It is in the eyes of the beholder and comprehension. It depends how much weight that one wants to put into the practice. The more weight one puts into the practice; it will be more effective at the end result.

Thank you Starjumper, I will delete this nonsense after I hear somemore comments.

FYI It doesn't matter you are working, sitting, standing or walking. You just cannot skip the definition as posted below. When I work, sitting, standing or walking, I do the abdominal breathing as required by QiGong. BTW I do Tai Chi and coordinate my breathing with the movements. Now, I can claim that I have a Tai Chi body. For that said, I can demonstrate my physical ability or power. He had practiced forty-four years of Tai Chi breathing. This guy is seventy-one(71) years old. Yours truly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBAHRqOtJDQ

That is what was called concentration in our ordinary life. My friend. Anyone can do that. Since we have three definitions already, why even bother to have some more. I know semantics are very trivial. Can you distinguish the difference between sitting, standing, and moving meditations? I know you very active here. So far, I have not heard anything solid from any of your post beside responded with a good laugh. PS I am not trying to start a fight. OK! I just like to deal thing with comprehension.

I don't mean to be mean. Would you believe me if I say there is no such thing as Working Meditation?

I am still confused what he is really asking. It is either jushi or daojiaotu, OR lay daojiaotu. What you have shown, in the above, are the real daojiaotu. Lay daojiaotu do not need an initiation ceremony to become one.

FYI I had learnt to keep my poise not to get upset, anymore, with any harsh words from anyone. BTW I had learnt from my own translation. The duel cultivation of the xing and ming(DCXM).

Hi, silent thunder Thank you kindly for the words that you use to warm my heart. It makes me feel that I still a little useful here. I do appreciate that! Wu Wei CD

ah... Thank you for your kind words. My friend! When I was away for these few years, I had built myself a yin-yang garden in front of my house. In addition, a Taiji practice platform in the back. I was fully devoted to Taiji practice, at least twice a day. I had picked Taiji sword practice for few years and sabre for a year. Once a week, I teach Taiji in a local senior community center. It is to have a better health for all and myself. Also, I was asked to help the elderly to do some suitable exercise in a local senior health center for few years already. I had been following the principles of Taiji and Qigong in breathing. In the event, I become stronger and healthier. My hair seems to be darker, month by month, for a seventy-one years old man. Again, it is nice to be back with my friends and foes. Oops, foes which I shouldn't have any; but........ Either way, I have learnt from both. Wu Wei CD

I believe that the older Daoism sources was originated from Confucianism. It was before the DDJ Daoism. Then, people have to distinguish the two in practice.

Please, Mr. Walker, do you own this place? Is this how you want to present and conduct yourself in a Taoist environment? The reason I came back was to see is this site has returned back to it's Wu Wei attribute. Please don't make it is not. Thanks!

A 性命雙修(DCXM) practitioner will forbear any disparaging remarks. @Walker Thanks for the warm welcome!

Tao is Taiji(太極) when visible. Tao is Wuji(無極) when invisible.

These terms are used, only and only, to describe what kind of believers they are. There is no need to have a lay initiation ceremony for their classifications.

Breathing into LDT properly using reverse breathing
ReturnDragon replied to Goku76's topic in Welcome
Sorry to say, it is a complete fallacy. Reverse Breathing is the ultimate goal in martial arts and Qigong. BTW I can give you tons of examples for the use of Reverse Breathing(RB). -
The term was used way back before the Taoist, Buddhism and Confucianism. In the ancient time, the term was used to describe those who do not want to be a government official by staying at home. Later, the Taoist, Buddhism and Confucianism had borrowed the term. BTY Taoism in China was before Buddhism was introduced by India. Ref: https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-tw/居士

Perhaps they might fall in the Lay Taoist category. FYI Nowadays, the Taoist religion had faded away overcame by Budd. The Some Taoists have to earn money to to support their temple fraudulently. As an example, two years ago, I went into a Taoist temple in China. As the first step, I was approached by two Taoists in turn. It was nothing by as me to contribute money. Of course, they do it in a sneaky way. Something like asking me to make a contribution for them to pray for me to have longevity. I can ask to pray for one year or life for a range amount of money. I have seen some people made thousands of money on the list. I really felt pity for them. So, I did make a some contributions with the limited small amount. Sorry, to say, at the last minute the Taoist as me if I have any loose change to give another tip. So, from the first step to the last step, I was pulling money out of my pocket. Therefore, on my way out, I gave them the "you should be ashamed look."

I knew this is coming. Ok, a 居士(jushi) is in seclusion. He makes himself in isolation.

What is the Chinese characters for jushi(_師)? I think I am getting to understand what you are asking. The term "daojiaotu (道教徒)" is, just in general, to describe those who practice Taoism. Anyone can do the practice either privately or publicly. Hence, there is NO special public ceremony for becoming a jushi/ daojiaotu akin to the Buddhist Three Refuges. BTW As the Taoist philosophy of Wu Wei, Taoists do not wish to publicize their action as the Buddhists do.
