Tai Chi practitioners should know about mitochondria.
ReturnDragon replied to ReturnDragon's topic in General Discussion
Thank you. OK Now, we know that mitos generates energy. They react differently in accordance with the muscle movements. Taiji has lots of movements. Practing these movements with breathing will affect our body muscle structure and behavior. Next thing to know, now, is what happens when the muscles contract? -

No problem, Steve, I like you. Of course, there is no need for anyone to know. However , once you know the concept you wiil be more appreciative in your practice. It would be less dependent on a teacher. -

Tai chi exercise does incease the mitochondrial quantity. In other words, the energy will be increased in the body. Thus the subject has not been changed. -

Please don't jump the gun yet. It is about how exercise is affecting the quality and quantity of the mitochondria. -

Hello Steve, WOW You are throwing me too many things all at once. Would you please change your questioning style in the near future? Thanks! FYI I only respond to the subject matter within the scope of the OP. Yes, only two ways. In the TDB forum, we are only dealing TCM vs modern science. However. I think it is too soon to go into the climax of the discussion. I would like hear more from others and handle it one by one. Hopeful, at the end of the discussion in the thread, everything will be cleared up. Thank you! -

You are quite welcome. Would you kindly give me a little elaboration of your experiential perspective? -

Good question. Thanks! This is where we begin. Mitochondria decompose the glucose from the food by oxygen we breathe to produce ATP(energy) . Our body is an oxygen dependant. Normal people do not breathe as much oxygen as Qigong or Taiji practitioners do. The practitioners increase the number of mitochondria in their bodies. That means they can produce more energy. -

At least in my mind, something which make sense and believable without any doubt. Shall we continue within the subject matter of the OP? Thanks. -

In the Chinese Taoist's mind, in order, to invigorate the body; it needs three treasures to function as a whole. They are jing-chi-shen(cell-energy-soul). It seems converge to support your argument. -

Actually, we only have one system which is our body. However, we do have two ways to describe its internal function. Agree? -
@Erdrickgr "We are a company of ignorant beings, feeling our way through mists and darkness, learning only by incessantly repeated blunders, obtaining a glimmering of truth by falling into every conceivable error, dimly discerning light enough for our daily needs, but hopelessly differing whenever we attempt to describe the ultimate origin or end of our paths" - Leslie Stephen @Way Seeing misery in views and opinions, without adopting any, I found inner peace and freedom. One who is free does not hold to views or dispute opinions. For a sage there is no higher, lower, not equal, no place in which the mind can stick. But those that grasp after views and opinions only wander about the world annoying people. Buddha, Sutta Nipata.

Do Taoists REALLY Have Amazing Longevity?
ReturnDragon replied to 11:33's topic in General Discussion
Taoists practice meditation Qigong to maintain good health. It may be helpful, perhaps, we study and look into the mitochondria. We might find the answer and become enlightened in the subject matter. -
@gendao Knowledge can be taught, but skill must be practiced. @Deepbluesea What you do speaks so loudly, there is no need to hear what you have to say. @Bruce Lee "Don't think.....feel"

What else do I do besides standing at the ZZ position?
-
So. I had been making a fool out of myself. Now, may I ask you masters and experts out there and please tell me. Does ZZ make my legs stronger than before I start the practice? Thank you in advance.
-
Yes, any thought from you is your choice of thought. It is because that was the thought in your mind you want to tell me.
-
Wasn't that your choice of thought to tell me already?
-
@Kar3n Recognize mind has never once had a thought that wasn't your own choice already.
