  1. Money

As a child of Parents who grew up in the Great Depression late (1929 thru the 30's) several values were taught to me as a child. Honesty or as both my Dad and Maternal granddad put it Don't play or fux with anyone else's money. You can't be expected to help everyone, but you are damn sure expected to help someone. My grandmother had a disabled sibling, did not know that my Grandparents were her sole supporters, until long after their passing. Pay your self every week, put something away for a rainy day. Work hard and expect a fair wage.
  2. How do you stay close?

At my age and the age of most all of my friends phone calls are how we stay in touch. That and the occasional gift dropped off personally, with a call from the phone upon delivery, and a wave from the vehicle. Postcards are traded with the youngsters, who draw pictures as they learn to read my scrawl style. I treasure my friends and family, and it is an effort to keep in touch. But it so worth any effort!
  3. Opening for another moderator or two

Thank you for your work, and thanks to all the moderators!
  4. What is courage?

Watch any mothers child be endangered... To do so will define Courage, Love and Selfishness... Woman be a whole whole lot tougher than we often give them credit for!
  5. What is courage?

I don't know as many languages as my dog does. Or at least as able as she to get my point across either orally or verbally. Use to be when E. F. Hutton talks everyone listens. However when Tanya communicates every one is interested... Or not at their own peril. She would take umbrage though at being something she is not. So to speak she is a female, and a canine, not a manly woman. Her tribe is after all Matronly, another poorly applied label. For which I beg your forgiveness of my ignorance.
  6. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

I am going to have my eyes examined!
  7. I just prefer nice people. Rich or poor, tall or short doesn't really matter. How they treat animals is a strong indication of their character. And how they might treat me or others of my ilk, few and far between we are.
  8. We have a vaccine!

Thanks. That is my understanding as well.
  9. We have a vaccine!

And I would bet, any hospital would require testing for TB. And treatment for a positive infection indication.
  10. What is Fear?

I have thought a bit more on this topic fear. Guns, I am fearful of guns. First shot one over 50 years ago, and I still am a bit uncomfortable around guns and people A gun in my hands requires an increased level of awareness / focus, and always gets it. A gun in anyone else's hands results in a super high increase of awareness / focus by me. I can control my fear of them by avoiding people with guns whenever possible.
  11. What is courage?

Courage is acknowledging and controlling fear.

  13. What is Fear?

I doubt that one can or even should ever overcome fear completely. I think it would be ignorant not to feel fear from time to time, in particular in new situations. You correctly described the fight or flight response to external stimuli not anticipated. After a rush of adrenaline I would expect some introspection, questioning what happened as well as how I reacted, versus how I wished I would have responded. The adrenaline allows for quick reactions, not so much thoughtful action. Was walking along with my dog and a lady friend when 2 other dogs started to attack my dog. I dropped the leash and got the hell out of the way as fast as I could. Then suddenly I was among the dogs with a huge branch. I have no idea how I found the branch or that I could yell stop with that much Authority. Once the dogs separated and I calmed down I wondered what had happened, why did I react / behave as I did? Lady friend said I did well, I wasn't so sure. Started stopping to look for external appreciation after that... still struggle with external appreciation... and keep an eye wide open when walking now, mostly with a big stick, lol. Ymmv.
  14. You Can Only Manifest Whats Meant For You

What makes planes fly? Money, lots of money!
  15. You Can Only Manifest Whats Meant For You

The old adage, "Be careful what you wish for!" may be fitting.
  16. MERRY X'MAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    Best wishes to all!
  17. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

Let the bidding begin. At say ten million Euros. Or bit coins if you prefer. Cheap at twice the price, imho.
  18. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

The audacity of making such a bold or arrogant statement: You are welcome to that belief personally. But to ascribe it to others, I find questionable at best. I find a grand pronouncement like that more than a little hubristic.
  19. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

Total Cunfusion or is it Confucius ism? Canceling my travel plans to Sweden...
  20. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

Immunization requirements already exist for travel to some countries and to emigrate or naturalize in the United States. So immunity passports do exist although until recently I can't recall them called passports, or their gathering such attention.
