  1. not really so among most Bible using and proclaiming "Christians"...
  2. Id' say it sounds like you need to study up on history from the past 2 thousand years or so that recounts all the horrific genocide against native peoples and also the slaughter (for instance during the inquisition period) among various Christian peoples and sects of each other in the name of Christ that was committed by hopelessly brainwashed "Christians"; none of which Jesus would condone or excuse via "manifest destiny" or for any other reasons.
  3. from the Katha Upanishad: (which is different than what many claim their efforts alone have gained, thus they may have gained something but not the "Self" per the Upanishads) "...20. 'The Self, smaller than small, greater than great, is hidden in the heart of that creature. A man who is free from desires and free from grief, sees the majesty of the Self by the grace of the Creator.' 21. 'Though sitting still, he walks far; though lying down, he goes everywhere. Who, save myself, is able to know that God who rejoices and rejoices not?' 22. 'The wise who knows the Self as bodiless within the bodies, as unchanging among changing things, as great and omnipresent, does never grieve.' 23. 'That Self cannot be gained by the Veda, nor by understanding, nor by much learning. He whom the Self chooses, by him the Self can be gained. The Self chooses him (his body) as his own.' 24. 'But he who has not first turned away from his wickedness, who is not tranquil, and subdued, or whose mind is not at rest, he can never obtain the Self (even) by knowledge!..."
  4. man made stuff

Ever wonder how two cycle engines work? Well here you go...with some history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-stroke_engine#Emissions
  5. spokes and its wheel revolve around a stationary axle.
  6. the Self can see the ego but the ego can not see the Self... the true goodness can see/comprehend evil but evil can not see/comprehend the true goodness... besides the "illusions and falsehoods of the previous layer" by Bindi.... there is also the "amazing" truths where and when applicable to them, as it sounded like you meant at the end of your related sentence? I always liked that saying of, "one man's garbage is another man's treasure" which to me has bearing with or in analogy with saying one man's (or woman's) dharma's can become another man's adharma's. (or misapplication, for instance a householder can not also be a monk or nun at the same time and still fulfill their householder dharma)
  7. mind stuff can not cross over, it must remain behind. (for use in its realm thus not destroyed per se.)
  8. Vedic Christianity

Well said, especially the last paragraph. (and various missionaries may not be unscrupulous per intent but as the saying goes and sometimes takes place, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions"
  9. Vedic Christianity

ok, up to a point that is part of the process...I'd say the other part is not diluting 1 drop with a thousand gallons and then claiming the thousand gallons are as pure as the now diluted one drop.
  10. one's "higher" self and higher conscience
  11. Vedic Christianity

I was more or less a correlation junkie myself for a long time but have mostly given up on the "new age" like conflating habit...which mostly means well but also gets off track and goes around and around in trying to fit a wide range of concepts and meanings into a greater I got it all figured out concept and meaning.
  12. A balance in emotional control would seemingly be a healthy norm...for un-suppressed emotions like rage and malice compared to suppressed emotions could (also) or would swing one into destructive or horrific actions and outcomes!
  13. speaking of cancer, with all the chemicals and mixtures of unhealthy compounds (or active and newly arising pathogens) floating around in our environment and in our air, water and food God only knows what the hell we are up against biologically and how much the human body and positive emotions can mitigate or overcome!
  14. Vedic Christianity

Come on, really? The only way to God and Heaven is through Jesus Christ per traditional Christianity, and that is not alluded to or found anywhere in far more tolerant Hinduism. So the only match ups that can be made are with esoteric or deep mystical correlations and even those have limits. Paramahansa Yogananda went a long ways with such mystical correlations in his Autobiography of Yogi, but even those have limits and are taking somewhat dubious liberties imo.
  15. Vedic Christianity

traditional Christianity and traditional Hinduism will never match up or can be conflated. This is as plain as day going by their radically different scriptures and main tenants! But if one wants to get esoteric and mystically correlate stuff then there are some match ups but even that entails a lot of stretching with liberties taken. (imo)
  16. is that being over the top dismissive?
  17. Had some fun at that place back in the early 70's. I remember various singers, musicians and guys selling stuff attached to the inside their coats as they passed by customers who watched all the goings on while having their meals or drinks. A good time for all!
  18. don't mean to be a party pooper but deadly snakes given non-judgmental treatment still bite for it is there nature to do so...
  19. is a place called Housangs or something like that still in Ensenada?
  20. does anyone know of when a lie can not become at least problematic? Whereas silence on a problem could be far less so and more appropriate.
  21. yes a different context than that...btw, I'm not sure about the usage you mean which sounds like it could turn into a slippery slope.
  22. breaking dharma can go by many names, and various forms of cowboys can also go by it or break it.
  23. I'd bring up the context that a true Sage sees very far beyond a potentially negative connotation of "straw dogs" that may occur, thus sees the Tao in all beings or the ten thousand, "Hence the Sage is always good at saving men" (or mankind and all life for that matter) and is "kind to the kind and also kind to to the unkind"
  24. "Crazy wisdom" as described above also sounds like the "left hand path" which has probably been around for many thousands of years, including long before most of recorded history, thus not only in more recent times (and is in no way limited to your new age, Indian or Buddhist examples above) although and it does exist in various and recent forms. (btw one could progress very far in a middle or right hand way only to fall or be turned along left hand lines)
  25. I thought Wal Mart and other retailers took over selling Hoovers? Don't know about Kirby's though except they are probably marked up about 500% from wholesale and that their salesmen can keep a straight face when selling them! (btw Kirby's are a pretty good heavy duty machine but are way to heavy up to Gen5, don't know about the newer generations and their weight)
