  1. Jing to Qi - a Technical Question

The top character was used often by the ancient Taoist to distinguish 氣 and 炁 . 炁: 旡(wu) is an ancient character for 無(wu). 無 means none 灬 means fire 旡 + 灬 = 炁 炁 was untouched by fire. It symbolize that the Chi inside the body was not touched by fire.
  2. Jing to Qi - a Technical Question

It is because they are two different things. Jing as Yuan Jing (元精) was assumed to be the primordial substance or prenatal jng in the body. "sexual energy" is 性能 sperm (性精): the proper term is 精子.
  3. Cultivation technique???

It means just breathe like a baby. You breathe in with your belly expanded and contract inward when exhale. PS You must do it slowly. Just breathe as deep as you can but don't force yourself to go too deep. Otherwise, you might get dizzy as a beginner.

  5. Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (站樁)

  10. Xing and Ming cultivation

Do you know what cultivation means. We are not born with skills. We need to practice to get there. Stay away from your nei dan books. Those are old ancient Taoist concepts. If you try to follow them but don't understand them and lead you nowhere. Well, did it lead you anywhere?
  11. Xing and Ming cultivation

Nicely worded. The cultivation of Ming is only a notion. It leads you to the many processes. How can you make your body healthy. They are all around you. Have you heard of Qi Gong and Tai Chi? If you practice those, then, aren't you in the cultivation of Ming. I have practiced Tai Chi, for many years, which is a form of Qigong. Understand?

  19. Xing and Ming cultivation

Let's put it this way. What are the most important things in a person. Don't you think they are your mental health and physical health? However, all my sources directed me to interpret the cultivation of Xing and Ming as the cultivation of the mind and body. The goal is have the practitioner to keep a clear conscience at all time. In addition, the homeostasis of a body must maintain to its ultimate realm. This makes lots of sense to me. BTW This is what I practice to maintain my mental and physical health.
  20. Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (站樁)

Yes! It was a modification of a Japanese samurai sword by the Yang family. By Chinese definition, an one edge blade was considered to be a sabre like a cutlass.
  21. Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (站樁)

Yes, one must know what to do from one move after another. Otherwise, one will get lost and stop the whole sequence of the posture.
  22. Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (站樁)

How old are you? The intent is in the mind to determine what is the next move and how much force to be applied.
  23. SPIN QIQONG

A guy has no internal power and tried to stand on an elevated sloped board would not last for a second. He must be an idiot!
  24. SPIN QIQONG

Great gonfu! So far there isn't any such thing could do that. Do you mean a good practitioner or a grand master? A grand master do not teach students how to fight or kill. Rather, it is to maintain the virtue of martial arts.
  25. Breathing through mouth vs breathing through nose

If you want to breathe in all the dust and germs, do it with your mouth. If not, do it with your nose.
