  1. fairly safe for awhile?

that movie looks very wild! So do you know if the BMW lends itself to running on various qualities of fuel? I know there are military trucks that can run a wide range of fuels....which like you say will be in short supply if things get unsafe. Lots of the higher tech vehicles are very picky on what they can run on; speaking of that ethanol sure is hard on vintage vehicles. I have seen it eat through old school rubber fuel lines, fuel pumps, mess up carbs and fuel tanks. (among some other problems) And there are also the modern oils that don't lend themselves well when used in vintage motors which need old school additives to keep from wiping out cams and liters! I like the Talented Tina Turner in Thunderdome, here is a step back in time:

Thanks for the reply, pictures, humor and info! Those BSA thumpers never die, cool! (and someone came up with a good left side guard)
  3. Christianity

It was a very long time ago so I don't remember a whole lot but I think he made an impression on everyone, being robed and kind of mystical like. He talked generally about Egypt, his Coptic order and parts of his life. He gave a pretty incredible demonstration of piercing his chest area with long ice pick like spikes without showing pain or bleeding. He also walked among the audience with a kindly, greeting like way and gave many folks a light touch around their 3rd eye.

When we visited India, (Mumbai, Pune, Goa and a couple of other areas or parts of them) there were motorcycles everywhere !! Mostly 125cc-175cc although a few folks had monster Harley's in comparison. It was kind of surprising to see a guy going along at 30+ mph with his wife dressed in a sari riding on the back seat in a side-saddle position while holding onto a kid or two, and maybe a bunch of groceries. The motorized rickshaws were also everywhere and boy oh boy those drivers were hell on wheels; you would think there would be an accident on every street corner but most of them drove with a split second sense of timing in heavy traffic along with a sort of flowing madness thus and somehow almost never crashed! (btw there were very few stop lights and sometimes Brahma bulls or cows moving along on the same streets) I'd say that many of the homeless people there would make many U.S. homeless look bad in that they would do almost any kind of work, at any time, anywhere, for any wage or trade they could make to survive poverty and starving to death! (granted many U.S. homeless people are in similar situations but there are millions times "x" numbers in India with little or no types of gov. help, and not the hundreds of thousand's like we hear of or see in parts of the U.S.)

wow, those bikes are pretty close to each other!

Elder brother Jesus never wanted to be put on a pedestal ! Alas, that happened anyway in so many ways that much of his teachings ended up on the back burners or were twisted about for this or that vested or special interest group... knowledge is a useful tool but I'd say "God" cares far more about (x1000) by looking to see what is our hearts.

then again all we really have is the moment (that unfolds to the next moment) and while we should learn from the past which can make for a better future yet again all there really is, is now which should not be lost in too much pondering on the past or potential future...

Cool, neato and or bitchen as old timers used to say; that picture reminds me of of the BSA single cly. 500cc thumper, that is if I remember correctly. My past brother in law almost turned in his chips when crashing one. Lucky for him his helmet took almost all the damage, as in fractured and split open. Around this region there are several fun mountain man rendezvous, guys and gals recreating the 1830's mountain man era for the weekend (camping in beautiful tipis) with trader and artists booths thus lots of trading, buying, bragging and tall tales going on; along with black powder rifle and pistol shoots, hatchet throwing contests, chili cook-offs, visits from American Indian dancers all decked out in their finery and more. went and found a clip of that BSA:

Only the great Tao can answer that, many may choose but that does not mean we or the many are chosen...also the idea that one can't take their earthly belongings with them when passing from the earth realm is similar to (but on a different level) being that you can't take your mental knowledge with you when going "beyond the beyond".

um, that context doesn't line up all that well to me per my submission, but no biggy. btw, I'd say such accidents don't happen although that phrase is cute like.

ok some improvements in medicine and other areas have been made, but not enough imo from what is being seen and reported to keep up with the drastic imbalances and degradation in climates and ecosystems. (with hundreds of destructive tornados, powerful hurricanes, much of California, Canada, the Amazon, and other areas burning fiercely, the incredible amount of pollution in seas and oceans, dirty drinking water, poor air quality, 115+ degree heat waves, the north and south poles ice melting , etc. !) And add to that all the violence and potential violence in the world.... granted its 5:00 o'clock and Margaritaville somewhere but not in a great many parts of the US and in many parts of the world! Granted there is a pure heaven or state of being somewhere for some folks but not in many situations for many people in this world of various forms of horrific suffering for mankind and so many of earths other creatures! (as in going extinct although some have recovered but not anywhere near as many that are in trouble!)

fortunately the dc didn't freeze a connection on me. I also once operated (breakers, generators and busses) of lots other high voltage equipment ranging through 440, 1k, 4.160k, 13.8k and 34.5k in industry. (that use 3 phase power)

Btw. 220 with very little amperage flow can easily kill someone, same with 115 to a lesser extent !? I got across 300 vdc once and it could have easily killed me, it felt like i image a javelin going all the way threw my chest would feel !! Oh, and don't get downfield when track and field folks are throwing javelins.

another use of breath control: but you better know what you are doing!! (underwater or on a mat) If I heard correctly in the narration this diver was down 100 meters which is well over 300 feet!! Heck if one goes only goes down 10-15 feet you can feel the pressure building...

  20. The feel of a place/space

the City of Refuge on the Big Island of Hawaii has very strong feelings to it for me; its like you can almost see ancient Hawaiian's walking around there in peace and living their lives. It is called the City of Refuge because during the bloody inter island wars that went on for a long time it was agreed upon that anyone that made it there and stayed within its boundaries had sanctuary/safety from outside conflicts and battles. "Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park is a United States National Historical Park located on the west coast of the island of Hawaiʻi in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The historical park preserves the site where, up until the early 19th century, Hawaiians who broke a kapu (one of the ancient laws) could avoid certain death by fleeing to this place of refuge or puʻuhonua. The offender would be absolved by a priest and freed to leave. Defeated warriors and non-combatants could also find refuge here during times of battle. The grounds just outside the Great Wall that encloses the puʻuhonua were home to several generations of powerful chiefs. Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau is one of the only four places in Hawaii where the flag of Hawaii can officially fly alone without the American flag; the other three places are ʻIolani Palace, the Mauna ʻAla and Thomas Square.[3][4]"

Spiritual should mean and or include Spirit, and when it bites you in the ass you know it, thus there is no dilly-dallying around about it with speculative ponderings or driving nails into it.

um, does that mean you also "don't know", even though often quoting conclusive sounding quote's? Btw traditional Buddhist wording from a thousand+ years ago is sometimes not all that clear too many of us. Although I'd say that some Zen teachings like some parts of Taoism are clearer to me.

Hey Mark, so how does this differ from "not having a view", or an "I don't know"? getting hung up on rote negation or rote affirmation seems to be the problem to me. also there is no law against the appreciation for life with the historic Buddha saying something about many things of the Earth as being medicines....and with him honoring the Earth Soul/Goddess for her witness.

There is no 1st or last cessation of Spirit, things come an go but not No-Thing, I'd say take heart where heart is due.
  25. Detailed Experiential Overview of Advaita

Hello, I think that you laid out those steps pretty well, but again I'd say there can be incomplete or incorrect perception, thus such would be an unreal/untrue conclusion, for in nonduality (which is big enough for duality and evolution per some schools besides what only A.V. may be interpreted as or taught as) where or what is a realunreal? Btw we could also rhetorically ask where does a realunreal begin and end? Also how can one accept that there is a complete disconnect from all iteration's/permutations starting from the Source of all... and that then is a realunreal to them? Anyway connections instead of disconnections are simply stated in the T.T.C. with: "Tao Gave birth to the One" thus starting everything and going on to the "Ten thousand", similarly in many schools of Hinduism there are the various levels of Tattvas and their Source stated as: "Last is Absolute which does not come in the cycle of tattvas, is called Parama Śiva. Parama Śiva is not only found in Śiva tattva or in Śakti tattva. It is not only here, It is not only there, everywhere It is present -from the lowest tattva to the highest tattva. It is in and through all levels and is everywhere"''.
