  4. In the context spoken of below which is part of what I'm trying to get at, who can withstand (or is really prepared and ready for) beholding raw power per a raw awareness of same? Bhagavad Gita, Ch 11, Vs 30 – 31 30 – 31 O Lord, you are lapping up and devouring all these people from all directions. You are burning the entire universe with the fierce, all-pervading rays of your radiance. O You of Terrifying form, who are You? My obeisance to You, O God of gods, have mercy on me. You existed before all Creation and I want to understand who you are, for I do not know what you intend to do!
  5. Silent Thunder, I'm not sure about that term usage of "raw" by itself. For instance and in analogy raw lighting is at millions+ volts and maybe a million+ amps and in that raw form electricity will or can incinerate people, places and things, but harness it with transformers and all sorts of electrical processes can be run from the lowest energy requirements to the highest. So to me the term refined awareness speaks more to the idea of that which is capable of working with all levels of awareness/being without burning them up, not unlike how a seed in the ground can not take direct sunlight until it grows up.

  10. The Clarity Aspect in Buddhism

in the "midst of Brahman" no teacher or teaching is needed to or could nail Brahman down...
  11. The Clarity Aspect in Buddhism

no, it is just that that is what it boils down to in my understanding, but sure lots of aspects of mind, emotion and body need dealing with and are important although not as important as what it boils down to.
  12. The Clarity Aspect in Buddhism

L.I.K., I'd say if not possible then we'd be lost to something like the, "Vanity of vanities".... i'm not Buddhist but I'd interpret the following from the historic Buddha as clarifying his teaching down to a few very meaningful words: "There is, monks, an unborn — unbecome — unmade — unfabricated. If there were not that unborn — unbecome — unmade — unfabricated, there would not be the case that escape from the born — become — made — fabricated would be discerned. But precisely because there is an unborn — unbecome — unmade — unfabricated, escape from the born — become — made — fabricated - is discerned." (so are poking and prodding with a dozen more terms and a hundred volumes going to clarify that any more?)
  13. The Clarity Aspect in Buddhism

this may clarify it for some: "There was a beginning. There was a beginning before that beginning. There was a beginning previous to that beginning before there was the beginning. There was existence; there had been no existence. There was no existence before the beginning of that no existence. There was no existence previous to the no existence before there was the beginning of the no existence. If suddenly there was nonexistence, we do not know whether it was really anything existing, or really not existing. Now I have said what I have said, but I do not know whether what I have said be really anything to the point or not." Chuang Tzu

Not sure, is it quality hash? I have been waiting for them to come out with organic veggie spam but it hasn't happened yet...
  15. The Clarity Aspect in Buddhism

Not exactly in context to the op but.... That was interesting. Btw, it remains that great Buddhist Lama's and great Hindu Guru's are not or very seldom getting together (as far as has been reported for the past couple of thousand years) for tea and veggies and then come to agree on sharing all their resources, students and teachings as if all is equal and agreed upon. Thus one must make a choice for their main school...and the same goes for making a choice within the sub-sects, for instance off of the major Saivite branch in Hinduism there several sub-sects with their particular and achieved lineage holders and they too don't agree on everything concerning soul and Siva...(and about some other points and I wouldn't call them "half-baked" because of that)
  16. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

I can relate...after coming in contact with or studying several different paths or teachings it is hard to translate all of them into clear, non-conflicting universal concept(s), and trying to do that in itself is at best a problematic exercise ranging from idealistic and wishful thinking, coming up against walls, to putting it all on the shelf, to great appreciation, to unreconcilable dead-ends, to standing back and taking another look, etc,, etc.. Thankfully I was given personal verification of the teachings and revelations in the Upanishads and have no doubt about what they are pointing towards and give witness of. Good fortune to you Dude...
  17. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

"In my understanding, we can only really arrive at the non-dual by traversing the world of duality." likewise can we "only really arrive" beyond Mahadeva (as the creator, preserver, and destroyer which btw some dismiss) without traversing the worlds of Mahadeva?
