Does that mean that they teach three methods? A northern, yuxian pai, and wuliu pai?

It's uncommon, using the red dragon as a symbol, at least in the texts translated to english. Good to hear it is the same in chinese. I have only seen the term once, in the context of an author trying to convey the concept of reversal (Ni). Can't remember which text though, sorry.

As I recall, having gone through several of these threads recently, the WLP group all felt that your image of what they practiced and their actual practices differed. They also agreed with you, the practices you stated were wrong, they also stated was wrong. And then most threads ended up in silly arguments about non-relevant translations...

The point here being "in their relevant fields" A person with a PhD should be qualified to conduct independent research in his/her field of study, while at the same time might not be competent to conduct research in a different field. A M.D. might not be qualified to do independent research at all, and might not be qualified to do research in any field outside of the chosen medical specialization. And I know this because I have been in a PhD program, with MD's.

Every field attract frauds and criminals if there is a profit to it. Nothing new, why should the field of science be without them?

Not to mention that in that specific group of authority, the written account of the result of a properly developed and executed research protocol seems the gold standard for communicating evidence.

Could be worse. Could be a morning star cracking open your head.

Reasonable people tend to say that the level of evidence required depend on the claim. A claim that I just committed murder require a different level than for example the claim that I have taken a dump this week. In that spirit, a claim about something supernatural would, for most reasonable people, require more stringent evidence than something that everyone experience every day. Not requiring that would make one gullible, right?

I do one of these. When I started doing it, 20 years ago, it was just that. Nowadays, I fill those movements with every principle and every skill, physical and awareness-related, as I can. At a beginner level, maybe. Later on, every minute of practice counts.

My eight year old sees through that.... Enjoy while it lasts 💓

One could always say that there is no such thing as a proof. Even raw data can be manipulated, who can say that the machine that is recording and measuring the data is properly calibrated and not tampered with? So, there is always a tad of faith involved.

Differences between TCM and Daoist Alchemy

It is mentioned that the heart stores the spirit, the liver stores the soul, the lung stores the soul, the spleen stores the meaning, and the kidney stores the will Especially the hidden spirit in the heart, many people have misunderstood this point, thinking that the spirit should be in the brain. In fact, the hidden spirit in the heart is talking about the primordial spirit who knows the spirit and hides the primordial spirit. This step is produced in the process of becoming happy, but Few people can practice here, because there are too many illusions in the process of happiness , not to mention the sense of light, as well as the illusion after the sense of light, and the manifestation of the consciousness and the hidden essence after the illusion. And the soul of the liver hides the soul, which refers to the sun soul and the black liver. Very few people know this, because very few people can practice it here, and even fewer people can understand the scriptures. (If one bothers to use google translate...) -
Or based on the mechanisms of the style. A preskription for a specific ailment is different from a long term practice. I have, and there are clear differences in sensations. But, having a practice routine that fits with overall life is, in my opinion, of more value than trying to fit in my practice at a specific time based on sensations.

One doesn't need thousands to reach statistical significance. One time wouldn't do the trick though, and that seems to be the problem. How many controlled studies on the subject is there, where the result is repeated in at least two independent studies, and the result is statistically significant? There are a few key studies published. I haven't followed the area, but all of those I have read are made in different ways, measuring different things, so that isn't really helpful. The same with studies on treatment. Most of them (that I have read) are too small and fail to control for placebo, making the result inconclusive. (Making the medical community interested in the result is another can of worms...) That is btw a problem not only for energy healing, but for other methods as well, where there is not enough funding or motivation by researchers to create study protocols that are useful. Personally, for the later, I blame the system. At present, four small studies =PhD, while one larger study generally isn't enough for that. And universities often get state funding based on finished examinations, at least that is how it works in my neck of the woods.

This is my experience as well. I have a small collection of books and pdf's describing my method, the complete method, and nothing but the method; most of it are the notes one is handed on the first introductory days of practice, the rest is severely mixed up with stuff that the author happened to practice parallel to this at the time of the writing. -
Did you read it before posting it? I found it a bit hard to fit in the complexity of "de" in the discussion about good and evil.

Most likely.

Nuts?

Or, by judging from the other threads, just trying to make the site as uninteresting as possible. But, nuts is the new weird?
