  1. Evolution of Christianity

Just a passing fact and not sure if it falls under an "evolution": Jesus did not fully pass on his position in lineage (although he passed a lot on to Peter and many others!) since he is and always will be number one in Christianity. Whereas In many sects of Hinduism a fully Self realized/actualized Sat guru normally does fully pass on his and the lineage to the next chosen and qualified Satguru who then becomes the new number one for that sect for his lifetime, (some such lineages do not always continue on Earth but are said to remain on other planes) thus with that being a big difference between them. Btw Hinduism does not have a human founder as most all other ways do. It's Sanskrit name is Sanatana Dharma, or the Eternal Law, also way, or religion.
  2. Evolution of Christianity

problem is that an academic or looking from the outside- in definition or second hand accounts have serious limits as compared to a full experience of Shamanism (which I know next to nothing about) that has been going on since the beginning of mankind in various forms that non-Shamans are not really qualified to speak on, including many of our new-age like wanna be Shamans who may mean well but then again buyer beware.... similar scenarios are rampant throughout all the hopeful stuff being put out there!
  3. Evolution of Christianity

Mr. G. of the 4th way said that communion is not just figurative as in most Christian church's today but was and may still be based on an actual Shamanistic rite used to maintain astral or subtle body connections with their master after the master passed.
  4. Evolution of Christianity

Along the lines of early there is something about the order of Essenes related to Christianity that i read about 30 years ago, I'd have to dig out the text or book if I still have it? along the lines of reincarnation there are versus in the Bible that allude such, for instance when some people asked Jesus if he was Elijah come again, that is if my old tucked away memory is still good...
  5. "Behold I make all things new"

I'd add that the higher forces I've been allowed to cross paths with see far more than just karma...and can instantly reach across and through time, space, mind and karmas to give us a break and help us see things in greater and insightful light that fosters a turn around of greater possibilities that are beyond just the "eye for an eye" laws! On that note Happy New year!
  6. Thanks be to the great soul of Jesus who has been co-opted 100,000 times and ways by worldly forces...
  7. "Behold I make all things new"

lots of making things new is needed after ages of mankind's almost perpetual tendency for self-destruction, which often includes everyone and everything around him. Looks like the karmic number is about up for a lot of us this time around being that "no man is an island"; some will survive all the crap going down on planet earth, for the rest of us its back to karmic drawing board which may not take too long or may take millions of years?
  8. But the historic Buddha was not individualistic when it came to being physically self-reliant since in the time and place where he lived (and in cultures which still exist in many eastern countries today) begging for food and having support from householders for certain things was common and more or less built into their societies thus many monks and temples would not have lasted long without that factor of the give and take actions or karmas related to same!
  9. Ask an acupuncturist

To begin with Maddie, best wishes for your practice. I don't have a question but an observation/experience with a "licensed person" who thought he was qualified for acupuncture. Case in point he was also an (MD) anesthesiologist who in my opinion wanted to get in on easy insurance money after some companies approved funding for certain amounts acupuncture. (that is if an MD did it) So he took some 8 week courses or however long they were, and then hung acupuncture drawings on his office wall and imo proceeded to experiment on people who came to him. I was a client for one session wherein he continued to hurt me even after I told him of things were hurting, but he acted like a know it all and said don't worry!! (which is pure BS because in the past I had been through several sessions with a 4 year TCM trained acupuncture lady with decades of experience who never hurt me) Anyway I wrote a complaint to him which he basically ignored or whitewashed and that was the end of it for me. I imagine there are far worse horror stories out there where things went bad for people?
  10. "Behold I make all things new"

that reminds of a Rod Stewart song...(singing about someone else)
  11. Let's Talk About Enlightenment(s)

Depends on the school one is in...for instance and with very short comments: in Taoism there are different levels of immortals, in Buddhism their texts mention 8 liberations and a "beyond" those, in Hinduism there are the four main branches which are not the same and then there a great many sub-branches of those that are not the same, in Christianity there is mainly salvation to a heavenly realm with Jesus, I won't get into dozens of others...anyway one can spend decades making comparisons and correlations. btw, i'd say even light disappears
  12. How empty is no emptiness meditation?

Free mind is not conditioned or stuck, thus free from folly yet full of meaning ...
  13. "Behold I make all things new"

could be marks of wisdom and determination...
  14. How empty is no emptiness meditation?

no one has mentioned or used the term super conscious mind or mind in its most pure and powerful state, which is a very major and important aspect! (and is far beyond the conscious mind, thoughts, the sub conscious, trance, and unconscious coma like states; or the Buddhist folks just use other or what to me are more potentially confounding terms like empty!)
  15. The concept of God

Be careful what you ask for, since you might get it, and if you get it then you are responsible for it, also your karma will bite much harder then if you screw it up.
  16. How empty is no emptiness meditation?

Holy Cow and Jesus Christ, I suggest not so much over thinking...dudes or whatever term you prefer...
  17. How empty is no emptiness meditation?

well then you could change your handle to Teacher Stirling Maybe somebody knows?
  18. The concept of God

well some place for some folks to start could lead to who knows where? I read a fair amount of Edgar Cayce long ago but never really took to him being an unconscious medium...
  19. How empty is no emptiness meditation?

umm, you have already let all know you are a this and or that teacher several times , so I'd say there is no need to keep tooting your horn along that line.
  20. The concept of God

what they all don't have in common is a very great deal ! New Age stuff does not cut it even if it means well.
  21. The concept of God

suggest the Chandogya Upanishad fyi. (one has to take into account all the Vedic related context yet its pointers are really on if one reads the whole text)
  22. Siddhi - The mundane is the same as the mystical

who wants to be a lab rat...
  23. The concept of God

Btw, if we except that Om is real and not just a concept then in way Buddhists (led by their gurus, lamas, scripture, etc.) are chanting to "God" all the time with their major mantras! Thus it can be said that Om or Aum is not just the idea of "old man in the sky lording it over on everything" but as a fundamental, undeniable force, including the silence of Om before its all pervading roar which can be followed either way - back to or out from said Silence.
  24. The concept of God

thought that "God" exists or does not exist is still just a thought, and yes thoughts can and do vary wildly. When reason recognizes its definite limits based on thoughts then "God" as mystery beyond thought may open up and come into play.
  25. The concept of God

I'm somewhat surprised you posted a like on my last post Striling since some Buddhists are very big on denial of "God"....and also seemingly contradictory in general because many Buddhists do recognize their temple and or local Devas but not "God" or MahaDeva... "it's a strange, strange world Master Jack"
