This is a Daoist prayer for meals that someone told me about: 食齋咒 五星之炁 六甲之精 三真天倉 清雲常盈 黃父赤子 守中無傾 INVOCATION WHEN EATING May the vapors of the Five Stars, Essences of the Six Jia-spirits, And celestial granaries of Three Perfected Remain pure and prosperous, with continual surplus. May the Yellow Father and Crimson Child Guard the Center so that it is without disturbance. This post was sponsored by @GSmaster -
Ooh, I just got into these guys a few months ago, fantastic group. Good for studying and sleep, or calming my nerves in the car (not that I’m doing much driving nowadays). They kind of remind me of Shpongle except without all the goofiness and silly samples. Or maybe they’re not like Shpongle at all. Big thanks to @GSmasterfor putting them on the mixtape he sent me.

How do you live in the Andes for years without having heard of Tupac Amaru?
-
Speaking of heading for the hills, I heard Tupac was living in Serbia, where he runs a pig farm. Radovan Karadzic is hiding out with him. It was on the internet, look it up, it's real.

If that's true, then where does the energy of your posts go? Because you're certainly not making meaningful dialogue (exchange of energies and human connections.) -

They're basically calling for a cull of the elderly. They don't use those exact words but that is plainly what it is. A mass human sacrifice to the golden bull of Wall Street. It's like Logan's Run but without any of the cool gadgets or sex parties. -

Prince Chucky just came down with it and went into self-quarantine, maybe pay the lonely codger a visit to show you’re not afraid. -

It's because we haven't prayed and fasted enough. We must endure the plague of chuds until he deems us worthy. -
Like I said in the OP, I'm aware of this. I don't diminish this reality of a wide range of divine female images in Tibetan Buddhism. Two reasons why this doesn't disperse my concerns about misogyny: 1. Like the Mahayana does not represent an abrogation of Hinayana, even less does Vajrayana abrogate Mahayana, and the teaching that the proper form of a Buddha includes maleness, and that a female birth is unfortunate, is still in the DNA of Vajrayana- there is a subtle but important difference between saying "women can be Buddhas" and "even women can be Buddhas". 2. Tibetan Buddhism, institutionally, does not elevate women very well, as can be seen in the rarity of women lineage holders, the lack of full bhiksuni ordinations, and the frequently exploitative character of the karma mudra practice. Granted, similar accusations can be leveled at pretty much any religious institution, even ostensibly egalitarian ones, but I think there is a doctrinal underpinning that is not easily laid aside here. A lot of this is examined in detail by June Campbell, who was famously abused by the Kagyu tulku Kalu Rinpoche.

Good heavens, I was trying to find solutions to misogyny in Buddhism, not justifications for it.

My wife got me the Cthulhu version too though I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. A two player game I really love is The Awful Green Things from Outer Space. One player is the awful green things, and the other is the crew of a spaceship desperately trying to get rid of the awful green things. There are various weapons (eg baseball bat, fire extinguisher, blowtorch) scattered around the board and their effects are randomized each game, and you only find out what they are by trying them. Some of them kill the awful green things but others make them grow or multiply which can lead to some hilariously bad situations. -

While burning stick incense or incense cones is undoubtedly easier I prefer resin incense for sure. The resin incense I like the most is the kind made in the Mount Athos style, generally used in Orthodox churches- basically frankincense is ground up and mixed with various essential oils; the mixture is then made into little pellets coated in clay dust for easy measuring. There are lots of different, wonderful "flavors"- I especially like the floral ones, such as rose or honeysuckle.

Here's a fantastic storytelling game, Once Upon a Time, ideal for three or more players. Everyone is collaboratively telling a story, while trying to steer the story to use up their cards and come to the ending they've been dealt. The cards give just enough guidance while leaving things very open-ended. Even people who don't think of themselves as terribly creative end up making amazing, hilarious stories with this game. -

Giving a shit about other people only equals heroism in libertarian shitlordland. When the God Emperor Sean returns in glory, on a chariot pulled by qilin and escorted by legions of angels, nagas, and pikachu, he shall cast thee into the pit of burning scrotums for incalculable kalpas. Maranatha. -

I am well prepared. But “I’ve got mine, fuck everyone else” is the attitude of a stunted caricature of a human being. -

You see, the hand sanitizer thing only really works if everyone has some. Stockpiling it is dumb. The fact is the US had ample warning from China, South Korea, Japan, Italy about what was coming and how to prepare. Instead the government decided to dick around and spread misinformation. Shithole country. -

Living paycheck to paycheck is a feature, not bug, of a system designed to keep many people desperate and easily exploited. And it’s funny how many “unskilled” workers are being recognized as “essential” now. -

Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! games are for a limited time available free on the App Store (and the Android store too I think). These are adaptations of the 1980’s game books, with all the wonderful original drawings. It is similar to books like Choose Your Own Adventure or Lone Wolf except a lot deeper in terms of choices and plot development. Four games in total, get them all and give em a try! https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sorcery/id627879091 -
Some dude from the Brookings Institution, seems legit! Hua Chunying had a perfect Li Bai quote for this sort of nonsense: 两岸猿声啼不住,轻舟已过万重山
