had a flashback of eating chow at an air force training base in Texas with Iranian soldiers back in the early 70's, my how things have changed.

a black hole of evil hunger knows no bounds or geo-political reasoning's, this can be verified in a way when one has seen their own potential for or recovered from states of evils grip, it is then that they also know in principle of the possible macro-evil that can be. (granted such evils can only reach so far and can be overcome personally and also on a worldwide scale but if it is not then the set-back and suffering for the Earth realm and for much of mankind would apparently be in millions or even billions of years...)

a real wwlll would probably result in 99.99 % of all human life destroyed along with a tremendous amount of destruction for most all other lifeforms. no more internet folks....

know one can say a date for sure, it is also said that for anything to happen in the physical it must first happen in the astral... note, the earth is wounded but her song is not broken and will prevail in the end.

Do we have to remain aware of our True Nature all the time?
old3bob replied to dwai's topic in Hindu Discussion
thanks that is a very important saying! "But consider the Tao, which transcends both finite and infinite. Since the Tao is All and nothing lies outside it, since its multiplicity and unity are identical, when a finite being sheds the illusion of separate existence, he is not lost in the Tao like a dew-drop merging with the sea; by casting off his imaginary limitations, he becomes immeasurable. No longer bound by the worldly categories, 'part' and 'whole', he discoveres that he is coextensive with the Tao. Plunge the finite into the infinite and, though only one remains, the finite, far from being diminished, takes on the stature of infinity." -
3bob checking back in as old3bob if that is ok?

Umm, pondering along these lines is hard enough for me without trying to mix parts of Buddhism and Hinduism together, and I say more so for those without an anchor in either one? Anyway we could also throw in Solomon's saying that is along the lines of, "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity"...although that was not his final summation in Ecclesiastes was it? Is not the one true desire mostly overshadowed or mistaken by chasing various desires that can never really satisfy, never really give one both the rest, freedom and joy "that springs forth" which is directly alluded to in the Upanishads? (and whatever level and period of renunciation helps in that attainment) How does one cultivate a dispassion which is further fulfilled through the reception and emission of unconditional compassion, with such being a major key to unlocking the prison of doubt and one's gnawing upon themselves (or others) in repetitive "vain" ? Well there are many paths and yoga's that help prepare for unconditional compassion, aka unconditional love and Grace although same can not be gained intellectually, nor bought or sold, nor somehow acquired by the studying of countless volumes of books which may point to it. Spirit is unto Spirit, and when the mind's attempted control is exhausted and the soul calls or reaches out then Spirit can not - not answer that call !! As for the various bodies of man, including the physical which is also needed, all their forms of prana's are gathered together to make that Decisive call and leap of faith to the ever present Sat/Self

(i'd submit that) there really is no separate "unreal" or "illusion" as we often hear of in non-duality circles....thus the only -thing- that can be unreal so to speak is an unreal or incomplete perception and or being-ness concerning non-duality which includes duality, (or so called and misunderstood maya)

we can not do anything to change the unchangeable, or destroy the indestructible....btw, who is ready to surrender their identity as a particular mind and soul to come to really know that? maybe one in a billion of us but who can really say until they have crossed that bridge, and.getting to implied bridge and then stepping into the unknown is something that we can do with help -

besides the saying of "standing still" (at absolute speed that is beyond speed) , we also have the saying of "going far and returning" along with the "first and the last" having a relationship to that -

we can get to areas of the mind per time and place but never to the Self in the same sense being it is not of mind. -
we shall reap what we sow, no getting around that law...so lets do whatever we can in very small, medium and even big ways that all add up to help the myriad lives upon the earth and reduce the many forms of suffering here, the Earth soul, her helpers and keepers and karma will not be denied along the way and in the end - when the black soul of hungry malice and his minions can no longer step foot here. (so to speak) I've just barely touched on the importance of the related causal spiritual/astral war that is affecting life on earth.... and I'd say it is coming to a head, regardless of human opinions, beliefs or non-beliefs about same.

Well it is the Hindu sub-forum but - I'd say that there is some correlation with what Dawi brought up and the Zen type saying of, "first there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is..." As for the Two in Taoism it was given birth by The One. -

it's all explained in the first chapter of the T.T.C. (as in "Mystery" does not deny the mysteries) -

Hello, I got booted a fair while back for political comments and I'am now trying to come back to the forum, using either the old handle or the present one would be ok with me...
