDT meditation
Lukks replied to Chang dao ling's topic in Hindu Discussion
Online, you just need to learn the movements from the videos and then you practice on your own. By LDT meditation what I understand is a practice where you sit comfortably and focus on your LDT, if that's what your referring to, the answer is no, as far as I know there's no LDT meditation in SFQ. You focus on your LDT at the end of each session to bring the energy there, but that's all. -
Oh I get it, thanks a lot!!!
-
By this your also referring to the benefits of yang chi from the sun and yin qi from the earth or your just referring to the refreshing and calming effects of outdoors practice?
-
Okay now I have more questions Can you elaborate more on "why yin chi is bad"? It's Pros and Cons. I would like to hear more on this subject if possible And what if someone practices indoors? He is not absorbing yang chi nor yin chi? So this person is just clearing some energy blockages and that's all? So is it correct to say that indoors qigong has less benefit than doing it outside on the sun? And practicing outside but at night also have less benefits, because if there's no sun then there's no yang qi.

Free energy transmission and UDT meditation
Lukks replied to Chang dao ling's topic in Hindu Discussion
Level 1 is all you need for healing yourself in SFQ. I have level 2, the movements will also help to clear energy blockages but it's more focused on healing others, I did it a few times but I'm mainly on level 1. If I would start on SFQ today I would buy the 5 elements qigong, I heard people saying that it's an improved version of level 1. Yes, ZZ from "The Way of Energy" book by Lam. -
Free energy transmission and UDT meditation
Lukks replied to Chang dao ling's topic in Hindu Discussion
No, At moment I'm only doing SFQ, ZZ and Xuan Daoji's meditation😁 But I saved them for the future. I read the websites, everything, they seem very interesting and legit practices. Edit: I don't know why the words are changing in size, maybe because I'm on my phone haha
