another tangent: "Enoch 6.1-4 'And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: "Come let us choose ourselves wives from among the children of men and beget us children." ... And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they taught them charms and enchantments... and they became pregnant' - The Secret History of the World So it begins, the timely fall of our heavenly beings, angels who lusted for a taste of the what the world can offer. As it was said in the Book of Enoch, there were angels who took in daughters of men as wives and produced offspring; these offspring came to be known as Nephilim: children of Heaven and Earth."

Human habitations pushed further back - again .
old3bob replied to Nungali's topic in The Rabbit Hole
we could go all the way back to when souls came here from other star systems...but that would not be provable by any regular means. Nor would it be provable by any regular means that some souls are able to visit other star systems right now. (or at least travel around in the solar system... btw some native Americans have a saying, its called "going to the sun" which is not all the different from some sayings found in the Hindu Upanishads about the sun) -

Lots of speculations and scant proof on many fronts,,, anyway I liked his major point about science not getting stuck on a particular time period thus being open to digging deeper. -

Stone age tools & cultures with tons of info
old3bob replied to old3bob's topic in General Discussion
Starting a tangent off of the stone age peoples and how the women were often treated... One might say not all that well in many cases, with some of following things apparently taking place: 1. as in having to take various orders from the men 2. as in being like property of the men, (including being traded off or forced into sex) 3. as in being over burdened with work the men did not want to do Granted that in some groups things were probably or had to be worked out to the satisfaction of both parties, (and in a some groups women had power and important rights) then again it seems that most women have been fighting for their rights and respect since the stone age... I wonder how accurate the conditions are the along these lines since that was pre-historic times with most information coming from stories passed down through cultures of only a few thousand years old that finally developed written records ? -

Hunter-gatherers were all infected with plague but didn't get sick from it: new archeological discoveries
old3bob replied to Taomeow's topic in The Rabbit Hole
the ancient Hawaiian's fought horrific bloody battles while they lived in one of the most plentiful, beautiful, natural, peaceful environments on earth....anyway I see both good and evil existing in our human nature, while our deeper spiritual nature is only inherently good as in the goodness that Spirit is. So to look back to various times and places and idealize that at one point human nature did not have have both traits or come under both influences is not realistic to me. Sometimes small hunter-gather (stone age) groups of human beings would figure out and make better weapons to use against the lesser weapons of other small hunter-gather groups, that was if they came into contact when they had vying interests or needs for natural resources or wanted to establish their territory, btw. some of those small groups would resort to running whole herds of animals off cliffs so they could get meat - was that being idealistically in tune with nature and the animals? -

one common aspect was that many pre-civilized or semi-civilized people were inclined to murder each other per the law of the jungle. Btw some were cannibals, enslavers, and or made bloody sacrifice's of captured victims (or even members of their own people) to their gods (like some of the south American peoples ways called for) and in some cases there were also those who lived peacefully among themselves and nature. Thus any romantic notions of ancient or more recent native peoples need to be tempered with the history about them that has been factually passed on or determined. -

..."We used to be it".... by Taomeow My take is that if we didn't presently have "it" then the matrix of our beings would instantly return to elemental compounds, regardless of how aware of it we may be or not be (since all beings are woven together by and derivative of it, thus without it all forms and beings would vanish. (including cats) Btw. I see cynicism as a type of torture within oneself and towards others. -

I don't buy a one shoe fits all analysis. Various types of pathogens don't necessarily need human hosts in crowded cities to quickly become or inherently be pathogenic to human beings, (pre-civilized or not) although it would seem that most would need primates or other animals/mammals with similar parts of DNA which humans have to thus evolve in those species for an "x" amount of time which would then enable them to make a quick jump to being pathogenic to human beings, regardless of the historic time periods and conditions mankind was or is in presently. -

no one knows for sure when smallpox started in pre-civilization (which is exactly what by definition?) or about its evolution thousands of years ago, whether in small hunter-gatherer groups or in larger more settled groups. Thus there are apparently exceptions to: "In pre-civilized times, you could contract a deadly strain of plague only if you got directly bitten by an infected rodent, but that was the end of it -- you didn't transmit it to anyone, and if it managed to overpower your immune system, you were the only one who died from it. Which was my point, even if your recounting has largely taken place.. -

umm, there was also smallpox speculated to have been around many thousands of years ago going by indications found on Egyptian mummies. And it killed millions way back when...(even by contact with bedding used by contagious people) How does Smallpox Spread? Before smallpox was eradicated, it was mainly spread by direct and fairly prolonged face-to-face contact between people. Smallpox patients became contagious once the first sores appeared in their mouth and throat (early rash stage). They spread the virus when they coughed or sneezed and droplets from their nose or mouth spread to other people. They remained contagious until their last smallpox scab fell off. These scabs and the fluid found in the patient’s sores also contained the variola virus. The virus can spread through these materials or through the objects contaminated by them, such as bedding or clothing. People who cared for smallpox patients and washed their bedding or clothing had to wear gloves and take care to not get infected. Rarely, smallpox has spread through the air in enclosed settings, such as a building (airborne route). Smallpox can be spread by humans only. Scientists have no evidence that smallpox can be spread by insects or animals. -

Hey Man, I have not followed this string but I'd say it's hard to relate to the aspect of "God" as a million amps and a million volts, fortunately it is not hard to relate to our elder brother Jesus who will relate back to us, and who is also master within and without over all the realms it sounds like you are talking about, thus I suggest he can help you or anyone else help themselves who are in dire straights!! "Mystic" Christianity and Master Jesus are not limited by orthodox theology or religious denominations. (although millions all have their opinions about that which we should not get hung up on, imo)
-
when cosmic power is transformed through the (Golden) cosmic Christ then there is peace and compassion, unconditional Love and Grace...the mystic reality is that no one can co-opt the cosmic power and attempting to do so always backfires for (at that level) it really must work through the cosmic Christ - or Christ Spirit...a term which can be translated to any real way of Spirit, east or west. Thus I'd say fundamentalist "Christianity" or any form of Abrahamic religion for that matter does not have a monopoly on "God" although it is interpreted that way by millions.
-
Excuse me since I'm just dropping in without prior involvement here... I'd say a major aspect of "God" can be likened to a million volts and a million amps! (or we could say trillions instead of millions) and anyone that is dismissive of that or doesn't respect it and insists on only a lovey-dovey, peaceful "God" or reality is in for a shock...sooner or later. Btw and in law-ful example of there is only one way to make it through direct contact with a million volts and a million amps and that is in having absolutely zero resistance to it; so if there is even a trace of resistance or wavering back off in deference for such powerful connections have potential dangers - and in such a case if one does not back off then something has to give and it won't be the inviolate cosmic power)

(for those who missed out on the joys and pleasures of using dos commands...but don't try these at home without a book telling what they are for - lol) List of DOS commands From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article presents a list of commands used by DOS operating systems, especially as used on x86-based IBM PC compatibles (PCs). Other DOS operating systems are not part of the scope of this list. In DOS, many standard system commands were provided for common tasks such as listing files on a disk or moving files. Some commands were built into the command interpreter, others existed as external commands on disk. Over the several generations of DOS, commands were added for the additional functions of the operating system. In the current Microsoft Windows operating system, a text-mode command prompt window, cmd.exe, can still be used. commands used at prompt APPEND ASSIGN ATTRIB BACKUP and RESTORE BASIC and BASICA BREAK CALL CD and CHDIR CHCP CHKDSK CHOICE CLS COMMAND COMP COPY CTTY DATE DBLBOOT DBLSPACE DEBUG DEFRAG DEL and ERASE DELTREE DIR DISKCOMP DISKCOPY DOSKEY DOSSIZE DRVSPACE ECHO EDIT EDLIN EMM386 ERASE EXE2BIN EXIT EXPAND FAKEMOUS FASTHELP FASTOPEN FC FDISK FIND FINDSTR FOR FORMAT GOTO GRAFTABL GRAPHICS HELP IF INTERSVR and INTERLNK JOIN KEYB LABEL LINK4 LOADFIX LOADHIGH and LH MD or MKDIR MEM MEMMAKER MIRROR MODE MORE MOVE MSAV MSBACKUP MSCDEX MSD MSHERC NLSFUNC PATH PAUSE PING POWER PRINT PRINTFIX PROMPT PS QBASIC RD or RMDIR RECOVER REM REN REPLACE RESTORE SCANDISK SELECT SET SETUP SETVER SHARE SHIFT SIZER SMARTDRV SORT SUBST SYS TELNET TIME TITLE TREE TRUENAME TYPE UNDELETE UNFORMAT VER VERIFY VOL VSAFE XCOPY

warnings about negative mantra use: (Just an excerpt that I have not researched) quoted from: https://www.hinduwebsite.com/hinduism/concepts/mantra.asp or perhaps better said as a misuse for negative purposes... "Negative aspects of mantras On the negative side mantras contribute to ignorance and superstition. Because of their popularity they are used by unscrupulous charlatans and religious frauds to attract gullible people with the promise to cure diseases, remove adversity, enchant opposite sex, exorcise evil energies and attract abundance in exchange for money or personal favors. People end up paying large sums for charms, amulets, rings and bracelets inscribed with secret mantras to fulfill their desires or overcome some problem. Some also indulge in gory rituals and superstitious practices, using mantras, to gain evil powers for destructive purposes. Mantras are meant for the welfare of society and the order and regularity of the world. They have to be used as an offering to God by people who are pure and devoted, as part of their obligatory service to God. Any misuse of mantras with selfish intention produce sinful karma and leads to one’s spiritual downfall."

From Freeform: "Yeah, I think so - particularly if you’re there in person. Though it’s very rare to find anyone able to chant these types of mantra correctly (with internal vibration) - including monks." yes...and there are songs of deep power which are normally and only possible for the devas and gods to sing, (as being of part their inherent vibration, order of being and responsibility) although human beings may be granted the grace to hear/witness them to an "x" degree, which in no way means we humans should try to co-opt such which could have dire consequences.
