You're right that I've only tried bagged, but I've tried a variety, including green tea. Basically all of the assorted Bigelow tea packets at work I've given a try at least once. I have the same problem with coffee all tasting terrible, but everyone just tells me to add tons of cream & sugar until I stop hating it, which I really feel defeats the point.

I'd like to like tea, but every tea I try always just tastes like bitter, dirty water to me.

It's not like I read it all in one sitting. And it wasn't entirely nonsense, he did reference some things & made some claims that had me genuinely curious. -

Eh, I'm not really a fan of Vonnegut. -

Have none of you guys ever watched The Room? Or maybe seen a video of Alex Jones going on long angry rant? Reading it, I'd get to a point where he's talking about Freemasons gradually replacing human brains with soy-based silicon nano-chips, stop & laugh at how absurd it all is. (It also reminded me of a scifi short story I wanted to write, but that's neither here nor there) That's gold! It's very close to what I was suggesting. I've heard of Cat's Cradle, but I never actually read it. -

I don't have one myself, but Void's book reads like he's a schizophrenic. -

I like how you think being a bad writer is worse than being a huckster. That's pretty funny. As for why I'm fixated on this one, that's a good question. I don't know why. Probably because it sounds so easy to test in theory, but hard in practice. I've seen contortionists do crazy things like cramming themselves into small boxes with very awkward looking poses, or practically tie themselves up like a pretzel. Just being flexible shouldn't make someone some kind of zen master, so if the position can be maintained for a long time without discomfort, & doesn't result in a bunch of magical-sounding junk like remote orgasms, then it's debunked. If a contortionist really couldn't maintain a pose like that because it pinches the sciatic nerve (or whatever it is) despite being able to tie themselves up in a pretzel, then there might be something to it. The hard part is finding someone flexible enough. And as I said before, I'm looking to improve my own flexibility (which will take forever) but otherwise don't have any interest in, or flat-out disagree with a lot of what he says in the book. So if I can sit in the full lotus for a few hours while drinking an ice cold diet pepsi & enjoying some cheese fries, then I've accomplished my goal. If I can sit in the full lotus for a few hours after a few lifestyle adjustment, & prove to myself that such a thing as the O-at-a-D is even possible & worth studying, then I've accomplished my goal. It's win-win. -
I thought it was boring pretentious garbage. It was basically a lousy podcast with a mostly unrelated cartoon playing along to it.

What even motivated you to meditate twice a day in the first place?

Walking is good, but I think a Farmer's Walk is better if you actually want to get your muscles in shape, not just your heart. It's regular walking, but you carry something heavy in each hand like a briefcase.

That was the plan. I wasn't exactly going to rush into it any more than I'd rush into doing a split, which is also something I'd like to be able to do. -

You see, "This is your innate intelligence signalling you to drop the idea of full lotus." seems less like a suggestion to give up & more like you trying to explain to me that I'm telling myself I need to give up before I even give it a try. I tell you that I'm new to this & just starting out, but rather than giving me even the slightest encouragement, you seem to be telling me to just give-up at the drop of a hat. Can you see why that raises a red flag? -

I'm pretty paranoid about screwing-up my knees. And last week I think I pulled a muscle in my leg just from sitting in a chair, with one leg crossed over the other for too long. -

I read Void's book Alchemy of Rainbow Heart Music and want to try full lotus, but lack leg flexibility. Where should I begin? -
I pretty much just created an account to DM him, but he hasn't been back on yet since I joined, so I figured I try to actually use the forum.
