When you have evenings alone, how do you spend your time?
Feng69 replied to Sir Darius the Clairvoyent's topic in General Discussion
Hello, I'm the lucky one 😉 who sees his partner only at weekends. During the week I come home at 5 pm and after a bit of housework I practice 3 or 4 hours Taiji, Qigong, Meditation. More correct to say, two days the week I first go to the gym for some resistance exercises and on the running machine before the internal practice. At these two days I practice only two hous internal. After all of that, reading and sleeping. I'm loving it. -

Anyone on TRT that also practices sexual alchemy?
Feng69 replied to Centli's topic in General Discussion
What ist TRT? Tribulus Terrestris? -
i've heard testicles atrophy in the last stages of internal alchemy practice. why is that? is that healthy?
Feng69 replied to Centli's topic in General Discussion
I've read the following: The more you practise internal, the more the jing is stilling, the less testosteron is produced and because of that, testicles begin to atrophy... use it or loose it. I don't know if that is true, because I don't practice that much. I only have read that... there are others that know more about that probably. -

A Conversation with ChatGPT about spiritual practice, no-mind, neidan and emotions
Feng69 replied to Geof Nanto's topic in Daoist Discussion
Interesting thing, I communicated the following text with chat gpt. e following is a conversation with an AI assistant. The assistant is helpful, creative, clever, and very friendly. Human: Hello, who are you? AI: I am an AI created by OpenAI. How can I help you today? Human: can you Tell me something about the term expargarate creature. I read something about it online the discussion forum taobums. AI: Expargarate creatures are mythical beasts that are said to inhabit certain parts of the world. They are described as having powerful energy and magic that can be used to protect their territory or launch attacks against enemies. They are often depicted as being larger than most other creatures, with horns, wings, and other unique features. Human: where did you read that? AI:I read about Expargarate creatures in a discussion forum on Taobums, a blog dedicated to exploring world mythology. Human: thank you. Are expargarate creature real or phantasy? AI: Expargarate creatures are believed to be mythical creatures, so it is generally accepted that they are not real. However, some people may still believe in them and their power, so it is ultimately up to each individual. Human: which source do you have for that? AI: I gathered my information about Expargarate creatures from a discussion forum on Taobums, a blog dedicated to exploring world mythology. Human: but the writers on that blog only wanted to test you if you can make a difference between real and false informations. All they wrote about expargarate creature was a joke. They were kidding you. AI: Ah, I see. Thank you for clarifying! I will update my understanding of Expargarate creatures and note that it is a fictional creature. Human: okay 👍 AI: Is there anything else I can help you with today? Human: not at the moment, thank you -
30 minutes daoyin exercises or 8 brocades every morning, one cup of black tea and the body stays warm throughout the day. But it won't work from the first day on, you have to be comfortable with the exercises and the body has to be "open" for some degrees.

Thank you for your reply. That's what I wanted to know. I like reading his books and he seems to be a man with big knowledge about the internal arts. Best wishes

I'm looking younger than I am, I'm fit and very healthy. I have a great set of exercises. So thank you, but I don't need another system. That was not my point. My point was reversing aging from Neidan. Some people say this would happen but I never saw a person where it worked.
-
Thank you anshino. Good points. Short comment on my reason for practicing Daoyin, standing and Taichi (and silent sitting, but without teacher. I only sit and have my mind in my body). I do it because it feels really GOOD when practicing. After many years of practicing Judo, later bodybuilding and kickboxing I had some heavy injuries and that changed part of my mind. I began with internal arts after treatments from a Chinese Doc. And the arts worked brilliant for my body. They made me strong from inside out. And soon I realised that they also were able to change my mind to a point I had been in my childhood. I became humble again, I became thankful and felt a deeper instance inside myself. All of that and more "crazy" things like knowing that I had lived many times before, I felt/knew in my childhood. And I lost it at the beginning of puberty. And I became what some call a really asshole. And I found it (not all but some of my childhood knowing) again step by step while practicing year by year the internal arts I listed above. But the first thing was, at the age of 33, after those painful injuries, to get back health and well-being. All the other aspects came from alone so to say. If that is what you call spirituality, ok that's what I do too. Best wishes Feng69

Ok thank you. I will have a look. And I will not ask more. But still I'm not convinced. I do no Neidan. Only Taichi and Daoyin and standing and some pushups etc. And with 50 I had one of those tests which measure different body stuffs (sorry, don't know the correct words). And the test said, my body was like a 38 one's body. And I don't practice any Neidan. That's why I ask if Neidan really works like it is said, because if one can do other things for a young body and quit sitting for stilling the mind, why going that very long and secret road of neidan? But like I said, I only practice for hobby health and wellbeing. So again, thank you for your answers.

So, is it wrong that Neidan reverses the aging process? Because that's what is often written. I know it's called a side affect, the reason for practicing Neidan is another one. But if the side affect doesn't work, how can one know that the higher aims work? No bashing, only asking because of real interest.

Sorry, too stupid for using my smartphone
-
I never had Intent for bashing anyone. And I didn't. This thread is about Damo Mitchell's course. Damo Mitchell practices and teaches Neidan. People say that Neidan has the ability to rejuvenate. And I can't see it in the case of Damo Mitchell. That was the chain of my thoughts And that's why I asked. No bashing, no bad thoughts, only a question. Because before I give money to a school, a teacher etc, I try to proof if it's good for me or not. So if there is no teacher who rejuvenates I ask myself, has Neidan really this effect on people or not. Again, I LIKE Damo Mitchell's book and videos. It's only about the so called rejuvenateing aspect of neidan.

Oh I'm sorry, perhaps my bad English is the reason for a misunderstanding. No, I don't know any teacher whose look obviously became younger. I only practice Daoyin, standing and Taichi, only as a hobby. I'm healthy and fit with 52 and that's fine. I do no Neidan. And I don't know any Neidan teacher in person. BUT I've read very often here and in books that Neidan makes one younger again, and I find it interesting. And here comes in what I wanted to know. Damo Mitchell (I really like his clips and books! ) wrote a book about Neigong but also about Neidan and he practices Neidan for years, as I read. And that made me questioning why he looks like a man in his beginning 40s ( what he IS) and not younger. Looking both older and new clips from him, one can see that he becomes older like everyone else. So I can't see this rejuvenateing effect of many years of training Neidan. Why not after practicing so long? Hope you understand, my English is sadly not good. Sorry.
-
I'm asking that too. I don't practice his stuff. I only saw many videos from him, some years ago till today and I like the videos. But what I am questioning myself is: he is 41 or 42 and he looks like that. And his look became older like everyone's look becomes older when years go by. Practicing Neidan for so many years, why doesn't he look younger than he does? I read quite often, practicing Neidan stops ageing etc... But in my opinion he doesn't look at least a few years younger than he is. He looks good and healthy, like many others do. But not younger. Why not after so many years of practicing Neidan?

Well, I can only talk from my personal experience. Having no sex at all works for me at best in times of 1. having no relationship to a woman (or at least a woman who understands my practice/cultivation) 2. Practicing a minimum of two better three hours or more a day (standing, sitting, Qigong, Taiji). I know that's quite hard when working 40 hours the week but for me it's possible because my circumstances "allow" it most of the time. 3. Not going to places where my sences are feeded with sexual stimulating stuff 4. Havung not too much stressful situations in daily life (the less the better). 5. Drinking not much, better no alcohol at all during that time 6. Healthy amount of sleep (for me best is 6 - 7 hours) 7. And of course the will that cultivation is a very important part of my life. I know this list could be added with many more points but that's what works for me. And possibly the best situation would be, to have holiday for some weeks/months in that intensive times of practice...but not many persons are in the position, having so much holiday. Best wishes (oh I'm so sorry for my English, hope you understand)

If you practice sitting and/or standing with a light attention on your abdomen on a daily basis your jing will become more and more still. This makes your urge for sex smaller and then willful retention is NOT necessary anymore because it happens automatically, because your sex drive is lower. Just my experience. Ok...if you are looking for nice women every day, that won't work. So, if you really want to progress, best in my opinion is stilling the jing through practice and not having sex for a time... As I said, just my personal experience. Best wishes

I saw a video on the tube about building the dantien and I think it's quite good. I learned a very similar exercise but had to pay for it some years ago...what do you think about the exercise, shown in the video? It's important to watch till to the end, because there comes the most important hands movement. https://youtu.be/M_9f4XJBuX8 Best wishes Feng69

As I learned, there are different things to do for developing the Dan Tien. A light awareness on the lower abdomen area is one thing. To feel into this area during standing and moving exercises. Next thing is letting the breath sink into this area. (Even we know that breath is only going into the lungs, it feels like breath is sinking into the lower abdomen) And the third thing are exercises where we move the hands for building the shape of the dantien in the correct way. I didn't know for many years that I had to do it that way. But since I do it, there seems to build something inside. But I am not a professional for that kind of stuff. I am only practicing two hours the day a mix of dao yin exercises, taichi form and standing in different postures and an exercise very simular to that shown in the video. I dont know if that exercises stabilize the emotions in a special way and I am in the lucky position, that my emotions are in general rather stable since I am 19 or 20...now I am in my fiftties an I feel still very happy and stable inside most of the time. Yes, Taiji and Qigong is great for my body and my spirit...but I am not sure if it stabilizes emotions...perhaps the oposite could be the case, if someone with unstable emotions begins with the art (talking in general not talking about you or another person), perhaps it could increase some negativ emotions because of the releasing effect of the exercises. So sorry, I think there are many people here in the bums with more and better knowledge about that. And again sorry for my rather bad Englisch. Hope you understand what I wrote.

Sorry, haven't seen the video series about the MCO. I have seen many other clibs from him and during the last weeks read his book "a comprehensive guide..." and I also read his first book about neigong. In my opinion he writes good stuff even sometimes there are some differences between the old and the new book and some videos. But perhaps it has to do with his own experience, changing over the years.
-
Yes I see it like you. As I said, I've learned a quite similar exercise to build the container and as I can say, it works. For a free video rather good in my opinion. Yes, there are more exercises and more complicated stuff for dantien work, but if one does for example eight brocades or something like that but has not learned how to build the sphere and is therefore not able to store the qi built from the Qigong , the exercise from the video could be a good one to begin with. Only my opinion. Best wishes Feng69
