nCov19 Development and Prevention Discussion Only

My family has lived in north Borneo since my grandparents moved there from Fujian. There has also been intermarriage with some indigenous which allows some of my cousins to claim bumi putera status. It’s a gorgeous place, for sure. I didn’t get to visit Danum Valley but we did some hiking on Mt Kinabalu and it’s quite breathtaking. I did visit the Batu Caves. The caves themselves are amazing, and the ornery monkeys are fun to watch. The bats are amazing. I thought the temples detracted a bit, though- the statues had a garish theme park quality to them that IMO was not worthy of the majestic surroundings. Not the best of Hindu architecture. -

So far I've only been twice, the last time four years ago. I do hope to go back. The family was actually planning a wedding this year but of course the schedule is up in the air at this point. -

What would be another practical way to do that? -

Whereabouts? (I have people there) -
Fading in the wind, the forlorn cry of a hawk atop the bare birch.

You can do searches about Falun Gong on the forum, there have been a few threads about the practice and the organization. It seems to me that there are other qigong practices that are equally accessible without all the baggage.

Worshiping the enshrined deities and getting their blessing (whether as an individual visitor or attending a liturgy of some sort); getting your fortune told; getting talismans for particular needs; commissioning the priest to do some special service for you or your family; getting instruction of some sort if it’s being offered.

I’m just looking out for @GSmaster‘s best interests. @Starjumper was talking a lot of shit about him when he wasn’t around!
-
You hear that? He just watches it to mess with the feds! Just like grandpa said he only read it for the articles!
-
How dare you call the formidable @GSmaster a slave and a fool?!?!

Oh dang, so now the vaccines will be making everyone autistic and then the 5G will be putting out signals to activate all the newly minted autists as super-soldiers for the annunaki invasion.

Angry little man. I'm guessing Belgian or Dutch. It says "per day," not "today," laddie. There's still time to learn the magic of reading.

Yes, as of March 19 it was around 10,000 so there has been a huge jump.

As of March 30th the figure of total deaths worldwide is ~37000; however, taking into account the spread of the virus and the exponential growth of cases/ deaths, 3,233 might work out to being a reasonable extrapolation once the virus peaks worldwide. I don't know, I am not a math man meself.

Bezos is a ghoul. I have heard of Amazon workers going on strike too. Power to the workers. -
Daoism isn't one thing but a convergence of different currents- shamanism, yin-yang five phase philosophy, the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi, and the methods of the fangshi including various magical and alchemical practices. We could argue back and forth about it but, for the sake of having meaningful classification of ideas, I would argue that none of these by themselves are quite Daoist. They became part of Daoism when they converged in different ways in Han dynasty movements like the Celestial Masters, Shang Qing, and Ling Biao. Qigong and martial arts aren't particularly Daoist. That is, there are Daoist forms of them, and their underlying theory/cosmology is mostly or wholly compatible with some form of Daoist cosmology, but just practicing qigong is not inherently Daoist. You could practice some form of qigong regardless of your religious or philosophical outlook.

Yeah it's tempting to go "fuck it, let the idiots get themselves infected" but then, even from a selfish perspective, that's no good because they're the ones most likely to infect other people. -

There are a lot of potentially beneficial substances out there that become poisons if you don't know what you're doing. There are some manifestly stupid decisions by individuals that not even Trump can be blamed for. -

The stuff in the pet shops is not the stuff they're talking about. Or rather, it's the stuff but the right dosage is crucial. It is possible that chloroquine is useful for treating the virus but poisoning yourself with aquarium supplies is a whole other thing. -
Ooh, I found the whole thing on YouTube

A really hilarious parody of Chinese WWII propaganda films combined with Japan's Ring movies: It’s in four parts, unfortunately the beginning doesn’t seem to be online anymore

Congratulations, you’ve spent the past 10 hours angrily responding to people on your ignore list
