So in this model, the pond can take an increasing amount of water without having to be fortified? While, if I understand it right, in @freeform's model the LDT is a vessel that has to become stronger to be able to hold more? And you have differences in opinion whether the Nei Dan notion of "replenishing" is valid?

Good point. And fatigue, headaches and symptoms of autonomic dysregulation might be caused by the brains inability to activate functional networks, proper blood circulation and the glymphatic system. Meds, and the reason why one started on meds, can cause that. Proper basic practices will fix that though (If I ever get an PPD I will dedicate a thread to this subject).

You can practice qigong for years before you need to decide if you want to take the step of the 100 days. All levels are fun and useful to explore.
-
Sorry, no. 😁 Absolutely That is usually a part of "proper practice", meaning that in most traditional systems this is built in. I think that this is where the (on the TDB) much used advice "find a teacher" comes in. It is not hard, it is not really advanced (at least not the first stage) but it takes some practice to make it work. A little bit to much information to post though.

Been there, lived to regret it. Yuan Jing is useful in spiritual work, if that is what you mean. But some people does well operating with post heaven qi, so I don't know. Yes, but in the context of 100 days of celibacy, it is not what you are supposed to do. That comes from Nei Dan traditions, lets say that when it comes to that, Chia is accessible but (ah, you'll find out for yourself). You will have better result if you abstein from desire, stress and stimulants.
-
Depends on the system. Mantak Chia =No. More specialised methods =Yes, because you have already materialised your desire. You lose yuan jing. Go to the "Grotto", all sexual threads are there. You might end up more confused 😁

Space as in earth, water, fire, Air, space? My favourite answer:That depends. Traditionally, before things were simplified and modern, it was said that you "install" the elements in the chakras. Nowadays, many teachers just routinely correllate them to chakras. There are chinese systems (and a tibetan) that doesn't even have them in the traditional order (from earth to space). UDT cultivation and emptiness? Perhaps. But you do not have to focus on the UDT to reach emptiness. Don't know. It is more dangerous for persons that haven't Integrated physicality and emotions, and it can lead to rather nasty dissociative experiences if someone really push it. Just read a great article about it, based on interviews with people that had breakthroughs/breakdowns mostly during retreats. Not fun!

0.1 Hz or 0.05 Hz (one breath cycle per 10 seconds or one per 20 seconds) strengthens some of the naturally occuring frequencies that coordinates vascular and neural systems, thus allowing you to strengthen regenerative functions. These numbers are group based, if you are taller you should be slower, if you are shorter you should be faster. And when you have more experience, you will be able to utilize the slower better, while a beginner should stay at 0.1 Hz until that is hard-wired into the system. At least, that is how the physiological research goes these days. 😁

Frantzis: Dragon and Tiger medical qigong vol 2, p. 143. "Toward the upper boundary of your etheric body above your head there is a mixing area where your etheric body connects with the energy of heaven. In that space, your body naturally exchanges energy with heaven." Or, to quote my teacher: "Just continue practicing."

White moon on the mountain peak. But you will have a better discussion about them in the hindu section.

Perhaps calling them dantiens are wrong, that doesn't mean that they are not there. Can you sense both the string of pearls going up and the one going down?
-
There used to be a dude here that unraveled the true meaning of the book Taoist Yoga. But now that you mention it, everybody that actually had a teacher told him he was wrong, in multiple threads over quite a few years.

Well, for someone just starting his practice: Relaxed abdominal breathing, Basic standing (Wu ji posture) Basic moving practice (Cloud hands from taijiquan is an example where you shift weight and start to get stuff coordinated). After that, the great smorgosboard.
-
Yes. There are a few posts about that subject here. Basically: While you can feel sensations in those areas, some traditions explicitly state that you first build the structure before it is a dantian. And, from a Nei Dan perspective, a DAN tian requires dan, otherwise it is a tian (field). There are practitioners here who might write more about it, or perhaps just link to old threads on the subject, but this is the gist of it.

Wu wei, not You wei?

Sitting, standing, moving. I rarely sit, and get better quality standing than moving. That depends on the method, so it is a truth in my method only. There are so many ways of doing things, but if you stick around here you will see many here preach about the nessicity of having a method. That is normally followed by a discussion about which method (I like mine, but that goes for most people here).

Working with niwan/muddy pellet is an integral part of most energy based spiritual arts. What differs is the how. Most schools won't start there, but there are exceptions to that as to anything else. And, following @RiverSnake's post, starting with grounding oneself in the body and work up through the different aspects of oneself is generally safer.

In the old days, in europe, they tested the swords with both bending and chopping tests. I guess that is not how it is done today. Wait! Does that mean that my full collection of Conan swords are useless in combat? 😠 Darn.
-
This is the right place for that. If you want to engage @Desmonddf and he isn't actively posting, just pm him. You can find several ideas about the Dantien here. Are your interest mostly nei gong or nei dan? They use different spaces as the xia tian. And there are old threads about if you have it or if you have to create it by proper practice or if you can have it without having "dan". So, start a thread, and enjoy the melee. 😁
-
Unfortunately, that is also a violent option. Look at any cultural group that has been denied their cultural roots because a group with more power has decided that their way is the norm.
-
That happens 😁 But if you have the time, start a thread. As you can see, it's a bit slow here but if you start a good one I'm sure the bums will come out of the woodwork.
