In the most modern iteration: HeartMath. And if you have practiced your Google Scholar Gong you will find 3-4 articles from the 90-ties: Electrostatic jolts, magnetic measurement around the hand (low quality if I remember right), magnetic measurement around the head, and possible a general magnetic measurement. There were also reports of infrasounds, but not as actual articles (as in doctors and scientists present, but no cigar).

Yes. If you believe that life is an illusion, Ming will be poison. Interesting way to see life.

It is not there in modern charts, the one Woodruffe/Avalon based his book on. There are older systems that has it.

Is this because of more time spent on the LDT, or do you feel this area do not exist in other energetic traditions?
-
Not spending most of their time meditating?

Taoist Alchemyβand the elimination of loss of essence
Cleansox replied to PassingThrough's topic in Daoist Discussion
He found more than 30 masters who accepted him as a student and told him all they knew. Wow, not bad. More amazing than refuting the Ejuculatii is that noone took the bait about this being the one complete method of Daoist Nei Dan. Maybe it is, I have just read the book twice and, you know, "shrugs", whatever. -
I have been reading from this forum for years. On and off since 2014 I think. Just slow to join.

I have seen you mention this in older posts. This is a new terminology for me, can you perhaps write a bit more about this concept?

The hell thread shows that the OP will fit right in with the rest of us. Quick learner!

Interesting. The shaolinmaster.org site seems to differ between qigong useful for martial arts and higher form and beyond form qigong, useful for spiritual practice. So the main argument is not whether there are methods where you can reach different goals, it is about nomenclature? FYI: In the tradition I follow, also Shaolin, when you are practicing for health it is qigong and when you push through the glass ceiling it is Shen Gong. Although in general, we only talk about the name of the methods.

@dwai Hi! Hope you are not feeling that I am picking on you (lots of that going on at the moment), I just find this subject interesting and would like to share my opinion. In my vocabulary, what you described in the quoted context was working with xin leading in to xing, that would also be how I interpret the process mentioned by Spotless in the thread about qigong (would post a relevant link here but me and my cellphone won't manage that together π) where he writes about breaking down structures. My experience would say that Ming is a fuel, working with it affects Xing, but I can work with Xing without having a conscious youwei on the Ming. Does that make sense, or am I just flapping my uvula here?

In the name of cross-cultural referencing, have you ever linked this to anuttara (the unstruck sound) and/or the iconography surrounding Siva?
-
Yes, absolutely. They even share the same terms. Coincidence?
-
Although my tradition is Chinese, I have had good use of Kashmir Shaivism in understanding that which unfolds after the Ming practice have started to kick in.
-
Yes. I would join M-80 in his definition, in my experience it is very different from qigong and basic ldt work.
-
Isn't Ming a specific term? As in working with pre-heaven energy? Or am I too limited to my tradition with that distinction?
-
Just a question to understand your point: Was it your point to differentiate qigong from nei gong, nei dan, shen gong? If so, are there many styles out there that has a solid glass ceiling instead of progressing?

Sumer: the "black-headed" vs. the "red-faced"

Nooooo! Natives are noble, it was the white middle aged man that burned down paradise and destroyed the world. I'm sure of it. I think. Maybe -
Damn it @MegaMind, you are missing a chance to get a tutorial in Sifu Rel/Ashida Kim genuine knowledge here, all you have to do is first tell everything you know on the subject so your knew tutor knows where to start. It's a perfect deal, don't be shy, grab it without hesitation! If you want to retire in a retreat afterwords, to internalize your newfound knowledge, I just happen to own a fine pice of property. It is remote, undeveloped, and have great recognized yin qualities. You might have seen some of it, but I add an image just in case you missed it π

Going through years of posts here, I have found @Earl Grey and @freeform to be frank in confronting ideas they disagree with, and the technical parts of their discussions have, in the majority of cases, been in line with what I have been taught and/or experienced during my years of practice. Yes, it can be annoying to hear, and no, they will generally not post better methods, but that is in line with how many traditions function. If you look at the forum at large, I would say that there is less politeness here now than before. Probably a sign of "freedom". I hope I will enjoy my stay here, and that you will do the same. But I also plan to not talk about details of my practice, because why invite a stranger to chew me of?

Isn't this the same person as posted on the rum soaked fist, promising to get to the bottom of the "right hand up, left hand down as dragon and tiger" by standing in San Ti for two hours every day? Guess he got tired and had to take a seat. -
That depends. But the simplest answer is "no". It might be. Depends on the practice and the practitioner. But really, look at some of the threads on forums like this. Healthy mind, calm being, open heart? That might take a while π. The practice is fun though, so it is worth it. Depends on the practice and your goals. In the end everybody dies, unless you find a method that will make you Immortal, in which case you will not. Not likely. They might lead to similar places, some might lead you astray, and some might open up to new ways of experiencing the world.

You could always induce an out-of-body experience. Easier in a fully equipped psychology lab (pm me for references), but surely managble at home as well.
