https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testament_of_Solomon Summary Solomon's young friend is troubled by a demon Solomon prays and is given a magic ring to communicate with & control demons to help his friend Solomon communicates with and controls many demons which he forces to build his temple Solomon lusts after a woman who will only lie with him if he sacrifices crickets to false idols Solomon crushes the crickets, the spirit of God leaves him With the spirit of God departed, Solomon becomes a fool who demons and humans make sport of This is an interesting story. Although if a character in a story had a magic ring to communicate with supernatural forces, the most obvious questions would be to ask of the nature of God, heaven, angels, the afterlife, etc. All of Solomon's questions revolve around the nature, tendencies & descriptions of demons. Which could be viewed as unusual behavior for a believer in God. The concept of Solomon using demons to move massive rocks and pillars used to construct his temple is also interesting. Are there other alt biblical texts that are interesting? Someone recommended the book of enoch years back but I still haven't gotten around to reading it.

Is there a Qi advantage when using cutting implements or hand tools?
Sanity Check posted a topic in General Discussion
Recently, I cut down more than 20 small invasive trees using small hand saws (as pictured above). I was wondering if some degree of qigong training would make it easier for a saw blade to cut wood. If the arm has a greater quantity of qi flowing through it and is gripping the handle of a saw. Would the saw somehow benefit from this in terms of it being able to cut better. Is there a technique for limiting flow of qigong energy through an arm or hand to test a hypothesis of whether qi flow makes a difference. I ask this as some have commented at the speed at which I can cut through things with a hand saw. As it seems unusually fast. Maybe its due to me not looking like someone who used to be able to bench press near to 2x their body weight. I look more like a stereotypical geek these days. I also enjoy overthinking things. -
The next major advancement in Christianity
Sanity Check posted a topic in Abrahamic Religions Discussion
I've been thinking on whether the social hierarchy of christianity in the bible is sub optimal. A single leader or prophet attempting to nurture & guide large groups of people may not be the most efficient design. The best format would be individuals learning to nurture and guide themselves, making prophets and leaders (somewhat) obsolete. Walmart enjoyed some success cutting middle men from their supply chains. Perhaps organized religion can enjoy similar success by following a similar strategy. Believers cease listening to priest and prophet middle men. Individuals become their own priests and prophets. Perhaps this is the way God desired it from the beginning. -

Weight Training & Taoist Practice - Compatability
Sanity Check replied to Thrice Daily's topic in Healthy Bums
Its been said Bruce Lee bench pressed 400 pounds with a body weight of 150 - 170 lbs. Is it possible Bruce Lee used a combination of internal and external training to accomplish this feat? It might also explain his unusual speed and explosive power.- 18 replies

Spiritual Qi like in the Wuxia Novels, Is there any here?
Sanity Check replied to Ascetic's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
When I had 40 - 100 bags of concrete to move along with buckets of tools and equipment that needed to be carried up and down flights of stairs... I used to wish I had some type of super power to make it easier. If we can put people in space & build computers that execute billions of instructions per second, we must have devised easier and better methods of achieving basic tasks by now? Lucky for us the body can adapt to adverse & unfamiliar environments. (Which could be a type of super power) For those who believe in Christ the following may also apply. -

Create a fictional religion where being boring is the biggest sin. Where deities have grown tired of thousands of years of humans being predictable and mundane. Uniqueness and originality rank amongst the highest blessings mortals can receive. -
I don't see spiritual hygiene included. Is spiritual hygiene a legit thing or is it merely viewed as superstition in modern era.

Is Apreciation a higher energy than Bliss?
Sanity Check replied to Ascetic's topic in Confucian Philosophy
I don't know if its higher energy. Appreciation appears to have a balancing effect. -

The lineage looks something like this. God is a Creator. Jesus is a Carpenter, Healer and Builder. And what was Muhammad? Can anyone guess?

Are there any risks to using Emotion Code (or Body Code) by Dr. Bradley Nelson to remove negative energies or trapped emotions?
Sanity Check replied to Amituofo's topic in Healthy Bums
The author of Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton) wrote about it in his book on Travels. He wrote about his personal experiences with psychics and spiritualism. That's all I know.
